Hey,
It's Cyrus.
Close your eyes,
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Release and relax your muscles on the way out.
Become still.
And even though it might be a bit jarring,
If you can handle it,
Imagine like you're dead and buried six feet underground or maybe ashes floating in the ocean.
Notice and acknowledge any reaction you have to the inevitability of your eventual expiration.
And allow that to settle as you begin to accept that one day you will die.
Even if your consciousness persists in some other form,
This body and mind will become one with the earth and cease to be.
And from this space,
From this awareness of facing that,
I invite you to reflect upon some questions.
In what ways do you hold back your love and not give it or express it fully and freely?
In what ways do you not receive love and beauty fully and openly?
What lessons or inner truths have you forgotten or ignored that the awareness of your death gives you the courage to acknowledge again?
Where are you honestly on the spectrum of keeping your body and mind safe in a comfort zone and on the other side of the spectrum expressing and acting through your deepest desires so that your spirit can flourish?
What are you not saying to yourself or somebody in your life that would make a difference to you?
That you would regret not saying when you die?
What have you been paying attention to or giving your time and energy to that isn't truly important to you in the face of death?
What is important to you that you've ignored or put off,
That you would regret not exploring,
Committing to,
Giving more time and energy to in the face of death?
And finally,
How do you want to live today?
How do you want to love?
How do you want to enjoy?
What do you want to create today knowing that you will one day die?
I invite you to feel those feelings,
To embrace any intensity or clarity that's arising.
Notice how it feels in your body.
Breathe into it and allow it to amplify if it wants to grow stronger.
I invite you to set an intention for the rest of your day now that reflects any insight you've received.
And with the awareness that this life is finite and today is a precious gift,
I invite you to open your eyes and maybe write down any insights that really stuck with you from this session.
To revisit those insights and this practice regularly if it feels like it would benefit you and clarify your intentions and what matters to you most.
I hope you have a beautiful day.
