
Yoga Nidra for Overcoming Challenges

In this yoga nidra or psychic sleep meditation, you’ll be guided through a visualization for overcoming a current challenge you face in your life. You might address stress at your job or a prevalent health issue, it could be a limiting belief you hold or a challenging relationship. This is an opportunity to retrain your subconscious mind to work toward your best possible outcome. We’ll use a systematic process to find a deep state of relaxation and we’ll restore ourselves on both a physical and emotional level.

Welcome to Yoga Nidra for overcoming challenges.
In this meditation,
You'll be guided through a visualization for overcoming a current challenge you face in your life.
Maybe it's related to stress at your job or a prevalent health issue.
It could be a limiting belief you hold or a challenging relationship.
This is an opportunity to retrain your subconscious mind to work towards your best possible outcome.
We'll use a systematic process to find a deep state of relaxation and we'll restore ourselves on both a physical and emotional level.
So find yourself a comfortable position,
Something that feels restorative for you.
A position that's easy to be in for the duration of this practice.
Perhaps you're reclining in an armchair or you're laying on your back in the coziness of your own bed.
Whatever position you're choosing now,
Do any moving around you need to do so that you can stay as still as possible during the practice.
The more stillness you can hold,
The deeper you'll be able to go as you dive in to your own being.
So see if you can make yourself even 5% more comfortable.
And close your eyes.
Find a little more relaxation.
Relax your jaw,
Cheeks,
Tongue,
And the back of your head.
Let them soften.
Everything that's gone on in your day before this moment can be filed away for another time.
Your job is just to invite in more and more ease with yourself as you open to relaxation and to healing.
Take a few moments to become aware of your breath.
Without changing anything at all,
Notice your natural breathing pattern.
Let it be natural.
Let it be normal.
Bringing awareness to your inhales as they enter your body.
Bringing awareness to your exhales as you let go and relax further.
Breath coming in.
Breath going out.
Relaxing.
And now bring to mind a challenge that you're currently facing.
Recognize the first challenge that arises for you.
Identify it in a detached way.
Doing your best to see this challenge as it is,
But not as part of you.
You can see your challenge as an entity.
It's with you,
But it's not you.
Perhaps it feels frustrating and scary.
Keep coming back to your breath,
Watching it.
You can let go of the details.
Just recognize that this challenge and any challenge is an opportunity for healing and for self-realization.
See that what you're facing now has already become a tool of great transformation in your life and the lives of those closest to you.
Come back to the breath.
Come back to the awareness that you're breathing in and the awareness that you're breathing out.
Following your own natural inhales and natural exhales.
And now begin to envision the best possible outcome for the challenge you're facing right now.
What do you most desire to be true?
Trust yourself.
You have the capacity,
The strength,
And the ability to bring about your best possible outcome.
What does it look like?
What does it feel like?
Get in the sensation of your best possible outcome.
And if any doubt is creeping in,
Imagine yourself taking all of the measures needed to achieve your best possible outcome.
See yourself doing this boldly,
With confidence,
With wholeheartedness.
It's now time to come up with a short and powerful intention for this practice.
Your intention should paint the picture of your best possible outcome.
It's helpful to begin with the words,
I am,
So your intention is brought into your current reality.
Take a moment to phrase this statement in your mind.
This statement is your resolve.
Repeat it to yourself,
Quietly,
Three times.
And remember your resolve.
During the practice,
There will be a time when I cue you to repeat it.
This repetition is the seed that you plant,
A choice for deep healing within your mind,
Assisting in all aspects of transformation.
Accepting that this practice will bring you a certain kind of strength,
Commit to accepting whatever experience arises for you during this practice.
Try to remain awake and follow my voice.
It's okay if you fall asleep,
But continuing your awareness on my instructions has great restorative benefits.
But whatever you do,
Let it be easy and let it be soft.
Remember that you're the director of your life and your dreams.
So bringing the awareness back to the breath,
Taking three long inhales and exhales.
With each exhale,
Feel yourself being bathed in a wave of calm.
Visualize your body,
The physical existence of your body laying where it is right now,
On the chair,
The floor,
Your bed.
With your eyes closed,
Visualize your body in this space,
See your body in complete stillness.
See a bird's eye view of your body.
Become aware of the meeting points between your body and the chair,
The floor,
Or your bed,
The points of your physical body that are in contact with the place where you lay.
Awareness to the back of the head,
The shoulders,
Backs of the arms,
Backs of the hands,
The hips,
Buttocks,
Back of the legs,
Heels.
Bring your awareness to the room where you lay in complete stillness.
Visualize the floor,
The walls,
The ceiling.
Create a visualization of this room in your mind.
See your body in this room.
See your body in complete stillness in this room.
Breathing.
It's time to plant the seed of your intention.
Bring to mind your resolve,
Your I am statement.
Wholeheartedly repeat this resolve three times.
You can visualize the statement as the seed of a beautiful flower.
You can see the seed being planted in the fertile ground of your heart.
And now we'll begin a rotation of consciousness.
You'll just follow my voice with your mind.
We'll jump freely from one part of the body to the next.
You'll focus on bringing a soft white light energy to each part without dwelling on any particular part.
Continuing to move your awareness with the sound of my voice.
We'll begin on the right side.
Face to the right hand,
Thumb,

