Stress settles in the throat and chest in particular ways: in the sighs we hold back, the sounds we keep small, the things we do not say. Over time, that holding creates a tightness that tends to sit quietly until something gives it a way out. In this practice, Rachel Fearnley guides you through a progression of vocal release: starting with a low, grounding hum, the kind you feel more than you hear, then resting your fingertips on the side of your neck to feel the vibration living in the body. From there, the practice opens to whatever sounds want to come through. It closes with a moment of plugging your ears, so you can hear and feel the sound entirely from the inside. This practice can be returned to anytime your throat feels tight, your chest feels heavy, or you need to let something move through.
