Welcome and thank you so much for joining me in this contemplation on gradual advancing.
In the I Ching,
This hexagram number 53 is sometimes also entitled Gradually Progressing.
Please join me in a few gentle breaths.
As we use the breath to guide our focus inwards.
As you exhale.
Release any and all past focus or distractions.
And as you breathe in,
Breathe in calm,
And any other intention that you would like to bring into this space as we move towards receiving a transmission.
Before that,
Let's exhale once more,
Grounding the exhalation into the earth.
And then inhaling.
Inhaling life.
And all the beautiful offerings of life.
Once more,
Exhaling,
Letting go.
Perhaps pausing after this relief.
And then return to the inbreath.
And thereafter simply allow your breath to find its natural rhythm.
Grounding the body.
Quietening the nervous system.
And now,
In presence.
Let us set our intention.
As we connect with our heart center,
Perhaps hands together over the heart.
Please repeat with me.
I trust.
The wisdom I am receiving from this ancient teaching.
Along with my own inner garden.
Is aligned with my highest good.
For the greater good of all.
Breathe in trust into your heart.
And then exhale let go of any intentional or even unintentional expectations.
Remaining in presence.
Calmly grounded.
And gently observe the responses that come through.
In various ways to this teaching.
You might notice thoughts,
You might notice sensations in the body.
You might notice symbolic representations coming through,
And this can sometimes not make sense in the beginning.
Just relax into the observer position.
Because over time,
The unfolding continues and becomes more crystallized.
So this transmission is often taught through the imagery of a marriage ceremony.
So imagine a couple are getting married.
And this process is now unfolding.
From the moment when the hand of marriage is asked for.
To the time of the actual ceremony.
Is usually more than 24 hours.
In other words,
There is timing and patience involved with this unfolding.
Sometimes a couple can be engaged for a year,
Even three.
And in that time,
There is much preparation.
Family and friends get together.
So much is discussed.
And a lot of thought and care goes into all of these preparations.
From the tiniest detail present on the tables.
To the vows.
And all of this forms part of this experience.
Which then moves forward into and important.
And life-changing experience.
So while we are not looking for experiences that are in similar nature to marriage,
Instead,
We are focusing on the process.
And all the preparation.
It involves.
In other words,
When working with a goal.
A project no matter how small or large.
When this hexagram,
This transmission comes through for you.
It is asking for your attention to detail.
For your patience.
And for you to trust the process of unfolding that something great is unfolding in its own time.
And if that is forced,
Many important steps.
Can be missed out.
And this will affect the overall.
Achievement.
So think now of something that you are working with.
Might be something intentional.
But it might also be something internal that's been working and brewing on the inside,
Perhaps a transformation.
That's taking place.
And now.
.
.
This message is coming through as an encouragement.
For you to know that slow and persistent progress.
Is supporting all the work that you are doing internally and externally.
The I Ching says,
By progressing in small successive steps,
You will be assured of omitting nothing important.
Will also be a laudable example to others.
And when you finally reach your goal,
You will be able to savour the sense of satisfaction and achievement.
Sit with this message for a few moments.
Notice your first responses.
Turning to the imagery,
We see the lower trigram in this hexagram is one of the mountain,
And above that is the wind.
Wind brings gentle change.
And the elements linked to the wind is wood.
Wood is represented by the tree.
So we could also see this imagery as a tree on top a mountain.
Tree as we know.
And take many cycles of the moon.
To grow and strengthen.
And blossom into its full expression of fruition.
Once again,
We notice this theme of patience.
And along with this,
Beautiful imagery of a tree on top of a mountain.
Imagine climbing a mountain when you finally reach the top and you're tired and you're hot.
To have raced beneath the shade of a tree.
To lean against its trunk and to feel your nervous system regulating with this beautiful being of nature.
And so this is the type of reward.
That is available.
Through our patient and persistent efforts.
More words from the I Ching say,
Make sure as you progress that your conduct and motives remain correct and orderly.
This,
In conjunction with your conscientious sense of purpose,
Will result in improvement for yourself those in your close circle.
Maintaining this constant effort at self-improvement on a long-term plan.
Which does not look for short-term rewards.
Is no different from making steady progress to a worthy outcome that has benefits for all.
As you once more contemplate.
A very personal message for you.
These holders in your heart.
And connect with it again a few times over the next few days.
Allowing it to strengthen.
And guide you.
Just as you need to in alignment with your soul's design.
