Begin this meditation in a position that is comfortable for you.
This can be sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes and focus on your breath as you allow your jaw and shoulders to soften.
Relax your neck.
Release any tension your body might be storing.
Feel yourself grounding and being supported by the earth,
Protected by the earth.
As you enter into your sacred space and time,
Sense that you are protected from all harm.
Let go of any fears,
Worries,
Or troubles.
With each inhale,
Feel shielded.
With each exhale,
Release something that doesn't serve you.
Do this several times.
As you continue into a meditative state,
I invite you to envision a white light of protection surrounding your body.
As you draw in this beautiful white light,
I also invite you to invoke a hand gesture to connect with this sense of protection and healing.
Perhaps you will choose the Kshapa Madra by placing your thumbs between your middle and ring fingers as you make a loose fist.
This mood rebalances the positive and negative energies in our bodies.
It also symbolizes a tortoise inside the protection of its shell.
Feel a shell of protection around you.
Feel safe,
For you are very safe at this moment,
My dear friend.
As you perform the Kshapa Mudra,
Or whatever hand gesture is right for you,
Keep visualizing that white light of protection surrounding you.
You are safe.
With each inhale,
Feel shielded.
With each exhale,
Release something that doesn't serve you.
You are safe.
At your own pace,
Invite subtle movements into your body.
Put your eyes open slowly.
Take three deep breaths.
As this meditation concludes,
Remember the hand gesture you chose.
Perform it whenever you need to feel safe and secure,
And sense the white light of protection enveloping you.
