Before we start tapping,
Bring to mind something that you were in the process of changing,
Something that you would like to change or something that is changing that you have no control over.
Then take a moment to get still and notice where you are feeling the fear around this change in your body.
You might notice that you have tension in your shoulders or a slight headache or pressure in your chest.
Or maybe you are feeling a constriction in your throat or a clenching in your stomach or some other sensation in your body.
Just slowly scan your body and notice where the fear is being felt.
Once you have located the sensation or feeling,
Give it a rating on a scale of 0 to 10,
With 10 being the most uncomfortable and 0 no discomfort at all.
We will use this rating as a reference point to see what shifts happen after we complete each round of tapping.
Now that we have identified how the fear is showing up on a physical level and scored its intensity,
We are ready to start tapping.
Using four fingers,
Tap on the side of the hand and repeat after me.
Even though I can feel this fear in my body,
And it doesn't feel great,
I'm open to seeing if tapping can help me to release this fear.
Staying on the side of the hand,
Even though I can feel all this fear in my body,
Because things are changing or about to change,
And it doesn't feel great,
I can see that I'd feel better if I start to let it go and instead trust in the flow of life.
One more time on the side of the hand,
Even though I can feel this fear in my body,
When I think about this change and it feels uncomfortable,
I accept that this is how I currently feel.
Going to the top of the head,
All this fear in my body.
Eyebrow,
I'm fearful of change.
Outer eye,
Change feels uncomfortable.
Under the eye,
It feels scary.
Under the nose,
And I can feel it in my body.
Under the mouth,
This limiting fear.
Collarbone,
It often keeps me in my comfort zone.
Under the arm,
Fear of being overwhelmed by change.
Top of the head,
What if I can't handle it?
Eyebrow,
Feeling all this fear.
Outer eye,
It doesn't feel great.
Under eye,
It makes me feel really uncomfortable.
Under the nose,
Maybe this tapping will help me to release this fear of change.
Under the mouth,
I'm open to giving it a go.
Collarbone,
It would be good to release this fear from my body and mind.
Under the arm,
Accepting how I feel.
Release the tapping for a moment and take two short inhales through the nose,
Followed by a slow extended exhale through the mouth.
Repeat again and breathe out fully and slowly through the mouth.
Now tune back into your body and notice what has changed.
Are you feeling more relaxed and less fearful?
Has the intensity of what you were feeling at the start of this session eased,
Stayed the same or increased?
If your score is moving in the wrong direction,
Don't worry,
It means that the energy is starting to shift.
Just keep tapping and it will start to decrease as the body and mind begins to relax.
Now that we have acknowledged the fear and accepted how we feel,
We can shift our focus to releasing the fear.
Return to tapping on the side of the hand.
Even though life is full of change and it can feel scary,
I give my body and mind permission to release all this fear now.
Staying on the side of the hand,
Even though I'm feeling scared,
I choose to release anything and everything that is getting in the way of me feeling at ease when things change.
One more time on the side of the hand.
Even though change often makes me feel uncomfortable,
I'm now open to letting go of all this fear.
Going to the top of the head,
I recognize the fact that life is full of change.
Eyebrow,
And that it can be hard to stay calm when everything is in flux.
Outer eye,
Especially when I don't know what the end result will be.
Under eye,
But at the same time.
Under the nose,
I recognize the fact.
Under the mouth,
That change is necessary.
Collarbone,
It is what helps me to grow and evolve.
Under the arm,
It can lead to positive outcomes and experiences.
Top of the head,
And even though change can be uncomfortable at times.
Eyebrow,
It can take me to places I never dreamed of.
Outer eye,
I want to live my life to the fullest.
Under the eye,
And so I give my system permission.
Under the nose,
To release anything and everything.
Under the mouth,
That is getting in the way of me embracing this change.
Collarbone,
Releasing the fear with each exhale.
Under the arm,
Releasing the fear of change with each tap.
Top of the head,
Letting all parts of me know that change is inevitable.
Eyebrow,
And that it is safe to embrace change.
Outer eye,
Change is for my ultimate benefit.
Under the eye,
Even though it might not feel that way right now.
Under the nose,
Choosing to release this fear of change with each tap.
Under the mouth,
Knowing that a life lived in fear.
Collarbone,
Is a life half lived.
Under the arm,
Releasing this remaining fear.
Top of the head,
Choosing to get curious about where this change might lead.
Eyebrow,
Even if it feels scary right now.
Side of eye,
Releasing this remaining fear.
Outer eye,
Letting it all go.
Under the eye,
Choosing to embrace change.
Under the nose,
Knowing that at the very least I will learn something.
Under the mouth,
Trusting the flow of life.
Collarbone,
And letting go of the fear with each exhale.
Under the arm,
Allowing myself to be at ease when things change,
Even when the change is not fully in my control.
Release the tapping for a moment and take two short inhales through the nose,
Followed by a slow extended exhale through the mouth.
Repeat again,
And breathe out fully and slowly through the mouth.
Now tune back into your body and notice what has changed.
Has the feeling of fear diminished,
Or is it showing up differently?
Just notice what is happening in your body as we work towards letting go of fear and embracing change so that we can live life to the fullest.
Let's return to tapping on the side of the hand for one last round of tapping so that we can release any residual fear and set the intention to welcome the transformation that change brings.
Even though I can feel some residual fear in my body,
When I think about change I choose to let it go.
Still on the side of the hand,
Even though I can still feel some fear in my body,
I give myself permission to relax anyway.
One more time on the side of the hand,
Even though I can feel some remaining fear in my body,
I know that the discomfort is only temporary,
And that this change will lead to something positive.
And so I choose to trust in the flow of life and feel calm instead.
Going to the top of the head,
This remaining fear.
Eyebrow,
I can still feel it in my body.
Outer eye,
But that is okay.
Under the eye,
Because I'm now choosing to let it all go.
Under the nose,
I choose to release any remnants of fear.
Under the mouth,
Letting all parts of me know that I'm safe.
Collarbone,
And that change fosters growth and transformation.
Under the arm,
It is safe to let this remaining fear go.
Top of the head,
Mindfully releasing any remaining fear with each exhale.
Eyebrow,
Imagining myself sitting by a fast flowing river.
Outer eye,
And releasing all that I am fearing into the water.
Under the eye,
Allowing the current to carry away any remaining fear.
Under the nose,
Letting the sound of the flowing water wash away any remnants of fear.
Under the mouth,
Seeing the current carrying away any remaining fear down the river and out of view.
Collarbone,
Replacing the fear with excitement for what the future holds.
Under the arm,
Feeling curious about where this change might lead.
Top of the head,
Welcoming transformation.
Eyebrow,
Choosing to live life fully.
Outer eye,
Choosing to take advantage of life-changing opportunities that come my way.
Under the eye,
Open to seeing where this change will take me.
Under the nose,
Choosing to evolve.
Under the mouth,
Choosing transformation.
Collarbone,
Choosing to trust that this change will lead to something positive.
Under the arm,
Welcoming the positive impacts of change.
Release the tapping and take two short inhales through the nose,
Followed by a slow extended exhale through the mouth.
Repeat again and breathe out fully and slowly through the mouth.
Now bring your awareness back to the body and notice what has changed.
Does anything feel different?
Are you feeling more at ease when you think about change?
How are you feeling physically,
Emotionally and energetically?
And has your score out of 10 come down close to zero?
Hopefully you are now feeling more at ease in your body and mind and more equipped and ready to embrace inevitable change.
Until we tap again,
Keep noticing how change shows up in your life and how it ultimately transforms you.
