Before starting a meeting, let's take a moment to center ourselves. This practice will help you and your team find grounding, putting you in a state of calm and focus to tackle any agenda for the day. This was specially done for Insight Timer's @Work library. @Work is a mindfulness program for the modern workplace, offering workplace-specific support and tools to foster connection and belonging among employees.

Before starting this meeting,

Let's take a moment to center ourselves.

Place your hands on your abdomen and breathe deeply three times at your own pace.

As you breathe in,

Your belly expands.

As you breathe out,

It comes back to its place.

Now breathe normally and see if you can hear the sound of your own breath.

See if you can hear the person next to you breathing.

Now take a moment to center yourself in your body.

Feel the sensation of your clothes touching your skin.

Feel the sensation of air touching your hands and your face.

Notice if there is tension anywhere in your body.

If you find it,

Then consciously release it with every exhalation.

Now bring your attention to your mind and notice the type of thoughts that are coming up right now.

Notice if there are any worries about what's going to happen in the meeting.

Become aware of the expectations and judgments that may be popping up.

Observe them all passing by like cars in a busy road.

Become aware of any intentions and feelings that you're bringing in to this meeting,

Here and now.

Now as a final step,

Let's cultivate some clarity.

Ask yourself the following three questions and remain silent within yourself,

Observing what answers come.

First,

What is the purpose of this meeting?

Second,

What is the most important thing that you want to get from this meeting?

Third,

What is the most important thing you want to contribute to this meeting?

Okay,

Now you're ready to spend the next few minutes in a way that is calm,

Centered and focused.

Without further ado let's give a shout out to our panelists.
