Welcome to this 15 minutes for 30 days moving through a soul art process that I've been on.
This is the soul art that I've been working with.
I've just kind of hung it here for the next 30 days.
And I'm going to show you different pictures of the process.
We're going to talk about different insights that have come through the journey.
The soul art is done,
But I'm still on the journey.
And that's the beautiful thing.
I'm still on the journey until the spirit action is completed.
And yeah,
Yeah.
So we're going to talk a little bit today about a process that happened while I was in the journey,
When I was in the middle of making the soul art.
But let's just start by getting grounded.
Let's just find ourselves where we're at.
So maybe you want to close your eyes.
Maybe you just want to take a breath and feel the air come into your body and feel your air leave the body and feel the quality of air as you bring it in and out and what it feels like to gently let it wash into you and wash out of you.
So closing your eyes,
Just inhaling through your nose.
And exhaling through your mouth.
Just feel the quality of air as you inhale and you exhale,
Inhaling through your nose.
And exhale through your mouth,
Feeling the quality of air,
What it feels like for that air to cycle through your body.
In the next exhale,
You're going to just allow a body part to gently move to release.
I'm not saying like a big shake.
You know,
Sometimes we shake things out and we go,
Ah,
Right?
We're not doing that today.
We're just inhaling the air through our nose.
And then on the exhale,
I just want you to let a body part gently move.
Feel the shift as you exhale and release.
So inhaling through your nose.
And on the exhale just Allow a body part to gently move where it wants to move.
We're not forcing anything.
Inhaling through the nose you might even still want to move on the inhale maybe a gentle stretch And on the exhale,
Feel where your body wants to move to release.
We'll do this like three more times.
Inhaling,
Maybe you feel that stretch on your inhale.
And on the exhale,
Just allow your body to move.
Gently not that shaking even though there's a beautiful thing to shaking today we're just allowing it to move And your body and your body weight even to move and shift.
Just where it wants to go.
In two more,
Inhale through your nose.
You might feel that stretch.
And the exhale just allow yourself to feel that gentle movement and release.
And last time.
Inhaling.
And exhaling.
And just notice for a minute what brought you here today.
Just notice what was interesting to you,
What brought you here.
What we're going to talk about today is the idea of destruction.
Versus sacred release or maybe like pushing and forcing kind of like that shake shake it's not really pushing or forcing but that like more crazy kind of movement um as opposed to that gentle release and it's very divine in its own right right So it's about forcing change versus creating ritual.
So I'm going to start.
Yesterday we started with showing up,
Right?
I am showing up for myself.
That was the intention I was speaking about.
That was the intention that became the soul art.
And today we're going to work more with what happens when I show up for myself,
Right?
And I realize something has to change.
Something has to change and how do i how do i move through that right underneath this this artwork is a bunch of excuses ways that I abandoned myself,
Things that I say to myself,
Things that I point out to myself,
All kinds of stuff.
And I'll show you,
This is just a part of it.
But if you can see,
I have a body map and then you can see there's all kinds of writing on this page,
Right?
And that's,
It was holding all of the ways that I abandoned myself.
It was holding everything.
And it had this outline of my body in a bunch of different directions.
So you can kind of see all of where my legs are.
There's my intention up there,
Went to I am showing up for myself.
But there's words all in here.
And it even got more.
I just kept going with the words.
Okay.
Once I was done with that,
I was like,
Oh,
I need to get rid of this.
So this is what it became.
Right i was like i don't want to see these things i don't want them to bleed through my paint right so it became this and then i didn't know what to do with that so then it became this This was my soul art originally.
And I sat with it and I looked at it and I was like,
Oh,
This has to change.
This has to change.
And I had changed the intention to I am showing up for myself.
And I was like,
This is not OK.
And what I did,
Instead of ripping the paper,
Instead of like getting frustrated,
Starting over,
I just sat with it for a minute.
I said,
What wants to change?
And I realized I wanted to soften.
So I took the whole page and I put it in the bath.
In the bathtub and I sat with it and I let my hands go over and it was dry paint so it wasn't like paint that was getting in the water or anything it was acrylic And I just started like massaging it.
I was like,
I'm going to be gentle with myself.
I'm going to be gentle with all of these things that I hold and all these ways that I've abandoned myself.
I'm going to be gentle.
I'm going to show up for myself.
Right.
So it was in the bath and I was I was massaging it and I was wrinkling it and I was kind of like holding it.
And I would lift it up and I'd let it drip down and then I'd lift it up and I'd watch the water drip over it,
Knowing that all of my words were underneath.
Right.
All of my all of my excuses,
All of everything was underneath.
And I was just like.
No paint was coming off,
But it was like this ritual,
This process that I just,
I was so taken with how the water was going down the paper when it was wrinkled and messy and like,
You know,
And I felt it in my hands.
It became very,
Very like,
So the acrylic on top was hard,
But the paper underneath was becoming,
Oh,
So gentle,
Like so delicate.
So my paint was holding it,
But the paper underneath was becoming delicate.
So what did I do?
I took it out.
I rang it.
I rang it up.
You know,
Got as much water as I could out and I flattened it on the floor on towels like I was taking care of it.
