In this week’s guided meditation, we are meditating with crystals for grounding and protection. You can use crystals during meditation to enhance focus and provide a connection to the earth. In this guided meditation, I am holding a crystal-septarian or dragon stone, during the meditation for grounding and protective purposes. However, you can meditate with any crystal you choose. In this guided meditation, we focus on crystals and connection to the cosmos. There is an invitation to bring in crystals and focus on breath movement.

Today I am going to be talking about meditating with crystals.

Now I love crystals and the thing is you don't have to believe in them or the properties or even even know it's just there's just something about looking at them holding them and that the crystal that I've chosen today is called sectarian or dragon stone and it's quite a chunky stone and it feels really nice just to hold it and it's um and it's said to be good for grounding and and for helping to form a protective shield around your aura to stop you know negative energies coming in and also it's said to enhance your dreams well I've been holding this a lot the last few days and I did have quite a vivid dream last night so I don't know whatever but but there's just something about especially you know if you're struggling to settle you've got a busy mind it's something else that can provide a focus during your meditation when your mind wanders off you can come back to the sensations of the stone now you can put it wherever you want you can put it somewhere inside your clothing you can hold it you could put it underneath your your foot and just feel that under under the sole of your foot or in your pocket or whatever feels right for you you know there's no rules there's no right or wrong and you don't have to use crystals at all I mean I don't use them all the time but it's just something a few years ago I just I don't know I was probably a bit in a bit of a funk and I just thought you know what I'm going to hold a crystal while I meditate and I did write a blog post about it as well and it's just something that that I like to do when I'm feeling when I'm finding it hard to settle or I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed or distracted it helps just bring bring me back it's it's something that's from the earth so it's another way of providing that connection with the earth but of course all that is completely optional you don't need to use a crystal at all if you don't want to it's just a suggestion of something that you might want to try and experiment with or just a nice pebble you know I'm always picking I live near the beach and I'm always picking up lovely pebbles from the beach so it's it's it's an invitation as everything is in these guided meditations so without further ado get into a comfortable position turn off any distractions to make sure that you're not going to be disturbed in the next 15 10 15 minutes or so and when you're ready take a few deep breaths and if you wish you can close your eyes or if you if your mind is very busy you might find it helpful to have them open but just having a soft focus in front of you and not looking all around the room okay so here begins this week's friday guided meditation with an invitation to bring in crystals feeling the breath moving in and out of the body letting the mind settle and it doesn't matter how often it wanders off remember you're not your mind you can come back to the breath and the sensation of the crystal wherever you can feel it against your body feel the weight of it feeling that connection with the earth this object that was formed many millions of years ago and various geological activities that made this unique stone just like all the things that have happened in your life has formed your unique personality and feeling that connection with this object and knowing that we're not separate we're all part of the earth the cosmos we're all made up of energy but we manifest it in different forms you can imagine the energy that's coming from this stone this crystal and whatever its properties are they're providing you with whatever you need right now in this moment coming back to the breath and the sensations of the stone every time you get distracted or your mind wanders off allowing this object to help ground your connection with the present moment and just allow any thoughts or feelings to move through you you don't need to grasp onto them being aware of any sounds and things happening in the external environment as well feeling the joy of being alive and the beauty of the earth and all the things that come from the earth lovely crystals and other formations and plants and trees and all the beauty of nature that surrounds us remembering every time your mind wanders off and feeling the weight of the crystal if you're using one noticing the sensations where it comes into contact with your body helping to ground you to stay in the present moment the past is gone the future hasn't happened yet everything is now being aware of your body the parts of your body that are in contact with the ground the chair or whatever is supporting it having a sense of your aura the space around your body and the energy that you're projecting out into the world and knowing that by doing this meditation you're increasing your positive vibrations and that will have an effect not only on you but the people that you come into contact with so it's not only you that benefits but the whole world so well thank you for joining me today and don't you don't need to know actually what what crystals do i mean if you do that's fine i mean i only happen to know what this one does because i made a note of it when i bought it a few weeks ago but if you just choose one that you feel drawn to then just know that it's just going to give you whatever you need in that moment even if it's just like the sensation of holding it in your hands and just remembering that you're alive and the joy of being alive and appreciating its beauty
