The glorious thing about sound healing- and especially making sound in the TANK- is that it doesn't require musical ability. If you can make any sound with your voice- humming, creating a sibilant sound like 'sshhh', or even just breathing- that's a beautiful addition to the community sounds we will make together. Bring your willingness, openness and self permission to make sounds, and you'll find that what you have to offer is valuable and perfect!

Rangely provides visitors with a variety of lodging accommodations including motels/hotels, RV Parks, Campgrounds, and AirBnb/VRBO options. The Chamber of Commerce and 'Discover Rangely' websites offer lots of information about lodging. You might want to consider if your lodging option has a way for you to heat up meals or store food in a refrigerator, if you're planning on bringing food 'up the mountain'.

Because Rangely, Colorado sits at about 5,361ft. above sea level and is a very dry climate, you will want to pack clothing layers so that you're comfortable in various settings. The TANK itself has large temperature ranges, requiring sweaters in the morning and short- or no-sleeves in the afternoon on the same day! A water bottle is a must, and a saline nasal spray might be helpful, especially if you're coming from sea level. If you do come from sea level, try to plan on a day or three in the Denver area to accustom your lungs to the thin, dry air. (Altitude sickness is real!) A thin blanket or shawl is good for lying back and stargazing, and doubles as an extra layer; a flashlight (or your cell phone light) or headlamp; journal and colored pencils to write and draw your experiences; and maybe your flute or ocarina might want to accompany you!

No, you won't learn how to be a sound healer; you'll be learning about listening: listening to yourself and to others. The TANK teaches us to listen and wait. Sit; stay; wait. Wait before you react or make a sound. How does the sound feel in your body? Does it make you want to be still or move? How do you feel when you make a sound that others can hear: are you joyful, or fearful? Being seen by others, and hearing your own voice fed back to you powerfully by the TANK, can be both- and we'll fully explore that in this retreat.
