Hello and welcome to this guided reflection,

A five-minute breather in your life.

Today's invitation is to give up the nagging desire to control.

If you ever feel that pressing need for things to turn out a certain way,

Then this guided reflection is for you.

Today,

Give yourself permission to take five minutes off from that burden of responsibility that you feel.

Find a comfortable place and close your eyes if you like.

Breathe in through your nose and slowly fill your lungs.

As you breathe out slowly through your lips,

Allow the fear and sadness to leave your body.

As you breathe in through your nose again,

Feel the golden white light of love fill your lungs.

Allow this love to seep in through the whole of your body.

As you breathe out,

Feel the debris in your life leave you as you let the air out of your lungs.

Yesterday as I walked,

The dark heavy skies spilled with a deluge of rain.

I came home from my walk with clothes heavy and dripping.

Today a gentle sun warmed my face and I listened to the joyful song of the skylark as it filled the air.

I know I am not in control of the weather.

I don't shout at the rain to go away and I don't persuade or plead with the sun to appear.

As I allow the weather to pass through,

I see how life unfolds.

In the same way I align myself to the weather,

So I am being asked to align myself to an unfolding life.

What would happen if you gave up trying to control your life?

Notice the fear and insecurities and anxieties that might arise in you as you consider giving up controlling your life.

Allow these feelings to arise in whatever way they need to.

Now notice a steady glow beneath these fears,

A glow and knowing that you are held.

Place your attention and awareness on this sense of being held.

Feel the glow and warmth of knowing.

Understand that you are held,

Deeply held and secure.

In a space beyond the storm and confusion of your thinking,

You are connected to the energy of life.

You are connected to all things.

Breathe this in and be open to whatever there is for you to learn.

Ask,

What is there for me to learn about control?

It's time to open your eyes and return.

Remember there is nothing for you to do and nothing for you to change.

You do not need to try to make things different.

Just allow that deeper wisdom to fill you from within.

Thank you for joining me today.
