A warm welcome to you.
If you've ever taken on someone else's stress or jumped in to fix or problem-solve.
If you've stayed silent when something mattered to you.
If you've said yes when your whole body meant no.
This meditation is for you.
Boundaries are not something you either have or don't have.
They're a skill,
A practice.
A relationship with yourself that can be strengthened over time.
Each time you pause and listen inwardly.
Each time you honour a limit.
Each time you choose honesty over automatic accommodation.
You're building trust within yourself.
And self-trust changes everything.
Today's meditation is an opportunity to explore your boundaries with compassion.
To notice where your energy has been pulled outward.
And to gently return home to yourself.
Beginning by finding a comfortable position.
Sitting or lying down in a way that feels supportive.
Allowing the eyes to close or softening the gaze.
And enjoying three deep breaths as a way of arriving here.
Low and slow into the belly.
Feeling the support beneath you.
Just a gentle reminder that this practice isn't about judging yourself.
Were here to understand.
To listen.
To reconnect.
So reflecting upon a time recently where your boundaries felt stretched.
Perhaps you took on someone else's stress or jumped in to fix or problem-solve.
Maybe you stayed silent when something really mattered to you.
Perhaps you said yes when your whole body meant no.
Just allowing memories,
Thoughts or emotions to come and go.
And when you're ready,
Pick one specific moment.
Taking some time to bring the details to life.
Noticing who was there.
Where you were.
Anything else that stands out.
And as you remember the moment,
Seeing if you can feel any activation in your body now.
In the throat,
The chest,
The belly,
The jaw,
The shoulders.
Really paying attention.
What do you notice in your physical body?
These physical sensations are not random.
They are the body's way of asking for your attention.
Offering whatever is here a few cleansing breaths.
And now noticing the quality of connection in this memory.
Can you sense any way your energy is leaning forward?
Perhaps reaching toward them.
Pulled into their emotions,
Caught in a dynamic,
Trying to manage,
Soothe,
Explain or hold everything together.
Or maybe the pull has more to do with guilt.
Imagining this as a horizontal pull of enmeshment.
A sense of unhealthy connection.
And with each exhale.
Gently loosening the grip.
Softening the pull.
Allowing what is theirs to be theirs.
Allowing what is yours to return to you.
With each long smooth exhale creating space.
Now together,
Let's cultivate a different kind of connection.
A vertical line of support.
Bringing attention to your feet.
Imagining roots growing down into the earth beneath you.
Steady.
Strong.
And as you breathe in drawing the grounded wisdom of the earth up through those roots,
Through the legs into the heart.
Breathing in steadiness,
Support and the quiet strength of the earth.
Letting the heart become strong with each breath.
Now bringing awareness to the crown of your head.
Imagining an open connection between the crown and the vast sky above.
As you breathe in drawing the spaciousness of the sky down through the crown into the heart.
Breathing in freedom.
Openness.
Possibility.
Letting the heart become wide,
Clear.
Spacious.
And now sensing both qualities alive within you.
The grounded wisdom of the earth.
The expansive freedom of the sky.
And now from this more anchored place gently asking yourself Where in my life are my boundaries asking for attention?
When do I say yes from fear,
Guilt or habit?
What changes when I honour my limits.
What is one small act of self-respect available to me now.
Maybe answers came.
Maybe they didn't and that's okay too.
Simply planting these questions like seeds.
Trusting that they will grow in their own time.
Now bringing one hand to your heart or the centre of your chest.
And one hand to the belly.
Feeling your own warmth.
Your own life force.
And if you like,
Silently repeating after me.
I am allowed to have preferences,
Needs and limits.
I can care for others whilst also caring for myself.
Where I end and you begin is sacred ground.
Taking three slow breaths of integration.
Trusting that this practice has strengthened your sense of self.
And your capacity for healthy boundaries.
Allowing awareness to return to the room around you.
Noticing sounds.
Feeling the surface beneath you.
Perhaps taking a nice big stretch.
Thanks for practicing with me today.
May you carry this growing sense of self-trust into your relationships.
Your choices and your week ahead.
