Hello and welcome to Five Minutes in Nature with me Liz Scott and I'm just taking a stroll on a rather blowy August day.
The clouds are quite low in the sky but between them is big chunks of blue and they've got flat bottoms,
A sort of bluey whitey grey,
The clouds themselves and then you've got this lovely azure blue,
Fresh clean blue of the sky itself that you can see as well behind them.
And I'm actually just strolling in the countryside,
I'm just coming up to what looks like a fir tree forest,
A forest of timber I would think,
Farm timber,
And as I take my eye away from that and gaze along the horizon I can just see the outline of Dartmoor and different hills and different areas I don't really know.
I'm not in an area I particularly know and I do love getting out and taking in the air as you know.
And today we're following on from yesterday,
Do you remember we were talking about thinking,
The hidden component of almost like the equation that causes stress,
Anxiety and worry and we were looking at there's a situation or a circumstance that we think causes our stress but actually it's that particular situation plus a lot of thinking that causes stress,
Anxiety and worry.
Now that doesn't mean that we don't have challenges,
Of course we do in life,
But the thing that makes these challenges really debilitating are the stories and the thinking and the imagining and the worst case scenarios that we conjure up around the actual thing that needs to be done.
And today I just want to share a quote with you that probably underpins everything in my life and work and the quote is by someone called Jack Pransky and Jack Pransky does a lot of community work.
He is very much involved in the three principles or the inside out understanding which if you follow me you will know that's very much the foundation of my work as well.
And his quote that he came up with encapsulates everything in such a simple way and I'm going to share that quote with you and I'll repeat it a couple of times.
It's this,
All we are is peace,
Love and wisdom and the power to create the illusion that we're not.
All we are is peace,
Love and wisdom and the power to create the illusion that we're not.
Peace,
Love and wisdom are the default settings of everybody.
Peace,
Love and wisdom is the universal energy that we are all made from.
There is nobody that is not made from this energy of peace,
Love and wisdom.
And the bit that we forget or get lost in is that as a human being we are made of peace,
Love and wisdom and we also have the power to create the illusion that we're not.
To create the illusion or to create the story that we are not peace,
Love and wisdom,
That we are not connected,
That we are not part of this whole.
Thinking is the creator of stories.
Thinking is the part of what we engage with that has us be separate,
Has us believe we are separate from each other.
The power of thought takes us away into a world of excessive unsettled thinking.
When we are faced with the situation itself and a clear head,
We take the action that we need to from the peace,
Love and wisdom,
The guide,
Our inner compass.
We take the action that our inner compass is pointing us towards.
So that quote really does sum up for me everything about the work I'm engaged with and I hope that makes sense for you as well.
All we are is peace,
Love and wisdom.
That is the default.
That is what I point to in you.
That's what I am listening out for in me.
And I get lost.
I have the power,
You have the power to create the illusion that you're not peace,
Love and wisdom.
And when you get lost in the stories of what you're not,
That's when it becomes really hard to navigate through life with ease.
So the invitation to you is just to reflect on that quote and maybe just tell me what it means for you.
What does the quote mean for you?
All you are is peace,
Love and wisdom and the power to create the illusion that you're not.
Let me know how that lands for you.
I would love to hear from you.
