Self Compassion - The Way Of Harmony

Day by day, we look at different things that bring up emotions within us and we begin to bring an acknowledgment and acceptance to them by offering presence, a truly sacred thing. In this course, I hope you learn to accept whatever your triggers are, in fact, to welcome them, and also to recognize your current modes of dealing with your emotions. Do you run, do you distract? What is your habit when an unwanted emotion appears? If you have awareness, then you can change it. We also take a look at our habits and our health. Again, if we can bring awareness here, we can change unwelcome behaviors. But we have to be aware of them first! The course is designed to bring and welcome emotions so may feel difficult at times, but I invite you to stay with it, or keep coming back and trying again, but always offering compassion to yourself - this is the way to harmony.


Meet your Teacher

Mandy Young is a mindfulness coach and embodied yoga teacher focusing on emotional integration work. Her work includes working with individuals struggling with anxiety. She particularly enjoys this part of the work as she loves to see the 'aha' moments when her clients begin to realize the freedom emotional integration can offer. Teaching embodied yoga also helps clients to increase their ability to tune in to their bodies rather than pushing them into shapes that might not suit them. Mandy's Northern attitude is tough but with love and compassion.

Lesson 1

Harmony in communication

Communication or lack of can be a huge trigger for some and can be a problem within relationships. Today, we look at how we can make changes here to help us within our communication, but also we start to dive a little deeper to find out what is within us!

Harmony with money

It is often difficult to know how to stand consciously with money. Is it ok to have money? Is it ok to want money? Do I need to live a life of scarcity and poverty to feel 'spiritual'? Do I need to renounce everything to become 'holy'? Let's look at this through the lens of logic and balance. You will need paper and a pen.

Lesson 3

Harmony In Habits

Today, we look at habits; how they are formed, the pros and cons of them, our values, and why knowing our values and our direction is more important than changing your habits.

Lesson 4

Harmony With Our Health

Today, we take a look at why our health, in general, is on the decline - rises in obesity, diabetes, addictions, and mental health are real problems in our world. But why is this? Is this our fault? Let's take a look at the possible reasons.

Lesson 5

Harmony With Children

Often, we parent the way we have been modeled and sometimes this comes from a place of what others will think of us rather than on the needs of the child. This can cause problems because the child can be left frustrated, unseen, and unheard. Let's look at a possible alternative together.

Lesson 6

Harmony Within Relationships

How do we get that sweet sound within our relationships? Is it possible to aim to understand the other rather than for them to understand me? There are two parts in today's session, for the second part you will need a pen and paper.

Lesson 7

Harmony With Thoughts

Our thoughts can be our best friend or worst enemy. They are there to help us plan, strategize, remember, and keep us safe. They are really helpful tools, but they also can distract, spoil, deter, and lie to us. How do we manage these often unruly things and bring them into harmony? This is what we discuss today.

Harmony With Triggers

Triggers can be life-altering. You can be having a perfectly good day and then be triggered and it all changes. Can we change our relationship with our triggers, can we see them as helpful and begin to welcome them? Is this even possible?

Harmony With Emotions

How do you view your emotions? How do you deal with them? Do you allow them? Do you distract from them? Do you run away from them? Change your relationship with your emotions, see them as beneficial.

And Finally...

On this final day, we tie everything together and look at the reasons why all this emotional hard work is important.
