Hello and welcome to five minutes in nature with me Liz Scott Well,

It was a really wild and windy day yesterday It's too wild and windy for me to go out and record.

So I'm Talking to you a day later,

And I want to just tell you what Happened to me because I went Out in this weather to a retreat center.

I've got a friend who is a caterer and she was catering At this retreat center very local to me probably about three four miles away and She just loved the place She said look if you ever get chance to come and see it Come and see it because it's such a beautiful environment and I've been kind of thinking about shall I run a retreat one day?

And I thought I'm gonna go and see it.

She was catering that day she'd got permission from the the person who was running the retreat to show me around and I Went to I went over yesterday And I messaged her before I went and I said gosh,

It's it's such a wild wet day I mean,

I still want to come but are you okay with that?

And she said yes come And I absolutely fell in love with this place it was a beautiful place and I'll try and describe some of it.

But of course the bit I can't describe is the feeling that I had being there But the place is on the edge of Dartmoor,

There's several acres of land There's just wildflower meadows Absolutely festooned with beautiful wildflowers and long grasses I'm cut through the meadows a pathway so people can wander around and there's a Circle that's been cut in the meadow as well.

So there's a like a meditation circle and Running beside the land is the most divine brook bubbling babbling stream that comes off the moor over Green mossy rocks and tumbles down and there are pools that you can dip dip in not yesterday because it was too wet Wet and cold anyway,

But you can have dips in everything about it was special but the thing I guess that was particularly interesting for me as I walked around with my umbrella and Wellington boots and waterproofs and just sort of experiencing it was that here I was on one of the Worst days that we've had in the last three months like it really was a dreadful dreadful day of weather and I just felt this extraordinary peace on the land and I spoke to my friend.

She's the lady if you remember who's the caterer there she was take it taking a break to show me around for making lunch and we just had a chat about the the feeling of the land I Couldn't really explain it.

She said I don't know.

I said I go to many many places To cater for retreats,

But there's something about this place.

She said I can't explain it She said I feel safe here That's a feeling of safety here Now I really understood what that meant There was a sense that I was being held that the land was holding me And then she subsequently said that there were energy lines or lay lines that came down through the land She wondered if that had anything to do with it as well,

And I thought Too right it does You see there is something about the land and sometimes it takes For me anyway,

It takes The energy lines to be present For me to hear it.

I'm not naturally sensitive to listening to the land Or I don't I'm not able to listen like some people can But there are times when I deeply feel it I feel the energy of the land and When I say I feel the energy of the land what I'm feeling is this real sense of love this real sense of being held this real sense of being part of something bigger than myself and That's what this is all about today.

Is this recognition of our relationship with the land Being reminded of it Even when We are not in a place that feels particularly sacred or spiritual.

I think what I got yesterday was this reminder of The energy that is present the energy of the land is the energy of me That's what I really felt yesterday So today it's just a Reflection for you really about your relationship with the land.

What is your relationship with the land with the landscape with the earth?

Feel it See what it is saying to you and give yourself time to listen and connect with the energy of the land