Bring your awareness to the breath.
Become aware that you're breathing.
Your breath is natural.
It's automatic.
You are not doing it without effort,
Breath coming in and breath going out,
Maintaining complete awareness of your breath.
On the inhale,
Your belly rises.
On the exhale,
It flattens.
Expanding.
Inhale.
Contracting.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Synchronized breath and belly.
Breathing.
Awaken a sensation of heaviness in the body.
The body feels so heavy like lead.
Haviness in the body,
Like you couldn't move even if you try.
Feel the body sinking in to the surface that it's on.
The sensation of heaviness in the body.
It is heavy,
Arms,
Torso,
The back,
Heavy.
The hips,
Buttocks,
Legs,
And feet,
Heavy.
So heavy,
Feeling the sensation of heaviness in the body.
And now,
Awakening a sensation of lightness in the body.
The body is so light,
Like a feather.
It could just float up to the sky.
Feeling of lightness in the body.
The body is so light.
Head,
Shoulders,
Arms,
Light.
Torso,
Chest,
Abdomen,
Hips,
Light.
The legs and the feet,
All so light.
Lightness in the body.
And now coming to visualization,
You'll hear me name several things.
And when you hear a description,
Do your best to visualize the words.
Imagination is on all levels.
Imagination,
Sensation,
Emotion.
Feeling the words,
However they come to you,
And seeing the best that you can right now.
Relax and allow visions to come naturally,
Spontaneously,
Without effort.
And move from one to the next.
A flickering flame,
Dripping wax,
A new candle,
A room full of candles,
A brick fireplace,
A hot summer day,
A pink sunset,
Turquoise blue ocean,
White wave crests,
A wishing well,
Desert hot springs,
A rock skipping across a lake,
Fish swimming just beneath the lake's surface,
Someone splashing in the water,
A naked body,
A log cabin in the woods,
Pine tree,
A moss covered rock,
A winding pathway,
A dream catcher,
A grand piano.
Birds singing,
Locusts at sunset,
Wild laughter,
Bells ringing in the distance,
A deep exhale,
A high tide,
Two lovers embracing,
A white horse,
A peace symbol,
A light rain,
Rose petals,
A message in a bottle,
Unconditional love,
Prayer,
The symbol of peace,
Aum.
Bring your awareness to the space behind your closed eyelids,
The space behind your closed eyelids and the space between the eyes,
Your third eye,
Your psychic center,
The movie screen of your subconscious mind.
Without attachment,
Notice what you see here.
Perhaps it's a person or a memory,
Maybe it's a color,
A texture or a pattern.
Watch it now.
Let it play.
Serve it with detached awareness.
Observing your movie,
The space behind your closed eyelids.
And as quickly as the images appeared,
Let them go.
Come back to your breath,
Your belly rising on the inhale,
Your belly flattening on the exhale,
Inhaling,
Exhaling,
Breathing,
Natural,
Normal breaths.
Let them happen.
Let them happen just as they are.
Hear now your resolve,
Your I am statement.
See your statement planted in the center of your chest and repeat it.
Repeat it to yourself three times.
Be fully in your resolve.
And relax any effort now.
Breathing easily.
Awareness that you are calm,
Still,
Relaxed.
Notice that you are practicing yoga nidra.
Awareness of the room where your physical body is slowly awakening from deep meditation.
Imagine of the room where your body is physically laying now.
Imagining the floor,
The ceiling,
The walls.
Seeing your body in this room in total stillness.
Help awareness of your body,
Awareness from the toes to the top of the head.
Keeping your eyes closed,
Lie quietly here.
And whenever you're ready to complete the transition,
You can make small movements of the body.
You can run a thumb across the fingertips.
You can curl the toes.
You can stretch the arms.
Slowly awakening,
Completing your practice.
Feel your hips.
Diagnosed as a flash.
