And this is a meditation for getting back to sleep.
So you've woken up and I know you've tried a few different things to get back to sleep.
I'm so glad that you came to this meditation,
Because we'll just try to understand what's going on and tie up any loose ends and make a promise together that you're ready and that the mind is ready to release whatever is creating stuffiness,
Stagnation,
Excitement.
To make yourself really comfortable in your bed.
Let's go on this journey back into a deep sleep.
I know you want to go to sleep.
I'm so glad that you're making yourself ready and available to restore.
See if you can find that position where you can be still.
Whatever woke you up and brought you to the place of tossing and turning,
That needed to happen.
But it's over now.
So take a deep breath,
Breathe in all the way,
And open the mouth.
Let it go.
Deep breath,
Do it again.
Breathe in.
Let the breath go all the way up into the mind,
Into the brain.
And then exhale,
Let it wash away.
Let it go.
And take another deep breath.
Breathe it up in through the nose.
Let it wrap around the brain.
Open the mouth.
Let it go,
Relax.
Let your breath return to its natural,
Absolutely perfect rhythm.
And scan your body,
Starting at the tips of your toes,
And seeing if you can relax just even 5% more in the toes.
Can you relax the arches of your feet?
Relax your ankles.
Relaxing even just 5% more,
The muscles of the calf,
The backs of the legs.
Relaxing both legs together.
Relaxing the pelvis,
The hips.
Breathing softness in the belly.
Relaxing the low back.
The mid back.
The upper back.
Relax the shoulders.
The arms and the hands.
Bring awareness to the center of the palm.
Let it soften.
What does it feel like to relax from the palm?
And let that feeling move back up the lower arm to the elbow.
Up the upper arm.
Bring a sense of softening to the center of the chest.
A feeling of,
Ah,
Right here.
Let the back of the neck relax.
You might imagine that you could put a skull cap on of relax.
You can feel it from the eyebrows to the crown of the head.
Covering over the back of the head to the place where the skull meets the top of the neck.
Relaxing.
Let the whole face soften.
The whole body.
Loving eyes relax.
The jaw relaxed.
The whole body relaxing.
Let the mind relax.
As if the mind itself could melt like butter into the body.
To the energy of relaxation that goes from the tips of your toes to the base of your spine.
To the top of your head.
The whole body relaxing.
And re-relaxing.
Re-relaxing.
Again.
Again.
You you you you you you there is absolutely nothing left to do you have full permission to let go to drift into a sweet and restorative sleep you you you something is switching now within you the sense of being okay right here there is an energy of comfort and ease that is washing over your whole body and maybe you even have a slight smile because you know it's time you know it's time breathe in and let your exhale be just a little bit longer than your inhale the gates to dreamland are opening to welcome you in feel your body light as a feather your body is so light like a feather it could just lift up and float let the lightness of your body feel good feel the feel the haaa at the center of your chest you you you you you you you you and allow yourself to float through the gates to enter the sweet space your dreams let it go let it go
