Greetings and welcome friends.
My name is Jessi and I'm happy you're here today as we will connect on the topic of chakras and more specifically the healing of our root chakra.
In its simplest definition and understanding,
Chakras are wheels of spinning energy that store the energetic imprints of our experiences.
Each chakra has its own spiritual and physical resonance,
Including a corresponding frequency,
Color,
Characteristic,
Age range,
Crystal or gemstone,
Just to name a few.
Remember,
Everything is connected.
By understanding the chakras,
We can engage another method to healing and wellness.
Generally,
The root chakra is located near the base of your spine,
Also referred to as your sacrum area.
You may hear the root chakra referred to as the first chakra or the muladhara.
The root chakra is connected to our survival needs,
Including meeting our basic needs,
Safety,
Stability,
Family and money.
The root chakra is believed to pull energy downward to give us strength and security.
Have you been running into things,
Tripping or stubbing your toes lately?
Trouble concentrating,
Daydreaming a lot or engaging in unhealthy boundaries?
Your root chakra could be unbalanced.
When our root chakra is blocked,
We may feel fearful,
Anxious,
Unsure,
Financial instability or perhaps ungrounded.
When our chakra is overactive,
We may feel greedy,
Aggressive,
Materialistic or cynical.
Our intention in today's session is to balance the root chakra.
When our root chakra is balanced,
We may feel safe,
Present,
Secure,
Grounded,
Aware and happy to be alive.
As we know,
Everything is energy and as we discussed earlier,
Some things hold the same frequency.
Considering gemstones and crystals,
If you have any garnet,
Black tourmaline,
Hematite or red jasper or really any red,
Black or earthy stone nearby,
Pause this and grab those stones to enhance today's healing practice.
After the meditation,
Other ways to continue to work with and honor your root chakra could be to eat foods that are earthy like carrots,
Beets or potatoes or red foods such as raspberries,
Cherries or tomatoes.
Herbs that support the root chakra include cloves,
Hibiscus and dandelion root.
You can also wear the color red or continue to use the affirmations that I'll share at the end of this practice.
Walk barefoot on the earth,
Get a pedicure or foot massage,
Do yoga or engage in movement.
Acknowledge yourself for taking the time to be here today,
For taking time for you to connect with yourself and to utilize self-care time in a meaningful way.
As a lifelong journaler,
I invite you to journal about your experience following the practice or to jot down any thoughts you may have later today connected to this practice.
Okay,
So let's begin to settle in.
Let's take a moment to clear our energy and to check in with ourselves to see how we're feeling in relation to our root chakra.
We will do this by using backs breathing techniques of inhaling for four counts,
Holding for four counts,
Exhaling for four counts and holding the lungs empty for another four counts.
We'll build two boxes or go through the backs breathing series twice and then we'll sit in silence for about 30 seconds.
If you can safely do so,
Sit or lie down so that you are comfortable and can fully engage in this healing meditation.
If you cannot safely sit or lie down,
Please pause this session until you can come back and do so.
Use this time to check in with your body and see how it is feeling.
Okay,
Let's begin our backs breathing technique.
Breathe in three,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold three,
Two,
One,
Out three,
Two,
One,
Hold three,
Two,
One,
Breathe in three,
Two,
One,
Hold three,
Two,
One,
Out three,
Two,
One,
Hold three,
Two,
One,
Breathe in.
Now that you've created space for this healing meditation through box breathing,
Take a moment to consider how you're feeling.
If you haven't already,
Return to your natural breath.
Use this time to make any adjustments to your body as we settle in for the next part of our session,
The meditation.
As you sit or lie comfortably,
Close your eyes and continue to be present in your space.
Feel your body where it is touching other surfaces,
Perhaps the earth,
The floor,
Or your bed.
Make note of all of the points of connection and feel supported,
Safe,
And held by the earth.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Sink a bit deeper into your space.
Fill the space with all of your beauty.
Visualize roots growing from the base of your spine,
Which is also where your root chakra is located.
Visualize these roots as thousands of thin ribbons and thick roots stabilizing your body as the roots drill down deep,
Deep into the earth.
As you breathe your natural breath,
Watch as the roots blast through or go around rock and magma,
Stretching down all the way to the core of the earth.
Feel how strong and supported you are,
Connected to the earth in such a powerful way,
Unwavering in your power because you are safe and supported.
Mother Earth is always here for you,
Protecting you.
Now that we are deeply rooted,
Let's focus on the bright white light emanating from above our crown chakra.
Feel the warmth and love from this white light on your skin.
Kisses from the universe,
Your angels,
Higher self,
Or whatever or whomever can share wisdom with you merely just by listening and being open.
Take a deep breath in and as you inhale,
Imagine the white healing light coming into your body through your crown chakra,
Cleansing every inch of your body.
And as you exhale,
Let go of any stale,
Stagnant energy that is no longer serving you.
Once more,
Deep breath in,
Breathing that white light reaching every pore of your body,
And breathe out,
Exhaling and clearing out any stale,
Stagnant energy.
At your next breath,
Breathe in the white light and rather than allowing it to swirl around your body,
Instead,
And with purpose,
Send the white light into your crown,
Through your third eye,
Throat,
And heart chakras,
Passing through your solar plexus,
Sacral chakra,
And stopping at your root chakra found at the base of your spine.
Take a note of how it is spinning.
Is it spinning fast?
Slow?
Is it barely moving?
What shade of red is the wheel of energy,
Also known as your root chakra?
Using the white healing light coursing through your crown chakra and down your spine,
Begin to use it to clean your root chakra.
Allow the white light to remove any grime and dirt that may be stored there from memories or stories we tell ourselves.
Let those go.
You no longer need those stories.
You are strong and the earth supports you.
Continue to breathe and as you do,
Allow that white light to heal your root chakra.
Let's take a few moments here to continue to use the white light to heal our root chakra.
Keep breathing.
Watch as your root chakra gets brighter and more vibrant in color,
Shining a bright red light with each breath that you take.
Go ahead and breathe.
Visualize the white light connecting all of your chakras while your root chakra begins to send healing red energy swirling throughout your body.
You are strong and mother earth supports you.
Breathe.
As your root chakra shines a bright red,
Imagine that it sends energy down to the thousands of roots connected to the core of the earth.
Feel that strong connection and bond with mother earth.
Allow all of those memories and old stories that we cleared from our root chakra,
From our bodies,
From our energies.
Allow all of that to move down through our roots and into the soil,
Rocks and magma where their energy can be transmuted by the earth.
With each exhale,
We are letting go of that stuff that we no longer need and as we inhale,
We receive loving energy from mother earth,
Strengthening the connection with our root chakra,
Growing stronger and stronger with each breath that we take.
Now take a few more breaths here to assure that we clean out all that is no longer serving you.
Allowing yourself to just be present with this wonderful energy,
Feeling safe,
Secure in our place in this world.
Just allow yourself to feel this for another few moments while we breathe.
Now in your own time,
Slowly become aware of the air on the surface of your body.
Notice any sounds around you,
Near and in the distance.
Become aware of the support beneath your body.
Notice how you feel and hold yourself with loving kindness for the beautiful,
Unique being that you are.
Let's close out the session by repeating some affirmations that continue to support and balance our root chakra.
If you're in a place where you can do so,
Please state these aloud with me.
If not,
Follow along in your mind and hold the intention in your heart.
I will say them all once and then we will say each of them three times.
I am safe and protected.
I am cared for and all of my needs are met.
To be born into a body is the greatest honor a soul can have.
I love my body.
