You are listening to a meditation from Sound Science Soul.
Hello,
My name is Summer.
And tonight I'm going to help you drift off to sleep.
Some soothing words and calming music as we visit the ocean.
Sleep story.
I'm going to read you to sleep.
It can be hard to get to sleep.
But I'm going to be your guide.
Helping you have a wonderful night's sleep.
Get comfortable.
Cozy.
Wrapped up in your blanket.
The room dark.
Or only the soft glow of a dim light.
You are warm.
Cuddled up under the covers.
Now take a slow deep breath in through your nose.
Then release the breath through your mouth.
Completely blowing away all the cares of the day.
The worries of tomorrow.
None of it matters now.
You are ready to relax.
Close your eyes.
And I'd like you to imagine you are near the ocean surface.
Floating in a warm embrace of water.
The only light here from the moon and the stars shining down on you.
One of our many gifts from mother nature.
You marvel at the ocean's infinity.
Now come with me and let's see what we find.
Dive deep into the ocean water.
Imagine you can breathe here just like a fish.
But your breathing slows slower and slower.
As you are feeling more and more relaxed.
As you dive deeper.
Deeper and deeper.
Keep going deeper.
Now you've arrived at the ocean floor.
The soft sandy bottom tickles your feet.
The warm calm blue-green water wraps around you.
Like a warm embrace.
You see a soft cozy blanket.
A fluffy pillow.
Nestled into the sand.
Just for you to lie on.
So lay down now.
What do you see as you watch the ocean fall asleep?
I see tuna fish slowing their pace.
Swimming slower and slower.
Nearing the ocean floor.
As they wind down to rest.
I see the angel fish's stripes start to fade.
As they become motionless.
Sinking to the sandy ocean bottom.
Anchovies rest easy now.
Knowing it's time to take a break.
The crabs burrow between the rocks into dark spaces.
And then pull their shells over their eyes.
Sharks float above you.
Descending to the ocean floor.
As they become sleepy,
Ready to rest.
Whales slow their fins and their flukes.
Their rapid swimming slowing to afloat.
The ocean sleeps.
Clown fish swim into the coral.
Finding a dark place to rest.
Sleep is near.
Cod becomes still.
Floating to the ocean floor.
Snuggling in to rest.
Dolphin families hug each other close.
Keeping them warm and safe.
And shutting out the light.
Cuddle fish slow their pace.
They are ready to rest.
And prepare for another day.
Sea urchins roll across the ocean floor.
Searching for a spot to rest.
The drift fish are ready for a good night's sleep.
And the eels roll their snake-like body into a ball.
Knowing sleep is on its way.
The seals move in toward land.
Settling into their bed of sand.
The ocean sleeps.

Ready to pause the daily race.

The ocean water becoming their soft,
Warm bed.

Floating in the water,
Saying goodnight now.
The manta rays slow their darting about.
They need their rest too.
Haring fish sneak off into the coral,
Safe and sound now.
The octopus dangle their feet in the water,
Laying their heads to the side.
The soft ocean becomes their pillow.
The sea lions roll on their backs,
Drifting lower and lower into the water,
Peacefully snoozing.
The ocean sleeps.
The fish swim slower and slower,
Embracing their time of rest.

Closing up their house for the night,
Shutting out the lights.

His flippers closed into his sides,
Filling up his air sacks,
Allowing him to float peacefully and sleep in his sea bed.

Finding a safe space to catch some Z's.
The seahorses sway back and forth,
Back and forth,
