Hello and welcome to sound healing meditations with Kate from True Sound.
This is a guided meditation podcast that uses the magic of sound healing to help you reconnect with your body's natural vibrational resonance.
My name is Kate and I'm excited to guide you on your meditation journey today.
So go ahead and make sure you're comfortable,
Preferably in a lying down position covered in a blanket and an eye mask,
Either using headphones or a good quality speaker and enjoy your next few minutes of solitude.
Today's meditation is focused on continuing the development of your mindfulness practice and turning your awareness inwards,
This time observing the mind.
When turning your awareness to your mind you can be easily swept away with the thoughts flowing in and out of your mind.
These thoughts can invoke emotions and then you're riding the emotional wave stuck in these thoughts.
When developing an awareness of the mind it is important to acknowledge that the voice that you hear inside your head is simply a voice.
It is not the one that you have to listen to,
Rather it is your mind's way of processing the external environment around you.
You have a choice whether you listen to these words or not.
The words,
Particularly the negative ones,
Do not need to define you.
Once you create a disconnect between the words in your head and how you respond,
This gives you greater awareness and control of your reactions.
So let this meditation be one that allows you to let go of the thoughts in your head and sink back into your soul,
Observing the outside world.
After a while the thoughts will just become words in your head,
Not controllers of your emotions or actions.
This allows you to rise above the noise and connect with your higher purpose.
So let's begin,
Ensuring you are in a space that is comfortable with your eyes closed.
Start to connect with your breath.
Feel your body in this physical space,
Here and now.
Repeat to yourself the following affirmation.
I am an observer of my mind.
I am not controlled by the thoughts in my head.
I am an observer of my mind.
I am not controlled by the thoughts in my head.
I am an observer of my mind.
I am not controlled by the thoughts in my head.
Feel your awareness start to sink backwards into your mind,
As though you have just closed your eyes and opened your internal gaze within.
Like you are sitting in the back row of a large dark cinema with a tall ceiling and a huge screen in front of you.
The lights are off,
The room is empty and you can see dull images on the screen,
With the screen being your external gaze of the outer world around you.
You look around the cinema and notice its large,
Empty yet powerful presence.
The space within the cinema is your mind.
You are a tiny being sitting within your mind watching what is happening.
You are not connecting with what you see,
Simply observing what is going on.
Now imagine the cinema starts to fill with thoughts that are flowing through your mind.
Imagine these thoughts flow into the large cinema like fish gliding through water.
You may see some imagery,
Words or feel some sensations.
Notice that some thoughts flow through the space faster than others.
Simply note their existence in the space in front of you.
As the space fills with these thoughts,
Notice yourself sitting in your chair in the back of the cinema.
Gently turn your gaze around the room looking up and then to both sides.
Noticing the vastness of the room and how the thoughts simply swim within it.
Gaze towards the screen and notice if you can see what is happening on the screen through your external gaze.
Are the thoughts clouding the image on the screen?
Are they preventing you from seeing what is happening outside of your body?
Now visualize the thoughts that are moving like fish swim towards the edges of the cinema,
Towards the walls.
Notice how this instantly clears your gaze towards the screen.
You can see clearly through the screen.
You can readily engage with what is happening outside of you.
There are no thoughts clouding your external gaze.
This clarity allows you to readily engage with your external gaze.
You know that when you open your eyes you'll be living and engaging with the present moment.
Now imagine the thoughts that are swimming next to the walls of the cinema.
Start to swim through the walls such that they disappear all together from the cinema.
All of a sudden all of the fish in your mind have left the cinema.
You notice once again the vastness of the cinema in which you are sitting.
It is clear,
Open,
Calm and has direct vision to the screen with your external gaze.
You sit for a moment and embrace the stillness within your mind knowing that you can return to this state any time that you feel clouded or overrun with thoughts or schools of fish.
Embrace the clarity and connection to the stillness.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your physical form,
Just keeping your eyes closed.
Start to deepen your breath and make small movements,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes and rolling the wrists and the ankles.
I'm just pausing for a moment before opening your eyes and in your mind's eye,
Bow your head to your heart center and acknowledge and embrace your abundant vibrational being that gives you your magnetic life force.
Namaste.
