
Choose The Beliefs That Serve You Well (3/3)

Welcome to the third and final contribution in this short programme on choosing beliefs. This particular session is a guided fantasy in which Jan Russell guides you through a light meditative state to actively create a belief, or beliefs, that will serve you well. When you choose your beliefs about yourself and your potential, you are more likely to become more authentic, more grounded, and more fulfilled. Enjoy.

Hello and welcome to this exercise on beliefs,
The third and final part of this program with me Jan Russell.
This one is a meditative exercise to support you to create compelling beliefs.
It's a guided fantasy if you will and for the exercise you are going to want to go into a physiology of relaxation.
So I recommend that you find a quiet place where you can be undisturbed and you can relax.
And as you are listening to the introduction I would invite you to be adjusting and allowing yourself now to become as comfortable as you can be.
Whether you are already there in that place or whether you can become even more comfortable,
Maybe 10 or 20 percent.
Scanning through your body to ensure that your physiology is soft and relaxed and allowing your breathing process to regulate until your body is breathing you.
And as you do so we will begin a short meditation to create a compelling belief which will help to lead you towards being the very you that you want to be as you move forward in and through time.
I know that you will know already that I believe that we are often rehearsing our futures at both a conscious and an unconscious level.
It's as if we are dreaming them up,
Casting our own spells which will impact us way into the future as if through a time tunnel.
So I'm sure you will agree that it does make sense doesn't it to make sure that in those rehearsals you are creating resourceful and compelling beliefs about what you want to be possible.
It's like we dream up your beliefs and then you need to believe in your dreams because dreams are so important and we know,
We know don't we,
That dreams really can come true.
So let's dream together to create a belief that will serve you well,
To let it begin to live and flourish within you,
To inspire you,
To give you confidence in what you want and ways of seeing and being which will be a friend to you well into your future in any way that you would like.
So allow yourself one or two full breaths,
Breathing out,
Breathing in,
Noticing how easy it is to exhale the air already used and inhale the fresh air into your lungs,
The inhalation taking care of itself,
Letting oxygen spread throughout your body from the tips of your toes to the top of your head and the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
Your body is breathing you and you have nothing else to do except to dream up your belief.
You can hear my voice here with you and it's really not important how much of what you hear you are aware of or follow closely or not so closely and how much you just allow to be around while you journey on.
And so while you continue in this way bring to mind a belief that you would really like to hold deeply within you.
Maybe something you would love to be able to do or a quality that you would really like to have.
A belief in the person that you dream to be,
Whatever that is for you,
Identify that belief right now because this means doesn't it that if you have some idea of the belief that you want then you are already on the way to creating it.
Notice how you are creating that belief.
Notice any words or sounds that you hear within yourself or from outside coming to you.
Notice any or all of the sensations in your physiology.
And notice all that you see in your mind's eye.
Creating it as if it is absolutely your truth.
Just let that belief build and grow.
Make any adjustments that you want to.
And whether you know just how much you are creating in this moment you need only have in your beliefs what you want to and this is a very simple truth and a liberating truth.
And whether you know just how much you are creating in this moment or whether you choose to simply trust that your unconscious is following and knows what to do now.
Whether this is a new belief or a belief that you already knew you wanted let the belief permeate throughout your body and mind and generate that sense of what it's like when you have this belief in place.
And now I'd like you to identify a time in the future when you would like to be living with this compelling belief that you are creating today.
When it is a fully embedded truth and you are able to behave,
To act,
To make decisions with the power of that belief deeply held within you.
And give yourself a date of when you would like to have all of this fully in place.
And as you continue to be relaxed allow your eyes to be gently looking upwards as if through the top of your head yet comfortably lazily.
And imagine that you are able to float through time to that date in the future.
Moving forwards to that date with a whoosh and earthing yourself at the point that you want to where your dream has materialised around you.
Ground yourself safely and firmly ready to explore your new now.
Notice all the sensations that you have within you.
Your posture.
Your breathing.
The flow of your energy as you move around looking.
Listening.
Feeling.
Surrounded by the success and the fulfilment of living with this belief in yourself.
And feel just what it's like,
What is the vibe of being the person that you are when you have this new belief in yourself which you have so wanted and now you have achieved that shift.
And as you are dreaming that future where you believe in you,
Become aware of a sensation of light beaming down to you from the outer edges of the universe.
Beaming down.
Coming nearer.
Entering your body through the crown of your head.
The light of infinite possibility.
Expanding your being.
Filling the very essence of you with the perfect energy for you.
The source of your belief in yourself always there within you.
And as this sensation settles within you into your identity,
That which makes you uniquely you,
Begin to move gently backwards towards your now.
Slowly gathering in the new and compelling belief which may be so fully a part of you that you don't even have to think it to know it and let it align with all of your values.
Sitting comfortably inside.
Moving further back towards now.
Gathering up all the capabilities and resources that you have released to yourself which are always available to you.
And then move one step closer to now with that uniqueness,
With those beliefs,
With your resources to gather up all of the different choices which you can now bring with you about what you do.
All of your behaviours.
How you do what you do.
All that is possible is what you now believe.
And what you now believe will make all that is possible.
You may be more or less clear about what you want and more or less focused at any one time.
It really doesn't matter how much of a shift you are making.
Trust that you can rehearse the future that you want.
You can continue to create and rehearse beliefs that serve you well whenever you want to.
And as you become aware of these words,
Notice the sensations at the ends of your toes and at your fingertips.
And in your own time make some movement,
Slight or not so slight,
As you become a little more alert,
Allowing consciousness to enter the whole of your body in whichever way and at whatever pace is right for you.
I leave you with this sensation and the memory now of what it is like to behave in that future with a compelling belief that is resourceful for you.
You may find it useful to combine this session with the previous two on exploring beliefs and tweaking beliefs.
Or you might have already done this.

I'm still working through my beliefs and values and this last sessions/meditation is helping me tremendously in identifying which values have changed and the beliefs that no longer serve me. This session is also instrumental in embedding those new values and beliefs.
