Welcome to this guided meditation for calm and safety.
We're going to focus on connecting to the earth and allow that to help to support us,
Whatever we may be going through.
Please find a comfortable seat for your meditation.
Sit up on a cushion so that your spine can be tall and natural.
Feel free to sit back on something if you need to,
Or even lie down if you experience pain while sitting.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze in front of you.
Take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Allow your shoulders to settle.
Feel the weight of your body resting on the earth and the way the earth rises up to meet your body.
Allow your breath to slow a little.
You don't need to necessarily let your body rest on the earth.
You don't need to necessarily change anything here.
Just imagine your breath settling and slowing.
Now drop your awareness down into your heart.
Imagine your energetic heart right in the center of your chest.
Breathe there.
Notice what you feel.
Now drop your awareness into the bowl of your pelvis.
Imagine the center of your pelvis,
The center of your gravity.
Connecting to a sense of balance and awareness of your body in space.
And now drop your awareness lower down into the earth below you.
Far down below your seat,
Below the floor,
Into the soft dark dirt of the earth beneath your body.
Imagine your body settling into a furrow in the deep earth.
It is warm here,
Dark and quiet.
The earth is holding you with all her wisdom.
The earth has a long memory.
She's seen life,
Death and life over and over and over again.
She knows these cycles intimately.
She is holding you in everything you are.
The darkness,
The light,
The fear,
The hope.
She understands all of it.
As you rest with her in this deep furrow of earth,
You're receiving nourishment and replenishment.
She is holding you with all the softness and understanding of the mother that she is.
She is the material that you're made from.
She is matter,
The connection of everything that exists on earth.
She is the source of life,
Food,
Growth,
Support and possibility.
She knows how to transform one thing into another.
She understands the deep cycles of life and the universe.
The earth reminds you of time,
Space and evolution.
The earth reassures you that you are right where you need to be right now,
And that state will inevitably change.
She reminds you that you can handle this just fine.
You feel your body settling into this loving,
Supportive earth embrace.
You feel your eyebrows widening,
Your jaw releasing,
Your belly soft.
You are at home here,
Receiving earth medicine.
You remember who you are,
Which is a part of the eternal earth.
In this place,
Tucked into a warm furrow of earth,
You are a seed.
You have planted yourself here in this eternal place,
Where you can take as much rest and nourishment as you need.
Eventually,
It will be time for you to grow up from this seed and emerge from the earth,
But that doesn't have to happen right now.
Trust that the emerging of the seed will happen at its own pace.
When you feel ready,
Bring your hands up to your heart and gently bow your head to the warmth and nourishment of the earth,
Which is always with you,
Always holding you there whenever you need it.
Thank the earth in your own way,
Silently or out loud,
With whatever words feel right,
Including,
Simply,
Thank you.
