Soothe Your System is a structured 3-part audio-based mindfulness and meditation program designed specifically for individuals seeking relief from chronic pain.
Through an empowered relief approach, this course combines the science of pain with practical tools for relief - helping sufferers feel so much more in control of their symptoms.
Each episode contains 10 minutes on the science behind the practice and how it helps manage chronic pain, along with a 15 minute meditation to put our new tools to work.
Across the three episodes, we'll focus on how chronic pain has changed our brain, and how - with gentle science-backed mind-body tools - we can rewire it back (even if it isn't always perfect).
Each episode will explore themes like breath work, non-judgmental awareness, visualization, central sensitization, neuroplasticity, self-compassion, and attentional control to rethink your relationship with pain and improve your daily quality of life through these amazing science-backed tools.
Can't wait to have you join me on this journey.
Kayla is a certified meditation teacher specializing in pain-focused mindfulness tools to help manage chronic pain. After suffering from chronic endometriosis pain for several years, through the powers of mindfulness and meditation, she was able to discover the amazing impacts of neuroplasticity for rewiring a central nervous system that has changed because of aggressive, unrelenting pain.
She has a Master's degree in Public Policy and Governance (with a background in psychology) and owns Mind Over Pain (and Mind Over Endo Pain), which is a platform dedicated to mindfulness resources for those suffering with chronic pain. She also teaches across various studios and clinics to help others find relief from their pain and anxiety.
Kayla believes whole-heartedly that mindfulness and meditation can help us find relief (however small) from our awful pain, even if it's not perfect - it's science....

Leaning Into Your Breath
In this episode, we’ll be looking at the ways that our breath can have massive physiological impacts on our chronic pain (for better or for worse).
Thankfully, by hacking our vagus nerve - the body’s built-in calming switch - we can give ourselves a bit more control when our body goes into the fight-or-flight (and freeze and fawn) response during a pain flare (or from the general stress of life).

The Power Of Visualization
In this episode, we’ll learn all about the powers of visualisation for creating competitive plasticity in our brain, thereby reducing the ability for neural networks associated with pain to work at full capacity.

The Gentle Art Of Self-Compassion
We’ll be finishing the course with arguably the most important tool: self-compassion.
By recognising the impacts of harsh self-talk on our pain, we can develop a readier awareness of these awful thought loops - and interrupt them with more supportive and compassionate ways of thinking.
