Tonight, we’re shifting gears. The vagus nerve is the physical bridge between your mind and body. It travels from your brain, through your face and heart, down to your core. It’s your body’s natural 'return to peace' signal, the internal pathway that reminds your system it’s okay to let go and breathe. Spiritually, it’s the sacred thread aligning your chakras, from the intuition of your Third Eye to the safety of your Root. Whether you lean into the science or the soul of it, this practice is about returning home to yourself. By soothing this nerve, you’re giving your nervous system permission to let go. Release the day and sink into the deep, restorative sleep you deserve.

Hello and welcome.

This meditation will help you get in touch with yourself and your truth.

You are right where you are meant to be,

Ready to receive the deepest peace.

By consciously engaging in this nightly ritual,

You're not just improving your physical well-being you are cultivating a deeper sense of peace,

Resilience and connection to all that is.

And don't feel any pressure to stay awake for the whole journey.

If you drift off,

That means your body and mind are getting exactly what they need.

Now finding a comfortable position in your bed,

Lying back,

Getting yourself really comfortable,

Take your time,

There's no rush.

Allow your body to sink down into the mattress,

Releasing any tension you may be holding.

Gently close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and sigh it out,

Letting go of your day.

Breathe in again through your nose and this time hum as you breathe out if you can.

Feel the vibration of the sound traveling through your body.

You are safe in this sanctuary of peace that is your bedroom.

Now bring your awareness to the space around you.

Imagine this is not an empty room but a warm,

Living,

Loving energy,

The universe itself.

This energy,

This universal consciousness loves you unconditionally and is here to support you.

Feel its presence all around you like a gentle,

Loving hum.

Now place one hand over your heart center and the other on your belly.

Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four,

Feeling your belly expand like a balloon.

Breathe right down into the belly and hold for a count of four and then exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of six if you can,

Feeling your belly contract.

This simple belly breath activates your vagus nerve,

The main nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system.

By allowing the exhale to be a little longer,

You are sending a quiet sign to your nervous system that it is safe to rest.

Now continue to breathe in and out through your nostrils.

With each inhale a gentle tide of calm rises and with each exhale it washes over you,

Soothing and releasing.

As you breathe a warm light of rose gold of universal energy gently flows down through your crown chakra,

Drawn to your peaceful state.

Tonight and every night it is here to offer you a gift to gently,

Energetically soothe your vagus nerve.

Feel the natural rhythm of your breath as a lullaby,

A gentle invitation for your body to let go.

The vagus nerve is like a sacred river flowing from the very center of your being,

From the base of your brain,

Up and in between your eyebrows,

Down through your face,

Your throat,

Your heart and lungs,

Your digestive system and through to the lower back.

It is the primary messenger between your mind and your body,

Orchestrating so much of what makes you,

You.

The vagus nerve continually sends electrical and chemical messages to and from the brain,

Making it possible for you to speak,

To swallow,

Digest food,

Breathe,

To pump blood and so much more.

Now as you lie in your safe bed feel the universe's energy begin its gentle and loving work.

Imagine this soft warm light of rose gold moving in and around the base of your skull.

As you settle in a little more,

Bring a soft awareness to the back of your neck.

This is where the vagus nerve begins its journey.

The universal energy with infinite tenderness starts to bathe this area in a calming glow.

Allow your eyelids to feel heavy and relaxed.

Gently settle in a little more,

Getting into your most comfortable position in your bed.

Feel the muscles in your jaw and your shoulders melt as if releasing a day's worth of holding.

With each beat of your heart a new wave of peace settles over you.

You are completely safe and completely supported.

Bring your awareness now to your eyes.

The golden light's vast warm presence is softly resting over your eyes.

This rose gold light comforting them,

Soothing the area all around the eyes and within them.

The vagus nerve doesn't just manage your heart rate or your digestion.

It also controls functions like your pupil dilation,

Tear production and the tiny muscles that focus your eyes.

With each breath you take in,

The universe exhales a wave of calm over you and your eyes.

Its touch so gentle,

You can barely feel it.

As you lie here,

If any stray thoughts or distractions come along,

Acknowledge them and then allow the universe to melt them away as you relax more and more.

You are held and you are safe.

This meditation is a safe space for you.

If you drift off before the end,

That is exactly what your body needs.

Trust that you are always being taken care of.

