Nestling yourself into a favorite posture,
A favorite space for non-sleep,
Deep rest.
Gathering whatever props you think that you might need for your body,
For the surface around you,
Dimming the lights,
Any essential oils.
Pause the recording as you need,
Coming back when you're ready.
Once you're ready,
Notice if there's any obvious spaces where you can relax in your body.
Maybe your hands are clenched,
Your jaw is clenched,
Maybe your eyebrows are furrowed or your shoulders are up towards your ears.
If need be,
Take a breath in and as you exhale,
See if you can melt some of that tension away with the intention for today's practice to let go.
Let everything go that you know,
Everything that you know from your past.
Let everything go from what you think you know about your future.
Let everything go that you know about your environment.
When we move away from these concepts of thinking of the mind,
Objects,
Judgments of these objects,
We start to go into that state of being,
A state of no longer analyzing or judging or discerning.
Now we can turn all of that off and just be,
Coming to be with your body and your breath.
Breathe in slowly,
Mentally repeat to yourself,
Let,
Slowly as you exhale,
Go.
You can breathe it out from your mouth or through your nose.
Your inhalation through the nose,
Slowly taking a few more rounds.
If the power of visualization images come to your mind that you need to let go of,
See them being swept away.
You're in this process of release.
After your next exhalation,
Let your breath return back to a natural state.
Imagining you're on a cloud,
The most comfortable cloud that hugs your body in the way that you need it to be hooked.
Softly,
Firmly,
Deeply,
However you like it.
You're on a cloud floating above and beyond everything that you know.
Able to just let go.
Noticing your muscles,
Starting with the muscles around your face.
Noticing the muscles around your eyes and your forehead.
Beginning softening,
Relaxing the right and the left eyebrow.
The space between your eyebrows.
Your eyes,
The right and the left eye,
Sinking towards the back of your skull.
The muscles around your eyes,
Softening like butter.
Around the temples,
The inner ears,
Everything soft.
The cheeks,
The bridge of your nose,
Right nostril,
Left nostril,
The muscles around the lips.
The lips are gently apart,
The teeth are relaxed,
The gums are soft,
The tongue relaxed.
The lower jaw,
Sliding away from the upper jaw.
The chin,
The throat,
The muscles around the neck,
The front,
The sides,
The back of your neck.
All relaxed,
Like a waterfall moving down your neck,
Relaxing.
The temperature of the water is perfect,
Touching on your skin exactly the way you like it.
From your shoulders,
The water cascades down your arms,
The upper arms,
The lower arms,
The palms of your hands,
The backs of your hands.
Running down the fingers to the fingertips.
It's a sense of release and cleansing,
Washing away any emotional,
Psychic debris.
Travel your awareness to your collarbones,
That waterfall moving down,
Down the neck,
Down the front of your torso.
Running down the upper chest,
Middle chest,
Softening into your belly.
On the back side,
From the back of your neck,
Down your shoulders,
The space between your shoulder blades,
Your spine,
Your middle back,
Your lower back,
Sides of the waist.
The water cascades down the hips,
Relaxing and releasing the legs,
Down the knees,
Shins and calves,
The ankles,
The ankles,
Tops of your feet,
Your soles of feet.
The water cascading down the toes,
Soothing,
Cleansing,
Releasing.
Just imagining this water cascading down,
Finding any nooks and crannies,
To relax,
To carry away and transport away any stress,
Any fears,
Any anxieties.
Just let them wash away,
Completely detached as you let go.
You no longer hold on to this,
You no longer carry the weight of this.
You can feel your breath,
Your body,
Free,
Free as you float away on this cloud.
Noticing your breath and the rhythm,
Every inhalation pumps life force,
Oxygen,
Into your body.
Every exhalation carries away,
Transports away what no longer serves you.
Let yourself relax peacefully on the cloud.
Feel the vastness of the universe around you.
You are resting,
A state of deep rest,
In this expansive quantum field.
Now that you've let go,
What is it that you want to invite in?
Do you want to invite in courage,
Or wonder,
Or patience,
Or discernment?
Now that you're empty,
What is it that you want to fill your vessel with?
Your body,
Your mind,
Your spirit.
Mentally repeat it,
Receive it,
Fill yourself up with your intentions,
Now that you've let go.
Coming out of your state of deep rest,
Now that you've let go.
Appreciation for this time and this place and this space that you've created for yourself to flourish.
You can stay in this position for as long as you like.
When you're ready,
Slowly taking your time,
Making your way out of this position.
Slowly reintegrating yourself back into your day or your evening.
