This course is for couples of any age. It focuses upon your strengths, sharing the benefits of having fun, supporting each other, being affectionate, and deepening intimacy. It requires both of you to take part in reflective practices, exercises with pen and paper, and mini-meditations. You absolutely need 20 minutes per day where you both can spend this time undisturbed, no noise, where you can concentrate fully. You will be fully engaging with your partner in ways that are both familiar to you, as well as new and refreshing for you. This may also be suitable for therapists, counselors, or life coaches who are looking for more ways to help others and add more tools to their repertoire, and to ultimately help people be part of the change that’s going on in the world right now.

First Encounters
We’re nurturing the foundations first. Reconnecting you both with some, warm, gentle, and loving thoughts, feelings, and memories. The second phase starts from Day 5 onwards, where we start using exercises, rituals, and tools which help us stay aligned with doing things that those in happy and lasting relationships do.

The Mindfulness Triangle & Your Favourite Point Of Connection
Today we are going to The Mindfulness Triangle. This is a tool which can help you stay focused on one another. You will also get to play around with some different points of connection so as to find your favorite anchor whilst listening to your partner talk about a meaningful moment of connection.

Your Sweet Spot From Years Ago
Today, you are going to take part in an exercise which will help you recall and appreciate a moment from years ago that you still treasure to this day. It may well be an experience that your partner does not even know about yet. You then finish with a reflective practice to fully experience what it was like there then, before sharing all of this with one another.

Your Sweet Spots You Share
Today’s exercise helps you recall and appreciate a moment that you have shared together. A moment that you still treasure to this day, which your partner may well have forgotten about until now. This is about recalling that exact moment where there was a snapshot of sweetness. Then, the foundations are set for phase 2, where we start using exercises, rituals, and tools which help us stay aligned with doing things that those in happy and lasting relationships do.

Your Personal Qualities
Now we’re in phase 2. This is where we start using exercises, rituals, and tools which help us stay aligned with doing things that those in happy and lasting relationships do. Today, you are going to explore a list of personal qualities. From here you will choose the ones you truly admire in your partner, as well as finishing off with a reflective practice that helps us recognize that those personal qualities we admire within each other are also within us.

What Makes You Tick
Today, we dive into the things that make you tick, the things that really matter to you right now, both as a couple in close proximity, and when you’re geographically separate from one another. We explore some basic science which helps us nurture our own wellbeing, so that we can bring this into an intimate relationship in the service of enhancing the wellbeing between both of you.

Meaningful Connection Rituals
Today, we explore ways of enhancing meaningful connection for both of you together. We do this with the power of mini rituals. I call these Meaningful Connection Rituals. They can help strengthen the connection that you already have with your partner. They also provide the benefits of having fun, supporting each other, being affectionate, and deepening intimacy.

Your Non-Negotiable & The Check-In Ritual
Today, you are going to explore the idea of a non-negotiable in your relationship. This is something that you both would like to share in your relationship. Your non-negotiable will be a larger action that you commit to. Not many couples consciously think about what their non-negotiable is for maintaining a vital relationship, let alone commit to maintaining this habit. Toward the end, there is also the opportunity for the creation of a check-in ritual.

Gratitude Calls
Here, we explore the science of gratitude in the context of enhancing meaningful connection in relationships. You are going to be guided through an experiential practice of gratitude so as to learn about your response with curiosity and how to strengthen the neural template within your brain for exactly this.

Pulling It All Together
So, let’s pull everything together. It’s so important to have a detailed recap on what we will have covered, not only is this a nice thing to appreciate, but it’s essential to have some clear action points to be reminded of, a set of call-to-actions, that you both get to choose together. All this in the service of enhancing the meaningful connection between you both, as well as being part of the change that’s going on in the world right now.

I found that Ruben offered helpful and interesting exercises in a non-threatening or judge mental way. He kept the mindfulness exercises long enough to be affective but not too long where either partner could lose interest. Overall my husband and I are coming away from this course with some new insights and calls to action! Thank you Rueben.
