Hello and welcome to this guided Reiki treatment with me,
Kaziah Gibbons.
This meditation is intended to be a support for beginner Reiki healers who wish to practice on family and friends.
This recording is part of my Reiki One certification programme offered here on Insight Timer and includes a short introduction to the theory of practicing on others,
Which I suggest that you listen to on your own before preparing for your practice.

When we treat another person,
It's important to show up in our best state.
As long as we do that,
We can trust the rest to the Reiki energy.
Because we are channelling Reiki energy and not using our own energy,
We can trust that the healing will go where it's needed and we will not lose energy or pass anything on to the person we're treating.
In fact,
Because the energy travels through us,
When we give a Reiki treatment,
We also receive the benefit of the treatment.
You should also know that Reiki is its own protection and clearing energy,
So the treatment will be energetically safe without any special preparation.
I'm going to talk you through connecting to Reiki,
Connecting to the person you're treating and then working through a series of hand positions.
Please know that,
As your practice evolves,
These hand positions and timings are not set in stone.
You'll learn more about practicing intuitively in Reiki too.
Before we start,
I would like you to be aware that you can practice Reiki either hands-on or hands-off.
By hands-on I mean that your palms come in direct contact with the person you're treating and by hands-off I mean that your hands will hover an inch or two above the person and come into physical contact only with their energy field.
Which you prefer is entirely down to the practitioner,
So do try with both.
There are parts of the body that it will not be appropriate for you to put your hands on and of course the person you're treating may also have a preference about hands-on or hands-off.
I would invite you to stay in communication with the person you're treating,
To check in with what's most comfortable and of course make sure that they let you know if anything doesn't feel comfortable at any point.
If this is the case,
It's perfectly okay to stop.
Just as each person receiving a Reiki treatment experiences it differently,
So each practitioner experiences giving a treatment differently.
You may experience warmth,
Tingling,
Softness or some other sensation or you may see colours or images.
You may not notice your experience of Reiki and in this case just trust that it is flowing.
It can be useful to ask the person you're treating afterwards to see what they noticed.
One final note before we start our practice.
Although you will be laying your hands in specific places,
The Reiki energy will always go where it needs to go.
How you set your intention matters because Reiki flows with intention.
I suggest that rather than setting out to treat anything in particular,
Even if the person you're treating has a specific problem,
You should instead intend that they receive what they need.
That way we're not limiting the Reiki with any preconceptions of our own.
You're almost ready to start giving your Reiki treatment now.
Please pause the audio and invite the person you're treating to be comfortable,
Seated or lying before assuming the recording for the guided treatment.
This is the guidance for a hands-on Reiki treatment.
If you are the person receiving the treatment,
You do not have to do anything but be comfortable and allow yourself to relax and drift away.
Reiki practitioner,
Please stand or sit where you can reach the shoulders of the person you're treating.
You do not have to place your hands on them just yet.
Let's take a minute to set your intention for this Reiki treatment.
Place your hands together in front of you in the gassho position and take a deep cleansing breath in and out.
Affirm that this is a sacred time and that the Reiki treatment is for the highest healing good of the person you're treating so that they may receive what they need.
Connect to Reiki by inviting the Reiki energy in through your crown and down to your tanden.
You might visualise the energy flowing down from source if that's helpful for you.
Contend that the Reiki energy flows in with each in-breath,
Building in your tanden as you go.
For the rest of this practice,
Every time you breathe in,
Reiki energy will automatically flow from source and into your tanden.
Place your hands on the shoulders of the person you're treating.
Don't try to direct anything just yet,
Just sense into their energy.
As much or as little as you're aware of is just perfect.
Contend to energetically connect with the person you're treating.
Bring your attention back to the flow of energy,
In with each in-breath into your tanden.
On your next out-breath,
Direct the Reiki energy from your tanden and out through your hands.
Trust that it will go wherever it's needed and continue this flow with every breath.
Now,
Place your hands on the crowd.
Allow the Reiki to continue to flow,
In with each in-breath,
Out through your hands and into the crowd every time you breathe out.
Knowing the Reiki will go where it's needed.
Now,
Bring your hands to the temples or ears of the person you're treating and continue to allow Reiki to flow,
In through your tanden,
Out through your hands,
Knowing that the person you're treating will receive what they need.
Now,
Bring your hands down to the neck or throat of the person you're treating.
Breathing Reiki energy in with each breath in,
Directing it out to the person you're treating with each breath out,
Allowing the Reiki to go where it needs to go.
Now,
Bring your hands to the temples or ears of the person you're treating with.
Now,
Bring your hands down to the heart space or chest of the person you're treating,
Allowing the Reiki energy to flow in from source with each breath in,
Directing it out through your hands with each breath out,
Intending that the person you're treating will receive what they need.
Now,
Bring your hands to the temples or chest of the person you're treating with,
Demanding that the Reiki energy flow in from source with each breath out,
Demanding that the Reiki energy flow in from source with each breath out,
Knowing that the Reiki energy will go where it's needed,
That the person you're treating will receive what they need.
Now,
Bringing your hands down to their abdomen,
Around the area of the navel,
Around the area of the navel,
Breathing Reiki energy in through your crown to your tanden,
Sending it out through your hands into the abdomen of the person you're treating.
Now,
Bringing your hands down to the hips.
Breathing Reiki energy in,
Breathing Reiki energy out,
Knowing that the person you're treating will receive what they need from the Reiki energy.
Now,
Bringing your hands down to their upper legs.
Breathing Reiki energy in,
Sending Reiki energy out through your hands into the upper legs,
Getting the energy to go where it's needed.
Breathing Reiki energy out,
Sending Reiki energy out through your hands into the upper legs,
Allowing that Reiki energy to flow in from source every time you breathe in,
And sending it out through your hands every time you breathe out,
Knowing that Reiki will go where it needs to go.
Breathing Reiki energy in,
Sending Reiki energy out through your hands.
And now bringing your hands down to the feet.
And we're nearly at the end of the treatment now.
You're just going to do some grounding.
So firstly,
Holding the feet of the person you're treating,
Intending that their energy is equally dissipated throughout their body.
And then staying connected through your hands with the person you're treating.
Take your awareness down to your own feet.
And imagine that you have roots growing out of your feet down into the ground.
You might have a very deep taproot and lots of other little roots growing down into the ground,
Anchoring you,
Holding you in grounded energy.
And from this grounded space becoming once again aware of the connection between the connection between you and the person you're treating.
Knowing that they also are grounded here at the end of the treatment.
And then you're going to go back to the head and not touching the person.
You're going to sweep your hands down their body from head to toe.
And as you do this,
Intend that you are removing any unwanted old or excess energy.
And also smoothing down the energy that they're keeping with them now.
And then once you've done this you can take a step back.
And intend to disconnect from the Reiki energy.
You might rub your hands together before placing your hands once again in the gasho position and giving thanks to the Reiki energy.
This treatment is now complete.
I suggest that you both drink plenty of water today.
Rest well and generally take care of yourselves.
