Stressful and challenging moments can cause us to feel unsafe,
Worried,
And scared.
It is so important to remember that no matter what,
We are safe.
So let's connect with the earth,
Ground ourselves,
And bring a sense of safety.
This practice is best done sitting directly on the earth with your feet crossed,
Eyes closed,
And hands on your thighs.
If you are unable to do this outside,
Simply imagine yourself on the earth.
Once you have found a comfortable position,
Take a deep breath in for a count of four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And breathe out for a count of four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
In for four.
And out for four.
In for four.
And out for four.
Keep focusing on the rhythm of your breath as you start to rub your palms together,
Creating some warmth.
Gently place your hands on your heart space and feel that warmth you are giving yourself,
That protection.
Now begin to feel all the points on your body that are directly in contact with the earth beneath you.
If you are not outside,
Simply visualize.
Feel yourself grounded to the earth,
In peace and in harmony with the earth and all that it has to offer you,
Knowing that you are safe,
Held,
Protected,
And loved by the earth and the universe.
Now repeat after me,
Either out loud or in your mind.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
Continue to repeat this affirmation as you breathe in deeply and breathe out deeply.
I am safe.
Slowly start to come back to the present moment,
Remembering that you are safe,
Held,
Protected,
And loved by the earth and the universe,
And the warmth and protection that you give yourself.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out and we bow.
