In healing trauma, we are working with overwhelming experiences that were stored in our body as sensations and energy along with associated traumatic memories. Why do we need to be in this moment? Because right here, in this moment, the danger that we're feeling in sensation and perhaps in flashbacks and in memories is not happening right now. It's happened in the past and our body is recalling it. We do several regulating practices in this talk to help our nervous system and body. We look around the room. We feel our feet and seat. We build confidence that we can use these practices to experience being grounded in the present where we are safe.
