My dears,
I invite you to come into your position.
This could be sitting first,
But later on possibly lying down.
So don't lie just yet.
Let's start with a little bit of a observational moment.
Sorry,
I fooled you.
I see some of you lie down.
So we'll lie down at one point.
So you can sit on your yoga mat and ready to just ooze into your yoga mat.
So initial position,
We first of all sit comfortably in a meditation position.
And then at one point,
I'll invite all of you to get a bit more comfortable.
So this might be just leaning back in your chair,
Or it might be lying down on your yoga mat when you're ready.
Good?
I hope so.
I don't see any thumbs up,
But I assume.
Good.
Thank you,
Chloe.
So let's begin by just sitting with our back straight,
Taking a deep breath.
Arriving in our body,
Assuming a meditation position.
Could be on a chair,
Could be on the floor,
However is good for you.
We can just feel how our body is now sitting in a meditation position.
We could feel,
For example,
The clothes on our skin.
We could feel the breath going in and out.
And just arriving here now with ourselves.
And in stage one,
Let's simply observe as we did last week.
Let's observe our inner universe.
Non-reactive and relaxed,
Just watching,
Very detached,
But with an honest inner attitude,
Just seeing what's going on inside right now.
Sometimes it can be helpful to observe it also a bit anchored in your body.
What's your body up to?
How's your energy moving?
And from there you might notice,
Okay,
I'm feeling this,
I'm feeling that.
Just watch,
Allow,
Observe.
And then maybe one inner feeling,
Inner state might gradually stand out,
Calling upon your attention a bit more.
Might be anchored in the body.
It might be that you notice,
Well,
Something is up in my belly,
Or something is up in my forehead.
And see,
Okay,
So what is going on there?
What kind of sensations and then feelings are related to this one aspect that seems to stand out a little more?
Maybe it's helpful to give it a name,
To notice,
Okay,
So I have some tensions in my tummy.
So far they were just physical mainly,
But as I look more attentive,
There's a story there.
Maybe I feel a little depleted.
Maybe I feel a little ignored.
Okay,
Let's just sit with that.
And then you can follow this observation deeper and deeper,
Diving in there.
Okay,
So what is this about,
This depletion?
What's under the depletion?
There might be a story.
Well,
People just don't seem to care so much about me.
Or there might be images.
There might be colors.
There might be other feelings,
Completely different feelings maybe.
Just keep watching what is there.
See if you can get a more and more detailed outline of what is your inner world currently busy with.
So in my example it was,
Okay,
So I have some tensions there in the tummy and then there's something depleted about it.
Maybe people don't care.
Okay,
What else belongs to this storyline,
To this feeling?
What might be under it?
Okay,
There's some anger.
How come nobody cares?
What's that all about?
That's not right.
It should be different.
So use the observe stage to gather some deeper and deeper information of what's going on in your inner world.
What's your inner world busy with?
What may it be wrestling with a little bit in this moment?
Maybe connected to a bigger thing that you've been dealing with maybe for longer.
Or it might be something completely momentarily.
And now I would like you to gradually formulate a sort of relatively clearly outlined problem within your inner universe.
It doesn't have to be a problem.
It can be just state,
Inner condition,
However you want to put it.
So you put all the information that you've observed together,
The different feelings,
Stories,
Just watching.
Aha,
So this is somehow the size of this issue.
Oh yeah,
It might be reaching also a little more down.
I'm not yet so aware of those aspects.
But for sure there's something about care,
Self-care,
Something about this anger involved.
There's a story of maybe lack or abundance.
Maybe there's some sadness,
Despair involved.
Oh yeah,
There comes a story from the childhood.
Just observing the package as it presents itself right now.
And then see if you could give a name to this overall bigger package of what you have observed.
This is not so much to label it and park it somewhere,
But it's just for the,
Let's say,
Ease of dealing with this bigger cloud of feelings of states within your inner universe.
So you give it a name.
Think of it like a project name.
