Lesson 1

Introduction: Self Guided Imagery

In this lesson I share how and why I got into learning and teaching guided imagery and how self guided imagery empowers you to go within to heal, solve problems, create solutions, and discover so much about yourself. Create your life from 'in to out' by going directly into your subconscious mind which is full of imagination and creativity.

Lesson 2

Finding a Personal Place

In this short imagery exercise, find a personal or special place that you can go to explore your imagination and as a hub to use imagery techniques. You can always explore and find more places, but it is beneficial to have a comfortable place to begin your imagery practices, training the mind to quickly get comfortable and focused as you dive into your imagination more and more.

Lesson 3

Inner Advisor

In this lesson we explore finding an inner advisor. Some like to call this different things including accessing your 'higher self', an 'inner guide', a friend, or an 'inner support system'. The key to an inner advisor is that it meets two main criteria: it is kind and wise. Use this track as a guide, and then potentially do this on your own so you can self pace the experience.

Lesson 4

Image As Resistance

In this lesson I briefly talk about how using your imagination can lead to amazing clarity, healing, change, and self empowerment. Intentions for forming images can be to meet resistance, to meet inner resources, or to meet a solution. In this imagery exercise we will go in with an intention of meeting the resistance of a change you want to make in your life or a situation you want to remedy.

Lesson 5

More Imagery Techniques & Practice

In this final lesson I give several imagery practices including two, 1 minute imagery exercises to relax and to feel gratitude or love for another; a look at the miracle question solution based technique; changing your mood regarding a future or present thought; and using imagery to gain insight regarding a conflict in a relationship. Thank you for joining me in this course and I hope you are beginning to see just how valuable guided imagery can be in your life!

It’s definitely given me a lot to think about. I have known and heard that when we were children and we would use our imagination to escape a bad situation or just want to drift off into the unknown, it was frowned upon and called “daydreaming” which I did a lot as a child. I was bullied at school and mentally and physically (not sexually) abused at home and always torn down and/or belittled and not allowed to BE the person I had been BORN to be (or perhaps that was the life I signed up for before arriving) and I struggled to find MY place in life and have MY hopes, dreams and goals achieved. I was always told that “you can’t do that” “you don’t want to try that” and looking back, I think it was them projecting THEIR insecurities onto me and because I was just a child and they were adults, I gave into their authority over me. Looking back through my life, I seemed to always have a “keeper” of MY life and now that I’m older, I’m breaking the cage and flying MY way and it’s felt so Ah-maZing! I’ve been reading about how we have all succumb to this reality of thinking that to have an imagination, be whimsical and light hearted, free of body, mind and soul to BE silly is acting like a child but I think THAT is important to NOT lose that part of us. I know THAT part of me…got me through some ROUGH times. It was my “bestie” and I could always count on “her”. I’m 57 and more then not, I have the mind of a adolescent *hee hee* and YES I do know how to be an adult WHEN warranted/needed but more then not…I’m like sprinkling fairy dust (glitter) everywhere I go (I’ve been told) OMG do you have sparkles coming out of your pores *hee hee* because when around me…they will undoubtedly find a sparkle of glitter on them before our interaction is over. *tee hee hee* Little kids “see” me and waive and there is a connection (energy or awareness) with them, as if I AM “like” them- it’s a beautiful “connection” as we smile or play peek-a-boo while at a resturant. I respect them and what they DO bring to this world and I believe that they “feel” my “energy” as well and feel safe, respected, appreciated and loved BY my “energy”! I think (as I have always joked) “I am one of them- STILL” We all (at one point) knew how to imagine things and this world eventually (school system especially) tainted and/or robbed us OF that “magical” power from within and we had been taught…adults MUST be more serious and STOP with the shenanigans and “grow up already” but I think it’s important to have a silly side, daydream about a place that you would like to see and be FREE minded as much as possible- as long as you aren’t hurting YOUrself or anyone else…why not right!?!?! They tried to put me on medication because I was (their wording) “daydreaming” and my teacher would ask me “where did I do” and I didn’t have an answer for her or my parents when they were called into the school to discuss my “behavior” and now looking back…I don’t and didn’t really know either but I (since have learned) it was a magical place that kept me safe and in GOOD intentions and a HAPPY place to protect me- that’s all I DO know! Perhaps you could call “it” my imaginary friend. 😏✨💞 So now I will go forward teaching my grand🩵🩵🩵 how to nurture their imagination- as I don’t ever want them to lose THAT “magic”.

Thank you for this course. I’ve started daily visualisation exercises to improve my capacity for seeing mental images…mostly using my cat in his day to day activities 🐈 I can see him more clearly now in my minds eye when I close my eyes. I really like attaching feelings to the images too to create positive emotional images 😊
