If you've ever felt like you're carrying unnecessary pressure and weight on your shoulders,
This meditation is for you.
I invite you to close your eyes.
Wherever you are,
Allow your forehead to unfrown,
Your eyes to relax,
Your jaw to unclench,
Your belly to untighten,
And your breath to be soft and fluid.
You can relax your shoulders even 1% more.
Imagine that you are walking down a cobblestone street.
It's uneven and you're actually carrying a backpack.
And you see that you actually also have to grab the straps so to lighten the load a little bit.
The backpack is filled with what seems like bricks,
But you're so unsure as to what and why you've been carrying this the whole way.
You've been walking for already a few days.
You notice how that feels in your body right now.
To imagine that you've been walking a few days with this backpack on cobblestone street.
And now you look down towards the feet and you notice that you're wearing the most uncomfortable shoes.
Heels maybe.
You're like,
Why would I even wear these shoes on this type of terrain?
Just like life can have some flat surfaces,
Some slopes,
Some mountains.
The cobblestone street is a mirror to the type of uncertain surface you can walk on throughout your life.
And you notice that those shoes,
You don't have to wear them,
But they kind of feel forced on.
Like if you didn't have any other pair of shoes than that one.
How does it feel in your body right now?
Without judgment,
Just be with the sensation of what this visualization is bringing up for you.
As uncomfortable as it can be,
Notice if the mind is trying to take you to make sense of it and come back to the vision and to the feeling in your body.
As you're walking and you're feeling maybe some heaviness,
Some pressure,
Like there's not really another street you can walk on.
Don't worry,
It will get more comfortable.
I want you here to please feel into what could you be carrying?
Not think about what you could be carrying,
But what you are feeling you might be carrying.
Just like a pop,
Like your intuition,
Your deepest wisdom,
Your higher self can be speaking to you right now in this vision.
What's in your metaphorical backpack?
Are there any rules that you are forcing yourself to abide by?
Are there situations in which you think and believe you don't have any other choice?
Do you feel like you should,
Need to,
Or have to do specific things in your life?
Like putting everyone else before your needs?
Knowing what everyone else wants,
Except knowing what you really want?
How does that make you feel in your body right now?
Imagine that in front of you,
You see a bench by the side of the cobblestone street and you feel great.
I'm so,
I'm so psyched.
I'll be sitting on the bench and relaxing.
You go towards the bench and you see there's a box under the bench.
It says,
Put your shoes in here.
And by the side of the bench,
There's a hook.
You can actually hook your backpack there.
And before you do anything,
Notice in your body what it feels like to have this choice right now.
And in the visualization,
You take the backpack off,
You hang it onto the hook by the side of the bench.
You pull the box from under the bench and you take your uncomfortable shoes off and you notice that they've kind of kept your,
They've made your feet feel pretty uncomfortable,
Pretty sore.
And there's even like a red mark on your feet.
Put the box back under the bench with the shoes in it and notice how you feel right now in your body.
And before you sit or even think about sitting,
You notice that on the bench there's an arrow pointing for you to keep going on your path.
And notice how you feel because now you don't have those uncomfortable shoes anymore.
You don't have the pressure and the weight of the backpack.
So it kind of feels more easy to keep going on the path.
Notice that in your body.
And as you make the decision to keep going,
You look ahead and you see that there's a big door further down the path and you see that around the door.
There's light.
You see there's something else behind the door.
So you walk towards it.
Notice how you feel and you see the doorknob and you come to open the door and you are showered with this huge wave of beautiful support,
Of weightlessness,
Of lightness,
Of an energy that embraces who you are without the backpack and without the uncomfortable shoes.
Notice how this feels in your body.
And from this place,
I invite you to notice if there's anything that your higher self,
Your deepest wisdom,
Your intuition,
That light is sharing with you.
Is there anything you need to know about what you've been carrying about moving on in your path without the uncomfortable shoes and the weight?
And see if you can find some physical relief.
And from here,
Let's take three breaths together.
With every breath on your own time,
Imagine that you are breathing into the bones,
Into the flesh of your physical body,
Into your veins.
With each exhale,
You feel more grounded into your body,
Into the room you are in.
When you are ready,
Start to move the fingers very slowly as if you were waking up lighter and as a new person.
Find a smile on your heart and a smile on your face.
Remember that you have a choice.
You can choose to no longer carry other people's expectations of you,
External pressure,
Other people's desires.
You no longer need to walk a path to fit a specific mold.
You can choose the pair of shoes you wish to wear.
Now you can choose what you put into your backpack.
Now,
Maybe there's no backpack at all.
Remember that you have this confidence,
This inner wisdom,
This inner capacity to be your own powerful being.
You have it in you.
Namaste.
