Welcome to your gratitude for voice mindfulness practice.
To begin,
Be sure you're seated or lying down in a comfortable position.
Our voices are mirrors to our souls,
Clues to infinite possibility.
The voice is an instrument of unique power.
When we slow down and take the time to listen to our own voice and to the voices of others whom we truly trust,
We create the space to welcome awareness,
Strength and lasting joy.
This isn't always easy.
Perhaps you've received opinions about your voice or you've told yourself a story about your voice that might not really be true.
Opinions and stories are not facts and therefore they can be changed.
Whatever state your voice is in,
It is a gift.
Take a moment now to turn off your thinking mind and instead,
Tune into the sound of my voice.
Close your eyes.
Allow yourself to be guided to a place of self-acceptance and relaxation.
Feel the support beneath you and allow yourself to sink deeply into that support.
Feel the support beneath you and allow yourself to sink deeply into that support.
As you breathe in slowly through the nose,
Allow the belly to be lifted up.
As you breathe in slowly through the nose,
Allow the belly to expand.
As you exhale through the mouth,
Let the jaw relax.
Breathing in,
Your belly expands.
And as you breathe out,
Release any tension.
Continue this cycle of deep breathing,
Knowing that it's safe to let go.
Now imagine a golden light glowing around your solar plexus.
This golden light travels up your body and reaches your throat,
Continuing to glow a warm golden light.
This golden light now expands to envelop your whole body.
Now bring to mind any beliefs or opinions you have held about your voice that may not be serving you.
These could be worries or fears being judged.
Now imagine you are holding a balloon by a string.
And as you continue to breathe deeply,
Imagine all of the worries and fears about your voice are now inside this balloon.
On your exhale,
Imagine letting go of this balloon,
Releasing it into the sky.
The balloon drifts high into the atmosphere,
Out of view,
And you walk forward,
Strong,
Proud,
And free from fear.
Now imagine yourself using your voice as you've always dreamed.
What does it sound like?
Strong,
Clear,
Powerful?
Who is hearing your voice?
How does your voice make others feel?
How does your voice change your world?
What does it feel like to express yourself with the voice you've always wanted?
Really imagine yourself using your voice in this way.
Trust and know that this voice is not outside of you,
It is within you.
Now repeat the following phrases quietly to yourself or aloud.
I am strengthening my voice every day.
I am strengthening my voice every day.
I have all the breath I need to express myself fully.
I have all the breath I need to express myself fully.
I let go of all stress and tension around my voice.
I will no longer apologize for my voice.
I will no longer apologize for my voice.
I am grateful for my unique voice.
I am grateful for my unique voice.
When you are ready,
Gently move your fingers and toes,
Becoming aware of the room,
And open your eyes.
By spending this time with your voice and your breath,
You create the opportunity for more connection to yourself and to the world.
When we are open to more connection,
We can truly find peace.
Namaste.
Thank you.
