Knowing when specific meridians and their related organs are most active or least active assists one to self-treat appropriately. Please prepare for this guided instruction by drawing a circle with 12 equal segments. When you have done this, press play so we can dive in to filling in the info for the segments and then piecing the puzzle together.

Today we are working with the Meridian Clock.

If you haven't already done so,

Please take a moment to draw a circle on a piece of paper,

Dividing that circle into 12 segments.

And now that you have your clock face,

We are going to label each of these segments.

So the segment at the top of the clock is hot and the time related is 11am to 1pm.

Next segment to the right of that is the small intestine and the time is 1 to 3pm.

In the time 3 to 5pm we have bladder,

5 to 7pm kidney,

7 to 9pm circ 6 or pericardium,

9 to 11pm triple warmer,

Sometimes also known as triple burner,

11pm to 1am gallbladder,

1 to 3am liver,

Lung is 3 to 5am,

5 to 7am is large intestine and 7 to 9am is stomach.

But the last segment for the spleen 9 to 11am.

So if your segments have been divided equally you should see that the heart is opposite gallbladder.

In other words 11am to 1pm is opposite to 11pm to 1am.

So the complementary a.

M.

And p.

M.

Times should ideally be opposite each other for your ease of reference.

So now we are going to group these segments even further.

So you can just indicate for yourself heart and small intestine.

They are partnered because they fall into the element of fire.

Bladder and kidney are a couple.

They are in water.

Circ 6 or pericardium and triple warmer or burner they are also part of fire.

Gallbladder and liver they are partners in wood.

Lung and large intestine are a couple in the metal element.

Stomach and spleen they are a couple in the earth element.

So how can we use this meridian clock?

It's always useful to know when a particular meridian is most active.

You can experiment flashing that meridian at the related time when it is most active or at the time when it is least active.

And the time when it is least active is the time opposite the clock.

In other words the a.

M.

Or p.

M.

Version of it.

So spleen which is active between 9 and 11 a.

M.

Is least active between 9 and 11 p.

M.

That's when triple warmer relating to our immune system is quite busy.

So there is no right and there is no wrong.

It's about listening to the body at any given time and perhaps even using the pendulum or muscle testing,

Body testing to find out which of these meridians is most beneficial for me to work with.

And then is there a complementary meridian to work together with the initial meridian?

And then looking at the clock one can start to see some links.

So for example if you are having certain issues that are repetitive and they're repetitive at specific times then by referring to the meridian clock you're able to start understanding where it's taking place in the holistic body.

So if you feeling discomfort between 7 and 9 a.

M.

Regularly well we know that that is the stomach meridian.

It's the young partner to spleen.

They are both part of earth.

Earth needs a lot of grounding.

Now this can rise in certain emotions or energy levels,

Feelings in the body,

Feelings around the body.

And a useful way to really start to take note of what's going on for you in your holistic body is to keep a little journal.

And it's not about writing long full sentences.

It's more about these little occurrences that happen that sometimes we so often forget about until they are happening very loudly or very frequently.

By regularly jotting down these little notes of okay it's this time,

This is the date,

This is what I'm noticing.

And then a little bit later in the day and the next day and the next day over a period of few weeks you will start to see patterns especially if you now refer that information to the meridian clock.

And if you would like to know more about the symptoms and challenges for each meridian and the element that they are in,

I do provide this in a meridian therapy course here on Insight Timer.

And along with that you will be guided to actually flush and treat the related meridians as well as receive guidance on how to work with them in other ways.

What is the best nutrition?

What other lifestyle techniques and habits are supportive for the related meridian?

Working with that in conjunction with this meridian clock will allow you to take your self-diagnosis and treatment to a deeper level.

Let's look at another example.

Perhaps you're waking up regularly between 3 and 5 a.

M.

We see on the clock this is related to the lung meridian.

So you can go and research on the meridian therapy course how to work with the lung meridian.

If you're struggling with certain issues with the large intestine which is also part of the metal element like the lung,

The lung meridian is the yin partner in the metal couple.

And in each couplet if you are having something show up in one of the young partners,

Small intestine,

Bladder,

Stomach,

Large intestine,

Gallbladder,

Triple warmer,

You would treat its partner in that element.

Now let's say you have an issue with the bladder.

Perhaps you have direct issues with the actual organ or maybe it's just something that's continuously taking place between 3 to 5 p.

M.

In the afternoon.

You can treat its partner the kidney meridian.

However if the issue has been there for a while,

A couple of months,

Maybe even years,

Then you're going to need to look further afield and an easy way to do that is to look at the group,

The element following the one you are working in.

So we're looking at bladder at the moment which is in the group of water.

So we go to the next element after water which is fire.

There we see circ 6 and triple warmer and you work with the yin meridian there.

So here it would be circulatory reproductive or pericardium.

It's both the same meridian,

It's just different names.

And you might even now notice,

Oh yes,

There is something happening then as well.

At the same time you can see that that one is active between 7 to 9 p.

M.

It's not always necessarily the case,

Sometimes it is,

But there may be other traits in the fire element in general that you notice are either overactive or underactive and then you start to see the dots joining and that's when it gets very exciting.

Now talking about the fire element,

You will notice that there are two sections on the meridian clock for fire and only one for all of the other elements.

This is because fire has four meridians.

The ordinary meridians,

The main meridians are the heart and the small intestine.

The extraordinary are the other two.

So another way to work with the fire element is if something in water comes up for you or if something in triple warmer or circulatory meridians come up for you,

You can treat the heart meridian.

So heart meridian as we can see is supportive for quite a few areas.

Supportive for itself,

It's supportive for small intestine because it's the yin partner.

It's supportive for the two extraordinary fire meridians.

It is supportive for the water element meridians and it's also supportive for the gallbladder because gallbladder is opposite on the meridian clock and that goes for all the other meridians.

So a gentle way to stimulate the liver if the liver is very very tender you can work with the small intestine.

If the stomach is very very tender you can work with circulatory or reproductive meridian.

You can work with circ-6 meridian.

Remembering now that circ-6 also gets a lot of support from the heart because it's the yin partner in fire.

So you could then also treat the stomach with the heart and there we see how the heart is supporting again so many other meridians.

That brings us to the end of this short guide on using the meridian clock,

This easy self-help tool.

If you have any questions please do leave them in the comment box.

I wish for you much enjoyment of flashing your meridians and self-treating yourself.

Until we meet again,

Do take care.

Thank you 🙏 this track helped me to understand the pairings. I have attached notes around a clock alternating am/pm with affirmations as a helpful reminder 🕰️
