This course is here to highlight why our emotional triggers are there and how to work with them to help us heal. Often we look at our triggers as something to be avoided, to be got rid of, and we blame the event or the other for 'making us triggered'. But what if our triggers were actually sent or used as objects or methods to help us heal? What if they were there to help us see? As a sign, a signal to point us in a direction towards freedom? Use this course to find a new perspective on your emotional triggers, and as a way to help you find your way to freedom!


Meet your Teacher

Mandy is a qualified hypnotherapist, mindfulness coach and yoga teacher and works 1:1 with those struggling in life with addictions, anxiety, depression and unhelpful thinking. She works with clients who have previous traumas and although she uses various modalities, she believes that working with emotions is the key to healing and freedom.

Lesson 1

Tend And Befriend

In this session we look at the Tend And Befriend Theory and how important it is to connect. We also look at how difficult this is for some of us if we have a tendency to not trust others. Where do we begin? With us! Befriending ourselves! All of it - the good, the bad, the ugly!!

Lesson 2

Reacting Or Responding To Triggers

In today's session, we look at the difference between reacting to our triggers and responding to them, a massive difference, but how do we do this? We also have to find a way to take care of our emotions and not ignore or distract from them, so that the energy of the emotion is released.

Lesson 3

Judging

We all judge, and we tend to justify our judgements, but is it right to do this? To make judgements on everyone? Do we always get it right? What if we were wrong? What about self-judgement? Is that right? Is it helpful? In this session we look a little closer at judging others and ourselves and how this is a part of the equation when it comes to our triggers.

Lesson 4

Parts Meditation

This is a contemplative meditation based on yesterday's session on judging. Self-acceptance is key to freedom and this includes acceptance of all our parts, even the ones we don't particularly like! The embracing of our shadows is part of the integration journey.

Lesson 5

Emotions

Today we have a little fun around our emotions. We start to uncover the patterns by looking at where the same emotions pop up over and over. We look at specific examples in our own lives and begin to see the themes reappearing. You will need pen and paper for this session.

Lesson 6

Stories

We continue from our exercise yesterday, you will need your paper and pen from then. Today we look at the stories - the narrative that is in our mind. This isn't just about the thoughts that are there, but about the beliefs that have been there for sometimes decades! We need to uncover these beliefs so that we can question them.

Lesson 7

Sphere Meditation

This is a meditation to follow on from the emotions and stories sessions. What do you need more of? Use this meditation to visualise the power and magic of words and access what you need more of in your life.

Lesson 8

Trust

Many of us struggle to trust, so how do we begin to do this? If we are all a reflection of each other, then the only possible way is to change OUR reflection, polish our own mirrors. So then the way forward is to become someone who is trust worthy!

Lesson 9

Trust Meditation

A wonderful relaxing treat. Can you allow yourself to fully trust in this moment? Can you fully relax and let go and trust that you are held and safe? Allow yourself to drift off to this calming and peaceful trust meditation.

Lesson 10

The End

A summation of the course. How do we move forwards? The responsibility is yours, the ability to change this is in your hands! The skills to find freedom are all within you! You just have to become quiet enough to listen, to your inner intelligence, the inner whisperings of your heart, here are all the answers!

This was fantastic ! Very enlightening and a completely new way to look at my triggers and and how other’s triggers can actually trigger me and vice versa .
