Welcome to your daily meditation.
Today we will move our thoughts from expectation to appreciation.
It's the small ways we choose to see the many layers of our lives that make a difference.
Profound shifts can happen when we trade expectation for appreciation.
So let's begin by finding a comfortable seat or lying down.
Soften or close your eyes and begin to shift your attention inward towards your breath.
Taking a few rounds to just observe the natural flow and state.
We'll begin to deepen our breath by actively guiding your inhales into your belly and widening out through your ribcage.
And then as you release,
Blow it out the mouth.
Let's do a couple more rounds together.
Inhaling in through the nose,
We'll fill up the belly.
Widen out through the ribcage and move it up into the chest,
Holding just for a moment.
And then exhale out the mouth.
Just let everything go.
One more like that.
Inhale,
Belly expands,
Widen through the ribcage,
Up into the chest,
And hold here at the top.
And open mouth,
Exhale.
Just let everything go.
Now just return to your natural state,
Continuing to breathe low into your body as you fill up with thoughts of appreciation.
And as you exhale,
Release the expectations that hold you back from truly seeing all that surround you.
And allow these thoughts of appreciation to fill the tranquil space of your mind and gently release the weight of expectation as you exhale.
I will speak some words of affirmation as you breathe here.
Take in what fits and just let go of everything else.
You can repeat them to yourself or just let the words pass through.
I welcome the warm embrace of appreciation.
I allow gratitude to fill my heart and soul.
I let go of my need for things to be a certain way and I embrace the beauty of what is.
I recognize the countless blessings that surround me,
From the simplest joys to the most profound experiences.
I trade expectation for appreciation.
I find peace in the present moment.
I am filled with a sense of wonder and gratitude for all that life has to offer.
Now on your next inhale,
Fill up from the belly,
Widen out through the ribcage and pull the air up into your chest,
Holding here as you remind yourself and remember that happiness is not found in chasing after what you desire but embracing and cherishing what you already have and exhale out the mouth.
Just let it go.
In this state of mindful awareness,
You are free from the chains of expectation and open to the infinite possibility of each moment,
Allowing yourself to fully experience the richness of life.
As you deepen your connection to the present moment,
You are anchoring yourself in the here and now,
Grateful for the opportunity to navigate your life in the direction of appreciation.
