This meditation allows you to connect with the earth and let go of everything that's no longer serving you. As you visualize yourself grounded to the earth beneath you, you'll release the unwanted energies and recycle them back into the universe and to the earth.

In this meditation,

We let go and release back into the universe all that no longer serves us.

This practice is best done sitting directly on the earth with your feet crossed and hands on your thighs with your palms facing up.

If you are unable to do this outside,

You can simply do this sitting on the ground.

Once you find a comfortable position,

Close your eyes and begin to focus on your breath.

Simply observe your breath.

There's no need to make any changes.

Just notice the natural pattern of the air going in and out.

Pause for a bit and notice the coolness of the air coming in and the warmth of the air coming out.

Now start to breathe in for a count of four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

And breathe out for a count of four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

In for four,

Out for four.

In for four,

And out for four.

Now feel all the points on your body that are connecting to the earth.

If you are not outside,

Simply imagine yourself sitting directly on the earth and visualize all the points on your body that are in contact with the earth beneath you.

Take some time to feel that earth against your body.

Now imagine roots forming from all of those contact points.

They start to grow into the earth,

Expanding deeper and deeper,

Deeper and deeper until they're completely rooted at the core of the earth.

You are now fully grounded.

Grounded to the earth,

Grounded by gravity,

Grounded in the present moment.

Take a moment here to thank the earth,

Mother Earth,

Bhumadevi,

For all that she offers you knowing you are safe,

Held,

Protected,

And loved by her.

Now gently place your hands on your heart space and come back to your breath,

Focusing on the in and out,

In and out,

And slowly start to release all that is no longer serving you,

Sending it back to the universe,

Back to the earth.

You let go of all unwanted energies,

Releasing all fears and anxieties.

You let go of limiting beliefs and all voices that aren't yours.

You send back into the universe and to the earth all unhealthy habits and coping mechanisms.

You release old patterns and behaviors that aren't serving you any longer.

You feel everything running down your roots and into the earth,

Recycling back all that no longer serves you.

And with a big breath in,

You feel the universe and the earth giving back to you love.

You feel absolutely connected and one with the earth,

One with Bhumadevi.

Slowly you come back to your breath,

Noticing the in and out,

In and out,

In and out.

You bring movement back to your body,

Wiggling your fingers and toes,

Drawing circles with your wrists,

And gently opening your eyes.
