Welcome.
I'm Jocelyn.
This is a yoga nidra and it was inspired by a recent soul art journey that I went on.
There are times in our lives when we really crave to feel the support of our ancestors,
Of our spirit guides,
Our spirit team,
And we want to be in communication with them.
And so this yoga nidra is about feeling the support of the universe,
Of our ancestors,
Of our spirit team.
So if you're ready,
You just might want to get yourself comfortable.
It might mean that you're laying down with maybe a pillow behind your neck or under your head,
Maybe a pillow under your knees to support your back.
I sometimes like to put a support of a pillow under my ankles.
You might want a blanket for warmth or an eye pillow to block out any light.
And just beginning to settle down,
Feeling the larger muscle groups of the body relax down and back.
Just bringing your awareness to your hips and your shoulders,
Your head.
Our head is heavy and we hold it up all day,
Allowing it to be supported and held,
And held,
And allowing your eyes to relax down and back.
And I use that word allow in a meaningful way.
We're not trying to push it or force anything.
We're just allowing the space in the room for the eyes to relax back.
All of the muscles behind the eyes,
Allowing the jaw to relax back,
The back of the tongue.
And as you begin to find yourself a little bit more relaxed,
You may even need to wiggle for a minute if there's anything uncomfortable as we get ready to be in stillness and make sure that you feel comfortable and supported.
And taking a moment to open your ears,
Allowing your inner ears to open,
Just allowing your inner ear to open up to the vibrations and the waves of vibrations and sounds that are around you.
And taking a bit of a deep breath,
Inhaling through your nose,
And opening your mouth and sighing it out.
And again,
Inhaling through your nose,
And again,
Inhaling through your nose,
And opening your mouth and sighing it out.
I like to put some sound on my breath.
It helps me to relax a little bit more.
And just continuing that deep breath and that release just a few more times in your own pace,
Inhaling,
And exhaling.
Inhaling,
And exhaling.
And can you imagine that just like we opened the inner ear to the vibrations and the sounds around you,
Could you open your heart,
Softening around your heart,
And opening to the vibrations around your heart?
A sankalpa is a heart's true intention or true north.
So softening around the heart,
Can you listen,
Can you open the ears of your heart to listen to what your heart is calling for right now?
Sankalpas are usually stated in the positive with an I am statement.
And you might be hearing your heart's call for your own sankalpa,
Or you might use I am open to feeling the support of the universe,
Or I am open to feeling the support of my ancestors and spirit team,
Or even I am open to the support and flow of the universe.
So,
Once you've settled on your sankalpa,
You're going to inhale,
And as you exhale,
Silently repeat to yourself your sankalpa.
We'll do this two more times,
Inhaling,
And exhaling,
Silently repeating your sankalpa.
And you can continue this.
I'm going to bring you through a rotation of consciousness,
Which is simply awareness and attention through different parts of the body.
It is effortless.
You don't have to do anything,
Just listen to my voice,
And allow your attention to rest gently on each body part that you hear me say.
Can you imagine almost like a drop of ancient elixir just landing gently on each body part that I mention?
And we'll start with the heart space.
And we'll start with the heart space.
Can you imagine a beautiful crystalline drop of ancient elixir gently landing on the heart space?
And the center of the throat.

Can you imagine a crystalline drop of ancient elixir landing gently on the right side of the body permeating the whole right side of the body?
Can you imagine a drop of ancient elixir landing on the whole left side of the body permeating down the entire left side?
And can you imagine a drop of crystalline ancient elixir landing in the heart space and permeating the whole body?
The whole body.
The whole body.
Taking a breath now.
Inhaling through your heart space.
And exhaling through your heart space.
Consciously aware of your breath but not trying to force it.
Just allowing your inhale and your exhale to come and go in their own time.
Inhaling through the heart space.
And exhaling through the heart space.
In your own time.
Inhaling and exhaling through the heart space.
And if you could imagine almost as if you threw a pebble into a pond and the ripples begin to expand allowing your breath to expand from your heart space with each inhale.
