The course introduction begins with an inspiration story of how mindfulness drastically changed a man named Tim Desmond's life for the better. Module 1: The Role of Presence in Mindfulness In the first module of our course, we delve into a fundamental concept at the heart of mindfulness – Presence. Often, we're so caught up in our thoughts that we forget to truly experience the world around us. This lack of presence can create a disconnect between ourselves and our experiences, leading to stress and dissatisfaction. But by practicing mindfulness, we can cultivate a state of presence that brings clarity, focus, and peace. Module 2: Understanding Mindfulness Meditation In this second module, we dive deeper into the practice that enhances mindfulness – meditation. Mindfulness meditation is not about emptying your mind or reaching an enlightened state, rather it is a simple practice of returning your attention to the present moment, again and again, as many times as you get distracted. Module 3: Cultivating Mindfulness in Daily Life In this module, we shift our focus from formal meditation practice to the cultivation of mindfulness in our everyday lives. While seated meditation is an invaluable tool, the true magic of mindfulness comes alive when it's seamlessly integrated into our daily activities. Mindfulness, at its core, is not a separate activity, but rather a quality of attention that we can bring to each and every moment of our lives. Module 4: Working with Difficult Emotions and Thoughts At this stage in our mindfulness journey, we have explored the fundamentals of mindfulness, learned about the breath and the body as anchors, and started integrating mindfulness into our daily lives. Now, we arrive at a challenging, yet essential aspect of mindfulness practice - working with difficult emotions and thoughts. Module 5: Cultivating Positive Qualities through Mindfulness Up to this point in our journey, we've been learning how to be more aware of our present moment experience, our breath, our bodies, and how to handle difficult thoughts and emotions. Now, we'll turn our attention to a very rewarding aspect of mindfulness practice - cultivating positive qualities.


Meet your Teacher

Shan had a profound spiritual awakening circa 2007 and his life changed dramatically since then. He has devoted his life to his own emotional healing and self actualization, and is currently enrolled in the Teacher of Presence Program in Eckhart Tolle's School of Awakening with the intent of sharing his insights with others. Shan aspires to create community around the awakening of humanity to its true essence.

The course was ok, the teaching or message was good. It felt like the audio was strange at the start and stop of words and that it was chopped up from another session and put together or something. The pacing seemed off

Clear explanation for beginners and a nice refresher for those who know what mindfulness is and lost it. I’m actually going to listen again and write down some of the excellent points made throughout this quick and easy course. Beginners can actually start your mindfulness journey while listening to the lesson, as your mind wonders bring it back to the spoken words of the lesson.
