Becoming: Building Sustainable Habits To Become Your True Self

With Dr. Inge Wolsink

Every new year, we promise ourselves to do things differently, and yet most of our good intentions never make it past January. Why is that, and what can you do to make your new years resolutions last until December? This course is created to help you change your life. Want to feel more relaxed? More focused? Healthier? Happier? More productive? Would you like to change your job, your career, or how you relate to yourself or to others? Whatever it is you wish to change, this course will help you do it. Researchers estimate that about 70 to 80 percent of our behavior is habitual and unconsciously triggered. This means that if you do not understand how habits are formed, 70 to 80 percent of what you do on a daily basis, is outside of your awareness, and therefore beyond your control. In this course, you will learn how to analyze, understand, and influence unconscious processes and habitual behaviors. The course will allow you to control parts of your life that have previously felt outside of your control or ability, and it will help you to become the person you wish you could be. How do we do this? With a 50/50 mix of theory and practice sessions, Inge will take you through all the steps of changing your life around, reframing your mindset, and building the habits that will lead towards the change you want. Every uneven session number, she will explain a psychological topic from a scientific perspective. For example, how habits are formed in the brain. Every even session number, you will practice with the content. For example, you will design your own habit according to the scientific theory of habit formation. At the end of this course, you will have a multi-year visual map of who you wish to become, what you can do to become that person, and how you can do it in a fun, easy, and non-stressful way. This course is suitable for anyone who is ready to change something in their life, but feels they would benefit from a structured, evidence-based approach that will not only get them started, but will keep them going consistently, and with confidence. Source Statement: No idea is ever created in solitude. Creativity is collaboration. The creation process of this course has been heavily influenced by the ideas, methods, and studies of other researchers and writers. Meet your Teacher

Before becoming a yoga and meditation teacher, Inge Wolsink obtained her PhD in psychology at the university of Amsterdam, where she worked as a researcher and lecturer for eight years. While doing her academic work, she noticed a gap between the knowledge in psychological science, and the tools and practices that were available to the general public. It felt like a wealth of knowledge was going to waste. When she traveled to India to study yoga, she noticed a reversed gap: There was a wide variety of practices, but science was only just gaining an understanding of how and why those practices work. She came to the realization that better bridges between science and practice were needed in order to improve holistic healthcare. Since then, it has been her mission to bridge science and (yoga) practice to help people lead a conscious, connected, and healthy life. Inge's teachings combine psychological science and yoga into one integrative approach that is easy, fun, and accessible to everyone. Through coaching, training, yoga classes, and courses, Inge has helped thousands of people understand themselves (and others) better.

Lesson 9

Theory - Why The Key To Change Is Specific Behavior

In this theory session, you will learn about the importance of behavior. Far too often, we focus on goals, intentions, and on confidence. This is an outstanding course! I expanded the course time from 14 days to about 4 weeks. I finished the course and did every single journal activity and I gained so many new insights about myself. I applyed Inge’s concepts in each the practice sessions. Over the weeks weeks, I lost the 4 pounds I gained during COVID by applying the theories she teaches! I got up on my newly discovered ā€˜cue’ and began my at home virtual Pilates class šŸ‘Šon my designated mornings. I returned to the gym as well. Over the last few decades, I purchased , read, and applied over a dozen ā€˜change’ courses, books, etc. all useless. Inge’s approach is clear, relatable and effective. Take the course and find out!

This course helped me understand so much about my habits and why certain resolutions did not stick. But it did not stop there, because it is also very practical and serves as a guide how to do it better. Itā€˜s science-based but makes the concepts very tangible because you understand their appearance in everyday live. If you have the craving to change your behaviour and ultimately your identity but always felt like itā€˜s too messy and confusing you should really try the course. Thank you Inge✨
