Meditation is a wonderful act of self-love and we will be taking a journey through the chakras to get in touch with the essence of who we are.
The word chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or circle and it refers to the individual circular spinning wheels of energy located throughout the body.
The chakra system is a complex network of energy channels connecting these wheels and is mapped throughout the whole body.
Today I will take you through a root chakra meditation to help you feel grounded and to remind yourself that you are always safe and it's safe to make the positive changes that you want in your life.
You just need a few minutes to take some time for yourself and sit or lie down quietly.
If you can't do that now,
Pause the recording and come back to it later.
Now,
Try to relax all your muscles as you close your eyes and breathe deeply.
Inhale through the nose,
Pulling the breath as far down into your body as you can and exhale through the mouth.
Begin by placing your attention in the first energy centre,
The area of your perineum.
And then open up your attention to the space around the centre.
Once you can sense the space around this energy centre and tune into its frequency,
Bless that centre for the greatest good.
Connect to elevated emotions,
Love,
Gratitude,
Joy.
Raise the frequency of this centre.
Now keeping your attention in the location of the root chakra,
Around your tailbone,
Your perineum.
And just be aware of any tightness in the area.
Take another deep breath in and sigh it out,
Letting all the tension melt away.
Picture the colour red for the root chakra,
Ruby red or the core of the earth,
Or visualise a field of poppies,
Or maybe a single deep red rose.
The energies of the root chakra help us to feel grounded,
Safe and connected to this earth.
Now imagine strong energy roots coming from your root chakra,
Down through your legs,
Through your feet,
Down into the earth.
Connecting you with nature and grounding you.
Push the roots deep down into the centre of the earth.
Allow the beautiful earthy energy to travel back up through the roots to fill your entire body with all the valuable nutrients and power from nature.
Tell yourself,
I am grounded.
Imagine a red light inside and outside of your body.
It is now floating inside and outside of you as an aura.
Notice as you spend time here and you feel safe and secure.
Repeat these words silently.
I am grounded and centred.
I belong.
I am accepted.
I trust and love my life.
I am secure.
I am supported by the universe and life around me.
I experience abundance in me and around me.
I am safe.
Now be aware of the red brilliance of your root chakra as it begins spinning clockwise in perfect motion.
Your root chakra at your perineum is fully open and abundant and alive.
Listen to her as she whispers to you now.
Feel her as she awakens.
Breathe.
Repeat silently.
I am safe.
I am secure.
I am needed.
Feel the red light coursing up your spine.
As you sit,
Feel Mother Earth working throughout your entire body.
Feel her.
Accept her.
Love her.
Feel the divine universal light piercing through your crown and flooding down your spine to your root chakra,
Nurturing and nourishing her.
Spend time here and recognise that everything is okay.
You are safe.
You are secure.
You are needed.
Now take some deep,
Cleansing breaths.
Be in this space without feeling the need to rush back.
Repeat silently.
I am safe.
I am secure.
I am needed.
Now very,
Very slowly,
I want you to imagine your root chakra closing down to normal function,
To the size of a small red fairy light.
Repeat after me silently.
My root chakra is working at its normal function.
Now very slowly,
Bring yourself back to consciousness pleasantly and gently.
When you are ready,
Allow your eyes to open naturally.
Move your body slowly and calmly as you come back to this time and space.
