Hello,
Beautiful one.
Welcome to this guided visualization to ground yourself using the power of the tree.
Begin by getting yourself into a comfortable position.
Many people like to do this grounding exercise standing up with their feet firmly planted,
But you can also do it sitting as well.
I don't recommend doing it lying down,
But anything is possible.
In whatever position you find yourself,
Become as comfortable as you can.
Relaxed yet alert.
And begin by taking a nice deep full breath in,
And on the exhale gently allowing your eyes to close.
Taking another full deep breath in and letting it out with a sigh.
And then breathing in whatever way feels good to you.
Finding your breath in your body.
You might find that as you're focusing in on your breathing in this way,
Your mind wanders away.
That's perfectly normal.
Just notice where it went and gently bring it back to focus on your breathing.
And with every exhalation,
Just allow your body to release a little bit more so that as you're breathing comfortably and easily,
Your body can just let go and settle in.
And now briefly scanning your body for any areas of tension or tightness.
And then imagining that you can send the energy of your breath to those places as you breathe comfortably and easily.
Now imagining yourself as a sapling firmly planted into the soil.
Allow the parts of you to touch the ground,
Your feet,
Your legs,
Your bottom if you're sitting.
Releasing into the soil so that you can feel your body sinking slowly into the surface that you're sitting upon.
Imagining a strong root growing down from your spine into the layers of the earth.
This root is your core energy,
Energy that moves with your breath up through your spine as you breathe in and back down into the soil as you breathe out.
Imagining that your breath starts far beneath you.
And as you breathe,
Allowing the energy allowing the energy to come up into your spine,
Your trunk growing high and tall with every exhale,
Releasing from the top of your head,
Allowing your trunk to become strong and steady,
Allowing your energy to flow in and out and around you as you breathe,
Feeling your trunk expanding and growing out and up as you inhale and your roots growing down further into the earth as you exhale.
Noticing your limbs connecting to the soil and noticing smaller,
More flexible roots growing down and widening out,
Spreading throughout the soil,
Creating a wide network of flexible roots around you.
Feeling this network of roots expanding with every inhalation,
Growing,
Pulsing inward and outward with your breath.
And now checking in and allowing any stress or tension you may be experiencing to be released down through this extensive root system you've created,
Releasing it down into the earth beneath you as your roots expand,
Releasing the stress and tension,
Creating the space now for growth in your branches,
Allowing your branches to grow wide and high as your support system beneath you allows the space for you to grow,
Releasing whatever doesn't serve you down into the soil via the extensive root system,
Allowing your leaves on your branches to spring forth and your flowers bloom,
Feeling the gentle wind rustling through your leaves as the sunshine creates sensations of color and warmth,
Becoming aware of the sound and the touch of the wind.
You are tall and strong and vibrant.
Coming back now to the soil beneath you,
Feeling the richness of the nutrients in the soil nourishing you,
Becoming aware of the other trees around you and their roots in the soil as well,
Your network of loved ones,
Friends,
All the people you know who would gladly accept your connection,
Allowing the roots of the other trees to intertwine with yours as if you are holding hundreds of loving hands.
Interconnecting in this way,
You and the other trees can withstand the wind,
The rain,
The heat,
The hurricanes,
The cold,
The snow,
The stressors that life throws at you,
Supporting each other in this vast network as you are feeling this oneness with the earth,
Nature,
And the other trees,
Allowing yourself once again to feel the breeze in your branches.
You have the flexibility to sway with the breeze and yet remain firmly grounded in the earth.
And now releasing the visual of the tree,
Allowing yourself to return to focus and attention on your breath,
Finding your breath in your body once again,
Taking a nice deep breath in and letting it out,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes,
Moving around in your body.
And then whenever you're ready and with soft eyes,
You can return to the room,
Bringing with you the strength and the grounding and the flexibility of your inner tree.
Be well.
Namaste.