Yeah,
Or like a book title,
Something like that.
We all know there's a very complicated and rich storyline and feelings and sensations and so forth.
And we give it a book title.
Let's say in my example,
The self-care issue.
The anger management project.
However,
Whatever resonates with you.
Just so you know what you're handling.
This is the thing I'm handling.
This is an issue within my inner universe.
And it entails a whole lot of things.
Some I haven't even discovered yet,
But these are the ones that I have observed so far.
And observe all the little strings and connections that this book title has within your inner universe.
Okay,
These are the physical tensions that relate.
These are energetic movements.
These are the stories,
Experiences.
Maybe childhood scenes.
Maybe more recent scenes that led to this issue.
This is the way I'm wrestling with it.
This is the resistance I have.
This is the different feelings that come up around it.
Okay,
So this is the thing we are dealing with.
This is the issue.
And try to hold this issue within your awareness in all its splendor,
With all its nuances,
Everything.
All of it.
And then see if you could find a bodily posture that first of all just expresses the issue.
Yeah?
Anything,
Really.
Any body posture.
It can just be with your arms.
You can stand up if you want it to be more embodied.
But it could just be something as you sit.
Like,
How would you embody this issue?
How would you place your bodily position,
Your arms,
Your head?
How would you express this issue within your inner universe?
Expressed into the body.
Don't worry if it's a bit uncomfortable position right now.
We will not hold it forever.
It's more to mark it within your consciousness by also embodying it.
Okay,
So I will put this in my body like this,
This issue.
And now pay attention.
What exactly are you doing there?
Okay,
I'm tensing my left foot and I'm putting my arms around like this.
And then my tummy is sort of a little bit crooked and my one shoulder goes up and my head is a little leaned like that.
And there's a tension in the right shoulder.
So we are tensing,
Expressing the resistance,
The pushing away that issue.
I don't want to have that issue.
And I will not accept it.
No.
How do you express that in your body?
So again,
I'm tensing my fingers,
My arms,
My shoulder goes up,
Crooked and like that.
Okay,
Just mark what have you changed in your posture as you started resisting the issue.
So first we express the issue.
And now you resist the issue.
How is that different?
For me,
There's definitely a whole lot of tension involved in that.
So just watch that for a second.
Okay,
So I'm resisting the issue.
Okay.
Alright,
And now I invite you to assume a super comfortable position.
You can lie down if you want,
Into relaxation.
And you lean and you stretch.
You definitely have your body nice and straight.
And then the first thing you do is you just breathe.
And you watch what's going on with my issue right now.
Where's my issue at now?
Okay.
How would I embody my relaxation with this issue being present in me?
I'm okay that this issue is present.
Maybe I don't love it,
But for now I'll just be okay with that.
Okay,
It's there.
And watch what might still be going on in your body.
I definitely still feel some tensions in the tummy.
Okay,
I let that go.
And now I would like you to embody how would you express that you fully accept this issue.
It might be that you become even more relaxed.
I don't know where you could put your head.
It might be that you embrace yourself in that,
That you hold yourself having that issue.
How would you embody an attitude that is fully accepting towards the issue?
You can try out a little bit.
Okay,
So if I would accept this thing within my being,
This issue,
This complex inner experience,
Then I would position my body like this.
In my case,
It's definitely much more straight,
Much more symmetrical position.
Watch that also for yourself.
And I'm having my hand on my tummy and on my heart.
This gives me sort of like an embraced feeling,
Like as if I'm more in touch with myself,
With the issue.
My face is definitely more soft.
And now I would invite you to just relax into a neutral pose.
And then once more,
Observe the issue,
That same issue.
What's going on in your tummy or in your body part where you had that issue connected to?
What feelings,
Thoughts are relating to this issue right now?
Dive right in,
Just watch,
Observe.
Without judging,
Just watching.
As if looking at a landscape,
Just watching.
You can note for a moment,
Has anything changed?
Is anything different?
