Lesson 1
Understanding The Nature Of Your Sensitivity
The philosopher, Aristotle, said, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” Nothing could be more true for empathic people. The first tool of our ten day course focuses on assessing your empathic gifts and exploring your level of sensitivity. By understanding yourself in this way, you begin to know that being empathic is a gift you are born with not one that you learned. Claiming this gift, you can then own that, “Yes, I am sensitive and yes, it is okay to be me.” I look forward to walking through this self-assessment tool with you to begin our journey together.

Lesson 2
Is This Mine?
The wisdom of listening to the subtle cues of your body will lead you to be able to discern which feelings that you are experiencing are your own or if they belong to someone else. Our second tool focuses on the question: “Is this mine?” We will do a simple and practical exercise where I will guide you into this important skill for empaths. The tool helps you begin to understand that not everything you are feeling inside of your body is your own. Empathic people, because of their sensitivity, pick up the feelings of others through our nervous system. The exercise I walk you through today will help you begin to practice separating these different feelings. By understanding that not all the feelings you experience are necessarily your own, you can begin to create this distinction in your mind and shift how you approach what is happening inside of you.

Lesson 3
Learning To Be Grounded And Connected
“Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life,” said Herman Hesse, writer and philosopher. Connecting with trees, with nature, empathic people can find sanctuary, calmness, grounding and serenity. One of the best tools for grounding your nervous system and being present with yourself, is by connecting with nature. Today, our third tool, we will be doing a guided meditation for grounding your energy. Spending time in the supportive arms of Mother Nature can re-balance your nervous system.

Lesson 4
Clearing Your Energy
People who are empathic and highly sensitive are bright lights in the world, and this can attract lots of energy, wanted and unwanted, around themselves. Throughout the day, these energies from others can accumulate and begin to cloud your own energy. This can sometimes make you feel anxious or angry or tired or irritable. Today’s fourth tool, clearing your energy, is focused on the physical importance of self-care. I will guide you through how to clear your own energy so that you have the strength to continue to shine your own bright light.

Lesson 5
The Sacred Name You Call Yourself
One of the greatest gifts of being empathic is your ability to give and to be of service to others. You are present for those around you in times of need. As beautiful as this gift is, you may also experience a more difficult time being present for yourself and your own needs. Sometimes the expectations an empath has of ourselves can border on unrealistic perfectionism. This sets up the chance that your internal dialogue and how you speak to yourself may be unkind or forceful. Today’s fifth tool focuses on self-compassion through learning to speak to yourself in kindness. How do you address yourself? What if you make a mistake? What if you’re having a hard time? Today we will connect with your sacred name. This sacred name gives you a way to speak to yourself from a place of love and acceptance. During this lesson, we will do a guided meditation to discover the sacred name that your soul wishes you to connect with from within.

Lesson 6
Strengthen Your Solar Plexus Chakra For Self-Confidence
Dr. Rooplen, physician and coach, said, “If you have a dream, don’t just sit there. Gather courage to believe that you can succeed and leave no stone unturned to make it a reality.” For an empath, feelings of overwhelm can sometimes lead to a lack of confidence. The unintended outcome may be not following through on personal goals or dreams you have for yourself. Today’s sixth tool is to counter this by focusing on what you, as a highly sensitive person, can do to grow inner self-confidence. We will approach this by working with the solar plexus chakra, also known as the sun chakra. It is the color of the sun and just as bright. Energetically, it sits right at the center of your body just like the sun sits in the center of our solar system. Strengthening your own personal sun inside of yourself will grow your confidence and help you take the chance of going after your dreams. Growing this inner self-worth encourages you to shine your light more brightly.

Lesson 7
The Practice Of Setting Boundaries
At times, being empathic and highly sensitive is a double-edged sword. As we help others, we may also be overly giving. It is important for us to know ourselves, what we have to offer and when we can offer these gifts of service. If we expect others around us to set a boundary that doesn’t take advantage of our good nature, then we might be taken advantage of. To be confident is also the art of learning your own inner scope of when you can say yes, when to say no and when to measure the amount you are able to give. In this seventh tool, setting boundaries, we will be using the skill of discernment to listen within and to ask yourself important questions about when and how to show up for others and for yourself. Each circumstance will be different. Sometimes it will call for you to be more firm. Other times you might have more flexibility. There are no exact rules for this. Your greatest skill will be listening to yourself and honoring what you are hearing. Actress, Anna Taylor, said this, “Love yourself enough to set boundaries. Your time and energy are precious and you get to decide how to treat you by deciding what you will and won’t accept.” Setting boundaries, then, is an act of self-love for empathic people.

Lesson 8
Calling In Angelic Energy For Protection
One of the things that helped me on my own path as an empath is my spiritual connection with my Angelic team, both guardian angels as well as Archangels. Their energy is always present for all of us. We just have to ask for their help and assistance. Their energy reminds us that we aren’t alone in the world. Although our Angelic helpers can’t do the work for us, they are here to be of service. First, we ask for their help. Second, we receive. Third, we put their assistance to work for us by taking action. Because their connection to universal energy and light is infinite, we can also ask for their assistance in protecting our own energy. Our eighth tool today does just that. I will walk you through a guided visualization where you get the opportunity to call in your Angelic helper and together you create a healing bubble of light and protection around yourself and your energy.

Lesson 9
Minding The Gap
Our world can be full of potholes, gaps and spaces where if we trip we might hurt ourselves. “Mind the Gap” is a phrase that was first used in the London Underground railway system in the UK. This phrase was to warn passengers getting on and off the railway to be careful where they step between the train and the platform. Just as there are physical gaps in our landscape, there are also gaps in our mental thoughts as well. When we are empathic, we might read or see things energetically that differ from what someone is saying to us. Your intuition might pick up this difference between the energy you are reading and what someone is saying. As this difference presents itself, it creates a gap in your perception. The danger then would be if you fill in the gap with a story that you make up that may or may not be true. The mind doesn’t like having gaps and loves to fill in the blanks. This can potentially lead to problems if the story you tell yourself is not true. It can create more chaos or turmoil. Our ninth tool teaches you how to “mind the gap” in your thoughts and ask more questions for clarity. I will have us do a guided practice to explore this tool more in depth.

Lesson 10
Growing Your Intuition Through The Art Of Journaling
“In silence there is eloquence. Stop weaving and watch how the pattern improves,” says Rumi, mystic and poet. Our last tool of this course is taking the gift of your empathic abilities and expanding them through growing your intuition. This can be done through the art of journaling. We will look at different ways to journal as well as how journaling enhances your intuitive skills. It takes your empathic abilities to a new level and says to yourself, “I am an empath. I am intuitive. I am listening. Being empathic is a gift.” Journaling brings you into the silence of awareness and paying attention to the world, to Spirit and how it is speaking to you. Through this deep listening, a new inner world emerges. Then you, as a highly sensitive, empathic being of light, transforms the world by bringing peace, harmony, light and love.
