Details

The small and funky town of Rangely, CO, and the 1.5 million acres of public lands that surround it are an ancestral home to the Fremont, Shoshone and Ute cultures, and holds their legacy of petroglyphs in the cliffs around the town. Rangely boasts one of the sonic meccas of the world, the TANK Center for Sonic Arts: a 7-story tall, 45' wide empty water tank whose unique parabolic floor gives it an extraordinary acoustical resonance. As sonic explorers, we will experience the life-changing acoustics of the TANK: hearing our voices surrounding us in this space, we'll play with how being seen and heard by ourselves and others brings new awareness, expansion and liberation to the patterns held in our bodies and minds! The quiet of the lands around Rangely is a container for both our community ceremonies and individual reflections; through art, body awareness meditations and sharing through journaling and with each other, we will experience both silence and sound and reflect on their place in our lives

Not included - self catered

One full vegan meal is provided on Friday night at our gathering place called the House Hub, otherwise all other meals are self-catered. Please take a look at the offerings in Rangely and the time you'll have to eat between activities at the retreat and make your meal plans accordingly. If you're local, you may want to bring a little cooler of microwaveable meals, easy-to-prepare food and snacks or treats and bring a picnic from your lodging. If staying at Blue Mountain Inn and Suites, continental breakfast is included. Dotties Restaurant is next door to the hotel; there are several restaurants in town (Main Street Cafe, Gio's Family Dining, Mi Lindo Jalisco, Bam's Sub Shoppe and others) where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Schedule

This retreat begins on Friday with participants arriving in Rangely and settling into their accommodations, followed by an evening community meet-and-greet with a shared vegan dinner and an introductory sound circle to explore themes of expression, silence, and connection. On Saturday, the day flows organically with optional morning movement and Qigong, followed by immersive sound experiences at the TANK, allowing participants to explore vocal expression and improvisational meditation. The afternoon includes a visit to a petroglyph site for a community ceremony, journaling, and reflection, with the evening open for optional storytelling and singing. On Sunday, the group reconvenes for a guided sonic session at the TANK, ending with a sound bath and recording, followed by a shared lunch and closing ceremony. Participants may depart or stay longer to enjoy optional creative activities, dinner, and an evening of stargazing and community singing. An optional final day offers a trip to Dinosaur National Monument before heading home.

It's a wonderful treat to meet with Christina to use sound to relax and heal! She's very knowledgeable and skilled!

Shelli, USA

I have known Christina Hildebrandt for more than fifteen years, and in that time, I have witnessed her extraordinary gifts again and again. She is a phenomenal musician — weaving voice, harp, and singing bowls into soundscapes that draw people gently and soulfully into a serene, healing space. Beyond her musical artistry, Christina is deeply intuitive and attuned to the people around her. This allows her to facilitate group experiences where every participant feels seen, acknowledged, and celebrated. Christina is also profoundly reliable. When she gives her word, she follows through. Her commitments are steady, and her integrity is unmistakable. As a healer, Christina brings together her skillful bodywork and her mastery of sound. People feel safe in her presence; they trust her knowledge, her experience, and the grounded compassion she brings to every encounter.

My children were nourished by working with Christina! They were calm and centered, and more communicative after the sound session. Recommend this work for anyone with neurodistinct tiny humans!

Echo, USA

A wonderful multi-sensory experience! Christina used a very effective combination of smell/touch/stones/sound that shifted and allowed me to explore internal and external energy flows. I especially loved the interplay of harmonics of various sounds + Christina's voice.
