Good morning.
Welcome to your morning meditation.
I see you.
You greet this day with a short breath,
A broken heart,
A downtrodden soul.
While the world bustles around you,
Things for you may move in slow motion,
Or they may seem to not move at all.
Sometimes when we look at objects,
Or people we love,
Or familiar things around our home,
We may suddenly see them differently,
Because life can be at times so painful and so full of uncertainty and change.
I hear you,
And I'm holding this space for you.
The situation that brought you here today,
Breathe it in.
Any suffering,
Any confusion,
Any betrayal,
Any hurt.
Visiting these difficult emotions doesn't mean that Source has abandoned you.
This pulsating storm doesn't mean that darkness will envelop you and never let you see the sunrise.
This pain means that there is purpose.
There is purpose to this pain that you feel,
Hidden like small flowers in an overgrown meadow.
This morning,
I share that deeply hidden pain with you.
I carry it alongside you.
I hold space for you to feel the sharp corners of its cruelty,
The dull ache of its constant presence.
Suffering is part of our existence.
Suffering is part of our existence.
Through human suffering,
We learn to do nothing at first,
But then we learn that we can use the ally living in our bones,
Our skin and body,
The friend that is breath.
And through a deep breath,
We can begin to accept the imperfections and learn gratitude for the one thing that won't fail us in this moment.
I invite you to go inward,
To bring your attention to your heart space,
Accepting it for how it feels today in its heaviness,
Its charred exterior,
Its shattered interior.
I invite you now to close your eyes gently.
Breathe in for the count of four.
Hold your heart as it is.
Hold your breath for a beat and exhale for six.
Breathe in for a count of four.
Hold your heart as it is.
Hold your precious breath for a moment and exhale for six.
Now I invite you to place one hand on your belly and one on your chest.
Breathe into your belly and let it rise with the inhale as the hand on your chest only moves slightly,
If at all.
Breathe into the belly for four and exhale for six.
Breathe in for a count of four.
Exhale for a count of six.
Feel your body sink into the chair,
The bed,
Wherever you are.
Feel your body be heavy.
Relax your jaw,
The muscles around your eyes.
Relax your shoulders,
Your hips and continue to breathe deeply as you listen to my voice.
You may place your arms at your sides if you wish and let them be heavy.
You are held in this infinite space of sisterhood,
Of chosen family.
Allow the sound of my voice to give you warmth,
Comfort and hope.
Imagine a dark sky and the clouds part just for a moment to let the new sunlight of the day through.
This beam of light reaches your body and floods you with a warm golden light.
As you imagine this golden light warming your body,
Continue to breathe deeply as you repeat the following affirmations to yourself quietly or I'm having a difficult time.
It's okay to feel this way.
I'm having a difficult time.
It's okay to feel this way.
Everybody goes through truly difficult times.
Everybody goes through truly difficult times.
I am not alone in my suffering.
I am not alone in my suffering.
Clouds pass through the sky,
So shall my suffering.
Like dark clouds pass through the sky,
So shall my suffering.
My breath is my ally.
It is here to heal me.
Breath is my ally.
It is here to heal me.
I forgive myself for any wrongdoing I have done.
I forgive myself for any wrongdoing I have done.
I am a good person full of love and light.
I am a good person full of love and light.
This day doesn't need to be perfect.
This day doesn't need to be perfect.
I can hold on to the light I feel.
I will allow it to guide me.
I can hold on to the light I feel.
I will allow it to guide me.
I let go of what I cannot control.
I let go of what I cannot control.
I let go of what I cannot control.
This day is an opportunity for you to heal,
Even if it is miniscule.
Even a small step is a step.
When you are ready,
Bring your attention back to the noises in the room.
Move your fingers and toes and gently open your eyes.
Feel the renewal of this practice,
The acceptance of your beautiful self and soul.
Move your body,
Knowing that you are loved,
Worthy,
Strong.
You are loved,
Worthy,
And strong.
Repeat this practice every morning.
Lean into the acceptance of your beautiful self and soul.
And now move your body,
Knowing that you are loved.
Loved,
Worthy,
And strong.
Thank you for sharing your time with me.
May you find peace in your day.