It was like my baby,
Right?
All these parts of me that abandoned myself,
They are still a part of me,
Right?
They took care of me for a little bit,
Right?
So I put it on this towel and I laid it out and I very gently with my hands began to start to flatten it and let it dry that way,
Right?
And what happened is this amazing texture that,
Like this amazing texture came out of it,
Very hard to paint on.
So I gave myself a little bit of an issue,
But I had fun with it.
And by the time I took it out and laid it out and it was flat,
Next.
Right.
I knew there needed to be a change and I didn't just rip it up and throw it out and start over.
I was like,
You know what?
I'm going to honor this.
I'm going to honor this side of me.
And I'm going to almost like I want to say almost baptized it.
I created this ritual and I cleansed it.
And then when it was dry,
I was able to move into the next piece of this,
Which is the background and the cherry blossoms.
So I didn't destroy it in frustration.
Instead,
I used what I had in front of me and I decided to gently and softly begin to take care of it.
And give it a cleanse and clear it so i i've done this in solar before where i've just ripped it up and moved on sometimes that that it calls for that but when we're working with really vulnerable places in ourselves it's like can i honor this can i do it with ritual can i do it with sacredness so my questions for you where have you been afraid to let something transform Where have you been afraid to throw your painting into the bath?
And work with it right what would it feel like in your body to approach that situation with ritual not with force what would it feel like to honor it and cleanse it and clear it with ritual with sacred action with sacred intention instead of forcing it in your life Is there something in your life with words like,
Say,
Old stories or old tapes?
Right that's ready for a gentle release and when i say that it's like that first iteration all of those excuses all of those things that i abandoned myself with right those are ready for release they were ready for um for letting go so those words were on that paper and that's what i washed and then if you could create a ritual what would it look like?
If you could create a ritual for that thing that you've been afraid to let transform in your life.
What would it look like?
We're going to do a little visualization.
You can close your eyes and take a moment to imagine.
In your visualization,
Right?
Or even,
You don't have to see it.
Not everybody sees.
Not everybody sees when they close their eyes.
You can just know,
Right?
You can feel,
You can know.
But imagine with your eyes closed,
You're holding something in your life.
In your hands it might be something that needs to change that wants to transform it might be a book that you see with a strong old story It might be a cassette tape with an old tape that plays over in your mind,
Right?
What is it?
It might be a photo album,
Visuals that you have that you just want to let go.
So imagine yourself closing your eyes,
Holding in your hands.
Whatever that is that wants to transform,
That wants to change,
That wants to be released.
And picture it however you want.
Again,
It can be knowing,
It can be feeling,
Or it can be visually seeing it behind your eyes.
What is in your hands that you are ready?
To let go of to change to transform see it in your hands.
And I want you to feel the weight.
Of it in your hands.
As you imagine this.
Feel the weight of what you're carrying in your hands that's ready to change.
That's ready to transform,
That's ready to release.
Feel the weight of it not bad,
It's not wrong.
Remember,
These things served as one.
And now maybe we outgrew it.
Maybe we're ready.
The timing is right.
So feel the weight.
Feel what you've been holding on to.
Now imagine.
Taking your hands and that thing in your hands.
And bringing it to a source of water.
It might be a stream,
A brook,
The ocean.
Could be a tide pool.
Could be the faucet.
Imagine bringing those hands to that source of water that you're carrying,
That thing that you are ready to release,
To change and to transform.
And bring your hands into that water.
And watch.
Has what needs to release does.
From that thing in your hands.
You might imagine it.
Dissolving gently.
You might imagine it being washed over.
You might imagine it gently breaking apart.
See what the water does to this thing.
That you have been carrying.
Maybe you can feel the weight begin to lift.
And your hands are there.
They're strong.
They're clear.
There's intention in your hands bringing this thing to the water.
Just allowing yourself to watch as the water helps.
As you're in this ritual.
And you might notice that something wants to emerge.
Something else wants to shift into your hands.
Or you might notice that the water changes what's in your hands,
Changes the shape,
Changes the feel,
Changes the look.
So notice if anything wants to emerge.
In this cleansing.
Wants to emerge what what comes in in the space that you've created in your hands And then just take a moment,
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Open your mouth and let out a nice sigh with some sound.
Bring the vibration back to your body,
Back to the here and now.
Hmm.
This is about not forcing change,
But creating the sacred space,
Creating the rituals.
Honoring what's there,
Giving it space to change and transform,
That willingness to enter into the ritual,
Right?
That willingness to bring to the water,
Right?
And water may not be your big ritual,
But for me it was,
So I'm going to speak to that.
Your willingness to enter,
To start that process,
That ritual,
That place,
Right?
That's not destruction.
That's like a devotion to your becoming.
It's a devotion to see this is where I am.
This is what I have.
This is what I honor.
So sometimes it's really just about being with what is.
And willing to show up to bring it to the water.
So thank you so much for coming today.
I hope maybe throughout the day,
These things come into your mind at moments when you're hearing different insights from it.
Yeah wonderful thank you so much for coming these are just little 15 minutes for 30 days thank you so much for joining me today Namaste.
