Gossip No Longer Excites You
Gossip or lack of is one of the ultimate signs of maturity. Now, this doesn’t mean you’re a bad person if you indulge in a little bit of gossip or small talk. There is a healthy dose of this, and then a more immature take on the topic of gossip. We are humans after all and we will at times be involved with this kind of small talk. It’s all about how involved you are and how you react to some of this talk. We’ll go over some key points about gossip or small talk that you should be aware of that leads you more to mature thinking.

Sleep Is Better Than A Night Out
This is a generalization where getting proper rest is likely better than being out very late at night. This topic is more about finding balance and making sound decisions when you have to decide to stay home, or go out and do something. This is usually associated with mature behavior because some may think being out late at night is associated with trouble. You may have heard the phrase, nothing good happens after midnight. This can be true but not always the case. Some listeners may be starting this lesson and immediately say, well this isn’t a problem for me because I always prefer to stay in. In this lesson we'll go over some ways that getting rest, or staying in can be more beneficial than a night out.

Forgiving Is Easy
A sign of maturity is being able to forgive easily. Part of the reason this is true is because usually someone at a mature level can forgive easily and just move on. By forgiving easy, it doesn’t mean that you accept negative behavior, but you can just choose to no longer deal with it after that forgiveness. You’ll have to be careful here because you don’t want to be treated as a doormat but this sign of maturity is more about taking the high road for the sake of your mental health. We’ll go through some tips on how to forgive a bit easier.

Open Mindedness And Respecting Differences
Being open minded is a great sign of maturity because you allow yourself to be open to things that you may not always agree with. When you respect differences, you don’t be combative because even if you do not agree, you can respect those different views. Keeping an open mind allows you to be more adaptable, understanding, and receptive to new ideas and perspectives. This doesn’t mean you have to agree with those new and different perspectives, but it helps you engage in good healthy conversation and share thoughts and ideas. We'll go over 10 ways to cultivate an open mind and respect differences.

Don't Force Love And Learn To Accept Heartbreak
Love and heartbreak are areas in life that can really test the maturity of people. This is a topic that can have endless material because everyone's situation is different. We'll condense this lesson to focus on 2 areas for the topic of love and that is to not force love, and to learn to accept heartbreak. These are 2 areas if people can handle these well, they are in a mature state. We'll go through some ways to not force love and to accept heartbreak.

Don't Judge Easily
When you think about not judging people or situations, it really takes a mature person to not judge. You may be put in situations and then have a tendency to be quick to judge. But what if you’re first reaction is to not cast judgment? Wouldn’t that be a great thing? Avoiding quick judgment can lead to more understanding and empathetic interactions. It also helps with becoming respectful. We'll go through some strategies on how to refrain from judging others too easily.

Ignoring Nonsense
Ignoring nonsense may mean different things for different people. But, ignoring nonsense, whether it's unconstructive criticism, gossip, or irrelevant distractions, can help you maintain focus and peace of mind. in turn, this helps with your maturity as a person. Really anything that is not going to be valuable for you and your life, you can mark that as nonsense. In this lesson we’ll go over some ways to help you ignore nonsense. We'll go over some strategies on how to effectively ignore nonsense.

Happiness For Yourself, Not Others
When you do things for yourself and not to please others, you are in a mature state because you are thinking about the overall grand scheme of things. This doesn’t necessarily mean exactly yourself but you can include your family in here as well. What this more means is that you are living your life to your expectations and doing the things you want to. Do things for yourself and your family because you want to. Living for yourself, rather than for others, involves making choices that align with your own values, desires, and well-being. We’ll talk about a few ways to look at doing this better.
