Thank you for joining me for this teaching from the I Ching.
On the themes of exhaustion,
Confining and oppression.
These are various translations of the title for hexagram number 47.
Let's make space in order to receive this guidance in its fullness.
You might like to bring some movement to the body just to shake out.
Whatever the physical,
Mental or emotional self.
Might have been holding on to.
Or even just a few rotations of the wrists,
Elbows,
Shoulders,
Ankles.
Moving the waist around a few times.
And then let's take slow but deep inhalation.
Hold still.
And then carefully release.
And again,
With intention.
Taking the breath into the body.
Holding it for a moment.
And gently returning it to the wool.
And once more.
Deep,
Slow,
Purposeful breath.
A gentle pull.
And just slow exhalation.
And as you exhale,
Some more.
Feel the body releasing some more.
Releasing tightness,
Relaxing.
And opening.
As we open through the muscles.
Open through the mind.
And the heart can open.
You might like to place your hands in front of heart center now as we set our intention.
Please repeat with me.
I trust.
The wisdom and guidance I am receiving.
From this ancient teaching.
Along with my own insights.
These are all aligned.
With my highest good.
And for the greater good of all.
Breathe into the.
.
.
And as you exhale and release.
Confirm once more with the words I trust.
And by trusting,
We can release expectations because We know that.
The guidance set is in perfect alignment.
With life right now.
Collective but also yours individually.
This guidance is in perfect alignment.
To relax the body.
Brighten the mind.
And let's look at the image of this hexagram.
So a hexagram is comprised of six lines either of yin or yang nature.
And they are stacked one on top of each other.
An open line representing yen or a solid closed line is yang.
And depending on the formation,
One can see.
.
.
Different images.
These are,
Of course,
Symbolic images.
And the image of this hexagram of yin,
Yang,
Yin,
Yang,
Yang,
Yin,
Open,
Closed,
Open,
Closed,
Closed,
Open.
Shows a dilapidated house.
Its old structure has been exhausted.
And so remaining.
In such a drilling can make one feel.
Confined or even a priest.
And this house can be representative of a particular situation.
That you may find yourself in that is difficult.
The situation could be involving others.
Or it could be representative of your own inner landscape.
Your mental thoughts.
Let's consider that image once more of this house that is caving in.
And when we have such an experience,
We know that.
Change is necessary.
It's gotten to the point that it can't be ignored.
But this change needs to take place.
From the inside out.
Before we can go and decorate the garden,
It would be wise to first.
.
.
Do the clearing of some of the things that have fallen down from the broken pieces from the ceiling.
Or the bits of the wall that have caved inwards.
So before we can refresh.
The outer.
We need to first clear the inner.
And clearing our inner self.
This could be perspectives,
It could be habits that are destructive that have caused the house to start caving in.
It could be certain emotions certain way of seeing another person.
Certain way of talking to oneself.
We start by acknowledging what we are seeing.
We acknowledge.
That which has caved in and is on the floor at our feet.
Next step is to Do something with this debris.
You may feel the need to.
Call in someone to support you.
Someone who has experience with this.
Or you may choose to do it on your own.
But either way.
There is an inner clearing and cleansing that needs to take place.
And order.
Or a rebuilding to happen And part of the gardens here is to just focus on what needs to be done.
Not to look back at the past.
And Place any blame.
Or shame on yourself or others for the circumstance that the house now finds itself in.
So keep directing yourself Back to the present time.
To the task at hand.
And this task.
Although it may require some physical doing.
It is largely.
In a word.
And for many,
This can mean.
Time on one's own.
It's not always about being still.
One can do such inner work in heart of nature.
But it is more than just contemplating or reflecting.
It is now the act of.
Releasing and transforming.
When this hexagram shows for you,
It means that this is the time for radical transformation.
Consider first transforming the relationship with yourself.
And do so slowly and carefully with wisdom and kindness.
And along your journey.
Support yourself with rest.
This rest is here to nourish you physically.
Mentally,
Emotionally and spiritually.
Taking a slow breath in and exhaling carefully,
Making some space as we now receive commentary from the I Ching which says,
While the situation may be hard and difficult.
One's usual necessary resources for coping have been exhausted.
And there may appear to be no order or control.
This calls for self-sufficiency.
You will need to rely on deep inner strength and a will determination.
So remain optimistic.
And cheerful.
No matter what.
Take a few moments to consider.
And feel into the heart of what's speaking to you from this message.
And then using the breath to ground oneself.
It's also considered primary elements.
Of this image which involves water below the leg In other words,
A lake drains away into a water course.
Which means resources.
Have been stripped.
One may feel those as scarcity.
Or danger even.
Or opposition.
And so the positioning of these elements.
Indicates a need for self-sufficiency.
Particularly of the mental and emotional and spiritual states because these will unfold over time into the physical.
The fact that we have the leg present as a primary trigram is an optimistic sign.
Because the lake is about beauty and joy.
And connection.
So as the I Ching gracefully reminds us,
If you have a worthy goal and persist on your path towards it.
Maintaining self-control and a sense of humor.
You will survive the pressures on you and your situation.
Will gradually improve.
Notice your inner guidance.
And hold the wisdom that you've received.
From your intuition,
From your knowing.
In your heart.
And if this guidance is still formulating,
Be relaxed about that.
Trusting this process in its unfolding.
And the unfolding for you takes place at the perfect time in the perfect way.
This hexagram number 47 works in partnership with hexagram number 48.
So the message of 47 turns into the message of 48 when we Follow the guidelines.
And in essence,
It's about turning inner self-containment into the ability to manage the flow and flux of events,
Of change,
Internally but also externally.
With 47 we are called to first focus on the internal.
And then 48 moves one into external expression of a related focus.
And you can find.
This I Ching reading along with others in the I Ching playlist.
At the bottom of my profile page.
Let's take a deep breath in together,
Exhaling and relaxing into this time that we are facing.
And in closing.
Please know that these two trigrams represent.
Delight,
And confinement.
Taken together,
They suggest a time of joy in the face of scarcity and adversity.
So the person of character and virtue.
Will win through a perilous time by remaining in good spirits.
And being in alignment with their essence and the way.