And now try again,
How would you embody the fullness of this issue?
Everything that relates to it,
The physical tensions,
Energetic movements,
Feelings,
Thoughts,
Stories.
Just holding space again for the fullness of that.
How would you embody it right now?
In this second,
Completely new embodiment moment.
And then observe that position.
Is it different?
Is it the same?
How does it feel?
How have you placed yourself?
Also watch if you are yawning,
If you have some kind of sounds in your tummy.
Just watch what might be going on.
It's usually signs of relaxation.
And then again,
Embody.
How would you do if you would resist?
Even if you're lying down on your back.
You just embody,
Okay,
I'm resisting this thing.
No,
I don't want it,
I don't want it.
How would your body do that?
I don't want to deal with this,
I'm pushing it away,
I'm pushing it away.
Would you embody that?
Okay,
Take that in.
Hold that within your awareness.
Okay,
This is how it is when I resist.
Alright,
And now,
Full relaxation.
Just relaxing.
Arms down,
Open,
You're leaning back.
Breathing.
Just relaxing the body,
Energies,
Everything.
Okay,
And there's my issue,
My thing.
And what would be if I would fully accept that I have this?
I have this issue,
I'm dealing with this thing.
Alright,
What if I would accept it?
Even for a split second,
I would accept it.
How could I embody that?
How would that look like?
You can see again with your hands,
With your physical body,
Or even just as an inner feeling,
Inner gesture.
How would you place your body?
How would you relax and be?
If you would accept this issue,
It's there.
It's not going anywhere for now.
This is where we are at.
This is all the stuff related to this issue.
Okay,
And I'm accepting it.
I'm accepting it,
And I'm embodying the acceptance of it.
Now I invite you to just master up all the acceptance power that you have inside.
All the most warmest mommy and daddy feelings that you can bring up inside of you.
And that issue of yours is just like the cutest little puppy-eyed infant cutesy thing.
And you're just like,
Oh,
I will accept this so much.
My goodness.
And you find a position that would be really,
Really embracing.
You can put your arms around you.
You can hold yourself in that.
Maybe you have a hand on your face,
On your head.
How would you embody like a total,
Utter,
And absolute acceptance of this issue,
Of yourself having this issue?
How would you embody that?
You are the most benevolent parent,
Puppy lover,
Or whatever.
And that issue,
And you having that issue,
Is just the cutest baby,
Toddler,
Puppy,
Kitten.
How would you embody accepting it completely,
Fully?
And you can once again just relax.
And again,
Do the observe.
Go into your inner universe.
How's the issue doing?
What's it up to?
What's it doing in your body,
In your feelings,
In your story?
Okay.
So now that the issue is presenting itself and you're observing it,
See if you can dive around in it a little bit.
All right.
So how does it look like?
What kind of images,
Colors are you associating?
What kind of feelings does this issue have right now?
Did it change in any way?
And now I would like you to just look out what kind of solutions are implicit to this issue.
They might not be grandiose.
They might not be this or that.
But just watch.
Is there any kind of solution,
Any kind of suggestion within the problem of how to address the problem,
How to deal with the issue at hand?
Maybe you find absolutely nothing.
It's like,
No,
There's no solution.
Fine.
Then you accept the non-solution solution.
And we are at that stage of accepting that just a little more.
But maybe there's something implicit.
Yeah,
Okay.
There's something maybe about learning to express,
Maybe expressing boundaries,
Expressing needs.
That's something that arises for me right now.
And immediately I notice,
Oh,
There's another body part now kicking in and connecting to this overall little collage of things that are going on inside of me.
So there's some implicit solutions.
What are they?
Maybe it's something communicative.
Maybe it's an inner attitude,
A viewpoint.
Maybe it's seeking out some help,
Some communication with others.
Maybe it's about obtaining some knowledge,
Some information.
Just look at the issue as it presents itself and see if it has anything in it that suggests coping,
Solving,
Healing,
Balancing.
