Good morning and welcome to this Mind the Pain mindfulness meditation,

Aimed at reducing the stress,

Pain,

And anxiety from endometriosis.

I'm actually pretty excited about this one because it's all about you and how awesome you are.

Even if you don't suffer from endometriosis or chronic pain,

This will still be a great way to start your day,

So let's get right to it,

Shall we?

Let's first get comfortable,

Either sitting or lying down,

Closing your eyes.

We'll start by taking two big,

Deep belly breaths in.

So inhale and exhale.

And one more time,

Deep inhale in and exhale out.

Great job.

Now,

If you're like me,

You're a huge fan of the 2001 critically unacclaimed film Swordfish,

Particularly John Travolta's character who delivers the classic line What the eye see and ears hear,

The mind believes.

Now,

Fans of this film will rightly point out that this line was about the magician Harry Houdini,

But I think we can apply this to how our mind structures our day.

The stories we tell our minds are important,

Whether we actually see or hear these stories happening in real life or not.

Stories about our appearance,

Who we are,

And our capabilities have a massive impact on our confidence and mindset.

So let's give the mind something really great to believe in about ourselves,

Because it's true.

So keeping the deep breaths going,

We're going to repeat the following 10 affirmations for a great day.

And look,

Today might be a harder day for you due to pain and fatigue.

If that's the case,

Don't feel bad if you can't feel these affirmations right now.

It doesn't mean they're not possible.

Repeating them will still help the brain reframe the day.

So affirmation one,

When I look in the mirror,

I see a beautiful human inside and out.

There are so many things I love about myself because I'm so remarkable.

Affirmation two,

I can survive anything that comes at me today.

By the way,

You truly can.

You have endometriosis.

You literally survive one of the most painful conditions every day.

A busy Tuesday's got nothing on you.

Affirmation three,

I will approach the day with curiosity,

Not fear,

And will remain the three C's,

Cool,

Calm,

And kind.

Okay,

Maybe that last one doesn't fit,

But you know what I'm going for here.

Affirmation four,

There's nothing I can't do.

Affirmation five,

I will love my body extra hard today because it protects me.

I'll find places of safety and calm within my body and eat as many fruits and vegetables as I can.

But if I slip and gorge on chocolate,

Affirmation six,

I won't play small.

I deserve to speak my truth and use my voice.

My point of view is as valuable as anyone else's.

I will attack the day with confidence and kindness.

Affirmation seven,

At the end of the day,

No one will remember any of the silly things I may have said or mistakes I may have made.

I'm human and I'm doing my best,

Which is still awesome.

Affirmation eight,

I radiate calmness and I won't allow others to disrupt my flow.

I will pause before reacting.

Affirmation nine,

I attract great things with my energy.

Amazing things are coming.

This last affirmation acknowledges that some of the above may be hard to manifest if you're having a bad day or a flare up.

And if that's the case,

Affirmation ten can help.

This sucks,

But it won't last forever.

And just keep breathing in and out,

Feeling the relaxation and confidence radiating through your body,

Preparing you to slay this day.

And before we come out of this meditation,

We'll just slowly wiggle the toes,

Give ourselves a nice shoulder roll,

And gently open the eyes.

Go on,

Friend.

You've got this.
