You may have heard of your seven chakras but not truly understood what they are, how they work, or more importantly, how you can connect with them in order to find a deeper sense of balance and alignment. In this course we embark on an explorative journey of each chakra to better understand the meaning, qualities and how they manifests in our every day lives - more-so, how to know when we are imbalanced in a particular chakra point, and how to regain balance once more. If you have ever been curious about working with energy and in learning how energetic 'blocks' or imbalances can affect our thoughts and behaviors, then this course will be a great introduction for you - using the Chakra framework as a guide. My name is Nikki and I am a compassion focused psychotherapist and therapeutic yoga teacher. This short course will guide you through a series of lessons designed to empower you with the knowledge and understanding of what your chakras are, and how to connect with each energy centre. From the foundational Root Chakra, grounding you in stability and security, to the ethereal Crown Chakra, connecting you to the universal consciousness – each energy point holds a key to greater understanding of self and the world at large. This is an educational course providing you with a basic understanding and awareness of the chakra system with the hope that it will inspire you to delve deeper into the topic adding a layer of inquiry to your existing self development journey. Within each lesson description are also short reflection journal questions to help you better understand how that chakra point shows up in your personal life. I look forward to guiding you through this course.

As we continue up the spine from Muldhara, we enter the sacral chakra with the Sanskrit name 'Svadisthana'. The solar plexus chakra known in Sanskrit as Manipura governs our sense of self worth, identity, self confidence, and drive. Anahata is the chakra of our heart - it governs compassion, love, kindness, vulnerability and our capacity for self love and forgiveness.
