Meet your Teacher

Jane is a registered counselling psychologist with over 10 years’ experience. She has a special interest in helping people sleep better, using evidence-backed tools. She has a flourishing psychology practice in Auckland, New Zealand and her mission is to make better sleep tools available to as many people as possible. Sleep is fundamental to our mental and physical wellbeing, allowing people to restore their natural, innate rhythms. In this session we learn how morning routines can boost the quality of our sleep, as well as helping us manage difficult times during the day. We learn how to set a morning intention that not only supports us during the day, but calms us and readies us for a good night’s sleep. We also look at the usefulness of getting some natural sunlight during the day.

Help Your Sleep with Self-Compassion

In this session, I walk you through exactly what it means to be compassionate to ourselves. We learn how science has shown us that such a seemingly simple act of self-compassion can support and nourish our sleep. Today I also give you the ‘Self-Compassion Break’ exercise which you can do before bed.

In this session we talk about how you can help keep track of your sleep and get to know it better by keeping a sleep diary. I introduce you to easy and simple ways you can create your own one-page sleep diary to help improve the quality of your sleep.

Review – Bringing it All Together

In this session we review and reflect on what we’ve covered in the course to support you in your journey of developing deep, nourishing sleep. When we take the time to reflect on what we’ve learned, we can build a deeper, more personal relationship to the tools we’ve learned. I also talk through a client’s journey of how using the tools in this course have greatly helped his sleep.

Thank you for your eye opening course. ( no pun intended). It is interesting when you realise how technology can creep into one’s life to reek havoc on our sleep habits. It is also ironic that I spend time each night scrolling through the insight timer meditation list looking for peaceful ways to get to sleep. This course has shown me that I should pre- plan this earlier in the evening to get better results. Thank you again🙏🙏🙏

Due to medical reasons I wake up 2-4 times every night and then I often have hard to fell back in sleep. So I have tried most of your tips and tools during other sleep courses here on IT. One new thing for me that I've done is Yoga Nidra. I really resonated with that and will use it in the future.