And see if you could find just a simple embodiment of any kind of suggestive solution that might be coming.
If there's nothing coming,
Don't worry.
You're accepting that there's no solution,
And then you find an embodiment for that.
So how would the solution embody itself right now?
So for me,
I'm placing my hands on my tummy.
There's sort of like a shift in my head.
It gives me like an inner opening towards a certain perspective,
Embodying some little solutions,
Inner invitations of viewpoint,
Of action,
Whatever it may be.
Simple.
And then again,
See if you can resist the solution.
Just for a moment,
Embody.
Okay,
I'm resisting.
This is the solution.
I'm resisting.
I'm pushing it away.
I don't want that stupid solution.
How would that embody itself?
You see,
For me,
It's often about tensing.
My whole face gets tensed up.
I'm pushing away that solution,
And no,
And go away.
I don't want a solution.
Just embody that for a moment.
Okay.
Just note that within your consciousness.
This is how I would resist the solution.
Watch what kind of tensions come up,
Which body parts are tensing up.
Is there something surprising?
I'm definitely having some tensions in my legs that I didn't think they would come.
Okay.
Alright,
So this is the resistance to the solution.
Note it.
And now again,
Neutral position.
Hands open,
Relaxed,
Straight position.
Relaxing.
Just letting it all be.
Okay,
So there they are,
The solutions that are implicit to my issue.
I might not like them,
But how would I embody embracing these solutions in acceptance?
Doesn't mean I need to do anything.
Just accepting that there are some solutions implicit in my issue.
How would I embody that?
How would you embody that?
And always check in.
It might be something new,
Something unexpected coming.
Might be the same thing as before.
How would you embody the acceptance of the solution?
And then if you muster up all the super lovey-dovey,
Mommy-daddy,
Super acceptance,
Mega loveliness,
And you look at the solutions as the,
Or at the implicit solutions,
In the most cutesy,
Puppy-kitten-toddler way,
And you would just go ahead and just accept all of those solutions so much,
Like you don't even know how you could do it more,
How would you embody that?
Like an extremely embracing,
Just holding that little puppy-kitten of a solution,
Like accepting it,
Yes.
A lot of love,
A lot of compassion,
Just holding it.
And then note that within your inner universe.
How does that play out?
How does that feel?
What might be coming up?
Scan your body a little bit.
Is something unusual coming up?
Is something that you already know coming up?
As you do this nice embracing,
Holding,
Accepting the solutions.
Again,
Observe if you are maybe yawning,
Maybe you have some funny,
Bubbly noises in your tummy,
Maybe you're burping,
Maybe other things.
There's usually signs of relaxation,
So just observe them.
Relax,
Arms open,
And then let's once more observe what's happening now in the inner universe,
Where are you at?
How do you feel?
What's going on with your issue?
Physically,
Energetically,
Psychomentally?
What's going on with the solutions to the issue?
Stories,
Everything connected.
And then the solutions,
The coping,
Ideas,
Inspirations,
The whole package.
Watch it.
And then I would invite you to just let go any inner effort,
Not doing anything.
Just asking yourself,
How do I feel right now after this little exercise?
Where am I at?
Where am I at right now?
Just relaxing into the effects of the exercise.
If you feel to sit a little more,
You can just sit a little more,
Or lie a little more,
Whatever you're doing.
If you're ready to come back,
Then always do it slowly,
Taking a deep breath,
Opening the eyes a little bit,
Bringing the state along with you.
And now before anything else,
Please take your notebook or your computer,
Or if you prefer recording over writing,
You can take your little dictaphone on your phone and just share with yourself where you're at.
Observations,
How do you feel now?
What happened during the exercise?
Give it a little detail.
And you just pour out onto your pages,
Onto your document,
Or you yammer into your microphone and your little phone there.
And you just pour it out.
What are you observing?
What are you feeling?
If your best friend was next to you right now,
What would you want to share with them?
So take a moment and write that down.