And contract in with each exhale.
Inhaling and expanding the ripples of your heart space.
And exhaling.
Contracting back in at your own time.
You can even imagine inhaling through your heart space and allowing that inhale to expand to your shoulders,
Your elbows,
Your wrists and your fingertips.
And then exhaling your fingertips,
Elbows,
Shoulders back to your heart space.
Inhaling through your heart space.
Your chest,
Your shoulders,
Your hands and even past your hands.
And exhaling back to your hands,
Your arms,
Your shoulders and your chest space.
Finding your natural flow of inhale.
And exhale.
Expanding the ripple of your heart space out on your inhale.
And contracting back and bringing it back into your heart space on your exhale.
And continuing like this for a few more breaths.
Inhaling.
And exhaling.
In your own time.
Bringing your attention to your body.
Can you notice places in your body where you feel that expansion,
That reaching out?
The spaciousness within your body.
Where do you feel the flexibility?
And the spacious expansion that's available to you in your body?
And now,
Can you imagine and can you feel into your body where you feel more of a contraction?
Where you're pulled in?
Where you're keeping it inside to yourself?
Can you feel the contractions in your body?
Where in your body do you feel like you're pulled in?
Going back to that feeling of expansiveness.
Where in your body do you feel like you can reach out?
That the energy can reach out and surge out of you?
Where can you connect outwardly in your body?
And where in your body do you feel the contraction,
The pull inward,
Your inward journey?
Where do you feel you are taking care of yourself,
Where your body is contracted in?
Might you be able to feel both the places where you are expansive and the places where you're contracted in?
Could you feel them both together?
The places where you're reaching out and the places where you're reaching in.
Can you feel them together at the same time?
Can you imagine the expansiveness of your heart rippling out and calling in?
Your ancestors.
Evergreen trees.
White rafting river.
The first light in a dark forest.
The ripples in a pond.
A turntable.
Hands at your heart.
Scores of angels at your back.
Your own wings unfurling.
Turquoise green.
Turquoise green.
And the sounds of alchemy.
Sunrise behind a mountain's peak.
And you with your wings.
And the angels that whisper into them.
Resting in silence for just a minute or two.
Bringing your attention back to your sankalpa or the sankalpa that you are working with.
Whether it be I am open to the support and flow of the universe.
I am open to feeling the support of my ancestors.
We are going to inhale and on the exhale silently repeat your sankalpa to yourself.
And we will do that three times.
So inhaling.
And silently repeating your sankalpa to yourself.
And two more times.
Inhaling.
And exhaling.
Silently repeating your sankalpa to yourself.
And one more time.
Inhaling.
And exhaling.
Silently repeating that sankalpa.
And beginning to deepen your breath.
Taking your inhale down into your belly.
Expanding your ribs and your chest.
And exhaling.
And again taking a nice deep breath down into your belly.
And inhaling.
And exhaling.
And exhaling.
And inhaling.
And exhaling.
And exhaling.
And inhaling.
And exhaling.
And exhaling.
Taking your inhale down into your belly.
Your ribs,
Your chest.
And exhaling.
And one more time.
Inhaling down deep into the belly.
Expanding into your ribs and your chest.
And on this third time when you open your mouth to exhale you can release some sound if you feel comfortable.
And you might want to wiggle your fingers or your toes.
You might want to flutter your eyes open a little.
Or even go for a full body stretch.
I really like to do a full body stretch at the end of a yoga nidra.
You might want to turn onto your side in a fetal position just for a few moments.
And when you're ready you can open your eyes.
And when you are ready you can go about your day.
Thank you so much for joining me in this yoga nidra.
It's a really special yoga nidra to me.
As I said in the beginning it was inspired by a soul art journey I recently went on.
And part of my learning from that journey has been that our ancestors and our angels and our spirit guides are always with us.
Always communicating with us.
It's just a matter of expanding our hearts to hear them.
So thank you so much.
I really feel honored to be able to guide yoga nidras and be a part of this beautiful practice.
Namaste.
