In the rich rainforest of Australia lived a young boy named River.
The creek that ran beside his house flowed just like his name.
The caps of the gentle waves,
Shepherded by the breath of the winds,
Shone an incredible orange and pink glow upon his face.
That same glow extends into the sky as the setting sun prepares itself to meet the horizon.
River has been playing upon the shores of the creek,
Watching all of the tiny critters scurrying away into their comfy burrows.
Waving them goodnight,
River knelt down at the creek's edge to splash his face with water and brush his teeth,
Before hopping,
Skipping and jumping along the leafy rainforest track to return to his home.
Arriving at the steps alongside of his house,
He takes one last look around at all of his friends in nature.
The birds,
Butterflies and bees are all returning to their nests and hives.
He glances at all of his favourite hiding places,
His hand-made instruments left at the bottom of his house sitting right next to his wooden bike.
He wished all of them goodnight,
And with that he ran up his spiral staircase.
The stairs run around and around and around his house,
All the way to the very top of the canopy of the tree.
That's right,
River lives in a tree house.
It's the hugest,
Most beautiful tree you could imagine.
This is his home.
He runs to the edge of the balcony just in time to see the rays of sunlight take their final bow for today.
And looking out across the rainforest to see all of the neighbourhood of trees turning on their lights.
Just like River's house,
All of the tree houses in the rainforest were lit by fireflies and beautiful candles that felt so special to burn.
With a big yawn,
It was now time to wish everyone goodnight.
After hugs and kisses from Mum,
Dad and loved ones,
Everything was starting to become still in the world.
River could still hear all of the noises of the rainforest,
The bugs,
The insects and all of the nocturnal animals that come out at night to dance their nightly dance.
This made River feel safe and feel connected to something so much larger than what meets the eye.
He felt proud about his place within his ecosystem.
As he hopped into bed,
He thought about all of the things that he did today and all of the things that he could do tomorrow,
Playing and exploring with bright eyes of wonder.
Looking out through the window and through the top of the canopy of the trees,
The first stars of the night were starting to show,
Twinkling their healing light from light years away.
And the moon's gentle glow sends an emerald green hue into the moisture rich air.
These cosmic lights tell everyone that it is soon time to close over their eyes.
River has had a fun and fulfilling day.
His tummy is full and he is all cuddled up in his warm bed.
All of your friends are in their warm beds too.
Let's take three deep breaths in with River.
It's time for you to dream the biggest,
Most amazing dreams that you could imagine.
You are safe within the sounds of the rainforest.
You are so safe within your warm bed.
Good night little one and see you in the morning.
The sweet rainforest dreams.
Good night.