The energy from the rose golden light now moves to your forehead.

This loving energy gliding across your brow,

Smoothing away any worries.

It moves to your temples,

Massaging them with an effortless cosmic rhythm.

You don't have to do anything at all.

Just relax and surrender to the sensation.

Allowing this heavenly light of rose gold to do the work as you sink deeper and deeper into relaxation.

The vagus nerve flows down through your face.

It is responsible for your facial expressions.

Let a soft smile bloom on your face.

Feel the rose golden light gently move down the sides of your face,

Past your ears,

The energy's touch circles the back of your neck and up around your brainstem,

Feel the universe's presence as it gently holds this space,

A crossed-hand gesture of protection.

Because of the vagus nerve,

The emotions we feel are displayed on our faces and in the sound of our voices.

The vagus nerve is large here,

And sometimes we feel choked up when we can't speak our truth.

The universe is freeing this space right here and right now,

Allowing your voice to be unburdened.

Any tightness in your voice,

Any lump in your throat is gently softened.

Take a deep breath in,

And out,

Letting go of any constriction.

The universe's loving energy now rests on your shoulders.

This light of rose gold traveling down towards your collarbones,

Releasing the weight you have been carrying.

It is calming and soothing.

Breathe gently,

And allow your body to relax even more.

Relax your shoulders,

Feel your spine align,

And sense yourself centering in this moment.

With each breath,

Feel this light flowing down your spine,

A river of peace washing over you.

Now,

Feel the energy move deeper into your chest and into your sacred heart.

The universe's golden light flows gently across and into your heart center.

Feel the love flowing in,

A powerful protective energy.

Sense this cosmic light as it expands into your chest,

Bringing deep ease to your heart and to your lungs.

It is helping your heart find its natural rhythm,

Slowing its rhythm to a steady,

Peaceful beat.

Feel your heart rate slow down,

Feel your lungs at peace as your breath deepens.

Feel this sense of security and safety as your heart rests in this cosmic embrace.

Feel yourself relax even more as you drift towards the dream state.

But there is no rush,

No rush.

The energy now flows towards your abdomen,

Soothing your stomach and calming your gut.

This is where your intuition resides,

And the universe is tending to this sacred space,

Bringing it into a state of harmony and cohesiveness.

The rose golden light settles on your solar plexus and sacral energy centers,

Calming,

Restoring as you sleep.

Feel a profound sense of trust,

A deep knowing that you are supported and nourished by the universe.

Feel the universal energy calming your belly,

Soothing any discomfort.

It is nurturing your core,

Let us take another deep belly breath together,

But only if that feels good for you.

Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four,

Feeling your belly expand like a balloon.

Hold for a count of four,

And then exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of six,

Feeling your belly contract.

And now relax even more.

If you are not already asleep,

I'd like you now to think of something that brings a genuine smile to your face.

A treasured memory,

A cherished person,

A moment of pure joy.

Allow that smile to blossom on your lips as you hold this memory or image in your mind.

And maybe see a beautiful place in nature in your mind's eye,

A place of sacred peace where you are completely whole.

The universe sees your smile and smiles with you.

And just keep smiling with your eyes closed for a little while longer,

Basking in this feeling of pure love and connection.

With each breath you take,

This universal energy becomes more and more healing.

Feel yourself even more centered and grounded and even more aligned.

The vagus nerve is being bathed in pure unconditional love,

Sending signals of safety and peace throughout your entire autonomic nervous system.

You are being reminded that you are safe,

You are supported,

You are loved.

Allow yourself to let go completely.

And if you find yourself drifting off,

Just go with it.

Dear Liz, I still have not heard this to the end and I've listened three, or maybe four, times!! Last night I was really anxious. I woke up about 2 and by about 3:30 I was still awake. I began to think I may not return to sleep at all but, thankfully, I thought of this meditation. I don't know how long it took me to go to sleep.....maybe 10 minutes...I can't thank you enough! I kept thinking I'd wait till I'd heard it all the way through to leave a review but, quite frankly, that may never happen! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

It took me three times to hear this to the end which is great! There is no rush to fall asleep but also it is so relaxing that it can help you get to sleep easily. Visualization of the rose gold light made my entire body tingle because I am very fond of rose gold. Liz helps with her guidance release the vagus nerve for deep relaxation and it is magical. Thank you dear Liz! 🙏💖🕊️♾️
