Hello and welcome.
My name is Saskia and I'm here to escort you on this guided meditation from Self Healing Mondays.
15 minutes to tune into yourself,
To forget about everything outside yourself and connect to inside yourself.
A chance to slow everything down,
To rest and recharge your battery.
To start we're simply going to take some nice,
Slow,
Deep breaths.
Breathing deeply through the nose and sighing everything out that we don't need right now,
Right here.
Breathe deeply through your nose and let everything go.
Breathe deeply through your nose through your nose and slow everything down.
Breathe deeply through your nose and feel peace.
This time is yours,
Especially for you.
Today's meditation is about the inner critic,
The inner critic.
Something that each one of us struggles with.
That voice in our head that always puts us down,
That always tells you it's not enough,
You're not enough.
The voice in your head that constantly judges,
Criticizes and condemns.
There's a part of you that stays hidden,
Hidden inside.
It's a part of you that you ignore and push away without even realizing it.
It's the purest part of yourself,
The most sensitive and precious part of your being.
It's the part of yourself that people often call the inner child,
But you don't have to call it that.
You can call that part of yourself anything you want.
What's most important is that you acknowledge that gentle,
Pure part of yourself that's hidden deep inside of you.
It's the part of you that experiences fear,
Overwhelm,
Loneliness.
It's the part that feels like no one is protecting you,
Supporting you,
Defending you.
It's the part of you that the inner critic hurts the most.
The inner critic emotionally abuses the most sensitive part of you that needs healing most of all.
You need to learn how to protect,
Support and defend that part of yourself from the inner critic.
So if you're willing,
I'd like us to practice that right now in this very moment.
Imagine the inner critic as a bully in a playground and it's victimizing the youngest,
Sweetest part of you.
It has that part of you trapped in a corner and is saying cruel and unkind things.
I want you to stand between that part of yourself and the inner critic.
I want you to defend that delicate,
Soft part of who you are.
Look the inner critic in the eye with your head tall and your chest out and say after me,
I'm not gonna let you hurt me anymore.
I'm not listening to you anymore.
From now on,
I'm going to protect myself.
From now on,
I'm going to defend myself.
I am going to learn to love myself more.
And now I'd like us to take a vow together.
A sacred vow.
The most sacred vow you'll ever make in your whole life.
A vow that every time the inner critic says something unkind,
That you will immediately say the opposite.
Every unkind word that is said,
You vow to say a kind word louder.
The truth is,
You'll never get rid of the inner critic completely.
It will always be there.
And it needs to be there.
It's there to make you love yourself more.
The inner critic is there to teach you how to protect,
Defend,
And love yourself.
That's the secret.
It's there to make you love yourself more.
The inner critic isn't trying to destroy you.
It's showing you how to love you.
You can fall in love with yourself with the help of the inner critic.
Just remember the vow.
Every time the inner critic says something negative to you,
Immediately,
Always,
Every time,
Tell yourself the opposite.
And after a while,
Maybe weeks,
Maybe months,
You will start believing yourself.
And you won't believe the inner critic anymore.
Don't fight the inner critic.
Stand up for yourself.
That's what the inner critic wants you to do.
Stand up for you.
You are worthy of your love,
Your respect,
Your appreciation,
And your kindness.
So use the inner critic as a way to be kinder to yourself.
And you will.
No peace.
We've now come to the end of the meditation.
If you're joining live at Self Healing Mondays,
Then please take your notepad and pen.
We will journal together for 10 minutes.
And if you're listening to this on Insight Timer,
Then also,
It's important to connect with yourself.
So grab a piece of paper,
A notepad,
A pen,
And tune into yourself and see what came up for you.
